New favorite Japanese cafe in Howard County! I came here for a birthday brunch with a family member and it did not disappoint. First off the decorative cafe is inviting, warm and fun at the same time. There are two kiosk to order or you can order at the front counter. The menu is full of great items I can't wait to go back and try them all one by one. For our first time around we ordered: - Brown Sugar Pancakes - Pork Tonkatsu Sandwich - Corn Croquettes - Match drink - Passionfruit tea BROWN SUGAR PANCAKES: these fluffy Japanese pancakes were so yummy. The fluffy pancakes were stacked on a cute cake tray, topped with whipped cream, brown sugar drizzle and boba. My pallet was dancing with excitement with each bite. PORK TONKATSU SANDWICH: a crispy pork cutlet hugged in soft white bread, a lite sauce and lettuce clippings. Highly enjoyable with the perfect crisp and flavored sauce. CORN CROQUETTE: two lite battered crispy croquettes full of a corn mash of deliciousness. It was paired with lettuce clippings. The MATCHA drink was qualify matcha with a nice cold foam. The PASSIONFRUIT tea was good and had what seemed to be toasted seeds from the fruit (I think). Nonetheless, it was good. I came on a weekday and it wasn't busy. Came in around 4pm for a light meal after read some of the good reviews about this place. we were the only customers when came in, super quiet. casual and simple decor. Unfortunately, our experience cannot agree with those 5 star reviews. details as following: egg sando - delicious, eggs were on the sweeter side. chicken sando - good flavor, but there were over fried part that was very hard to chew pork sando - was real hard bite through, my daughter couldn't even chew the meat at all chicken kaarage - good flavor, fring batter was way too thick, half was batter rather than chick chicken salad - good portion for the price, salad dressing was tasty matcha latte & hojicha - was yummy BUT took them forever to make 2 drinks, and there was not option to choose sugar level when ordering from the pad, so we had to physically went to the counter to tell them. our overall experience was NOT to our satisfactory, we've had Japanese sando in Japan and in other part of Asia, all were much better than the ones sold here. Lovely place. The ambiance was soothing, not overpowering showcasing Japanese culture. Very clean and neat. Ordered the mango boom, which was alright. Should have put less sugar, but overall not bad. New-ish Japanese cafe in Catonsville area. Clean, aesthetic interior with multiple seating & table options. I ordered at a machine upon entering, and it did take quite a longer time to receive my full order. Food and drinks were all pretty good - favorites were the tamago (egg) sando and mango cream puff dessert. For my drink, I ordered the mango boom with 25% sugar and it was sweet enough. My friend also tried the shrimp senbei (pressed rice cracker), and we really liked the salty but not too salty flavor, which paired well with the sweeter drink! I also ordered some food to-go for my husband and siblings to try, and they all liked everything I got - the tonkatsu (pork cutlet) sando and beef yakiniku rice burger (sorry no photos of these as they were all boxed up). read more

Throughly enjoyed grabbing dinner here with my wife! We tried the pork sando and bacon senbei. Both were delicious!

The mango boom was tasty, but I wish they had more drink options. They also have set toppings. I wanted to change sago to boba, but then it would cost extra (forces you to pay for the sago). The strawberry Sando tasted decent, but it was smaller than I had thought. Right when I walked in, I noticed a stinky smell coming from the cafe. This place feels like a mini lunch mecca. You can either order online for carryout or place your order at a kiosk if you're dining in. Seating is limited with small tables, but they manage to pack a lot of people into the space. If it's busy, it's best to grab a table first before ordering since seating fills up quickly. Once you order, just wait for them to call out your number for pickup. It seemed like they might still be working through the rhythm of a new opening (or just dealing with a big crowd), because the food took a while to come out. We waited about 45 minutes, and the woman working the counter looked understandably overwhelmed trying to keep everything moving. That said, once the food finally arrived, it was absolutely worth the wait. I'm glad that this cafe opened up in this area and I can definitely see myself going back. It opened recently so it was really busy when we went. The drinks came out relatively quickly but the pancake and toast we ordered took around an hour. They were so busy they had to stop taking orders for a little bit too. The inside of the store is really cute and there was a good amount of seating. The cafe is narrow but the seats go all the way back so there's actually quite a bit. There are lots of tables for 2 but you might have a harder time if you go with a bigger group than that. I think that because they are so busy right now, the service is not the best, but I'm excited to go back in the future. Their matcha latte is good and I really enjoyed their strawberry toast too! This is place is a really nice addition to the shopping center. Picking up a snack after shopping will be fun. It has a lot of seating but people were being greedy and staying there pretty long after they ate, so getting a seat might be hard. I went for the grand opening and it was PACKED. I would not go on a weekend or during lunch until things calm down it took ONE HOUR to get 3 items. I think they did a good job considering how packed it was. I don't think anything they have was really special for me to travel out of my way to come back though. Berry drink with the cheese foam. The cheese is sweet and the drink was good. Another poster said there was plastic in it, but that's actually dried fruit from the drink that's really hard. I had the orange iced tea and it does have an aftertaste of orange which I liked. I had the fried corn croquet and takoyaki. They were both good, but nothing special. My husband had the strawberry sando, which would be hard to mess up honestly and he really enjoyed it. I think I like the drinks over the food overall. I would go back if I was in the area, but I rarely go to that city. read more

AMAZING choices here!! The flavors were new to me and wholly fulfilling. The options available for all sorts of dietary restrictions is quite vast and very considerate. Although many of the items can't be altered, there are still a lot to choose from. The drinks are bubbly and very familiar for any Asian drink lover. The sandwiches are very filling, but the more people you have, the more options you can try at the same time. It is quite a meal in it of itself. The desserts are unique and very flavorful, very authentic to the Japanese traditional dessert palette and flavors. Some of the saltier options are strange to me, but still very delicious. Each item, I feel, is meant to be shared amongst a group. This enhances, the overall eating experience and enjoyment of the space! The workers are helpful and very kind. They work very hard for the vast crowd. They do attract due to their specialty in flavors and foods offered. It's a cute cafe but I think it could really improve on some things. I got the mango boom which was ok but I didn't realize it had milk on it since it didn't list it on the menu and there wasn't an option to customize. Haven't tried the other things yet but wish they had more drinks to pair w the food since it seems like it's mostly food atm. This spot just opened up a couple weeks ago and I was really excited to try it! The inside is very minimalistic with LOTS of small seating. Even though I showed up 10 minutes after opening, almost all the seating was taken and the inside was bustling. I ordered on the kiosk, which had you enter your phone number and said it would send a text when the order was ready. Neither me nor my friend received texts that our food was ready, so we eventually went up to the counter and just grabbed our food. It seemed that everyone else was confused by this as well, as the staff was calling numbers over and over and no one would respond. This system felt a little inefficient, especially with the amount of people (and noise) in the cafe. After getting the food though, I was elated. The pork sandwich was crispy, warm, and topped with sauces. I also got a caramel pudding which tasted a bit egg-y to me, but my friend enjoyed it. The hojicha tea was larger than I expected and delicious! I was curious if they had non-dairy alternatives but there was no selection for it on the kiosk, so I just didn't bother. The shrimp cracker was HUGE, but didn't have much flavor aside from the actual shrimp smashed in there. I didn't think the cracker was worth the price, but everything else was reasonable! read more

Was so excited to try this place out for lunch. Came on Monday around noon, first thing we noticed on the kiosk was they were out of the Pork Sando. -_- was a little disappointed but ok. We then ordered the chicken sando, egg sando, mentaiko baguette and the caramel pudding. For drinks we ordered the mango boom and sweet orange tea. Chicken sando was good but needs more sauce and coleslaw. Egg sando was bland (besides the seasonings ontop) the flan/caramel pudding was also bland. Mango boom only had a hint of flavor. The best thing was the mentaiko baguette. What deducted the stars to be very low is.... not 1 not 2 or 3 of the spoons were DIRTY like still had food stuck to them. Also midway eating we overheard them telling the others that they ran out of chicken sando. Since it's their soft opening, hopefully things get fixed and it gets better read more

I had passed through here on my way back from Baltimore and my wife had been wanting to try this as she had seen this on social media. If you want to try viral foods that you see on travel shows then it is definitely worth the stop over. If you are looking for something more substantive as a meal more than a snack I would look elsewhere. The aesthetic is clean and warm. I was really excited to try this new Cafe in Catonsville. I've read about how busy it is so I probably placed an order at 11:30 when they opened and went to pick it up around 11:50. I ordered the pork and egg sandos and a drink with strawberry and pancotta. Upon arrival there was a lying out the door for seating. I could see our food sitting at the counter so grabbed it and left. I would love to eat in sometime, especially to try the pancakes but they are just way too swamped. I was thoroughly impressed with the sandwiches and the drink. The pork was crunchy and flavorful. I really like the cabbage although my husband did not and would have preferred it not be a sandwich. The egg was scrumptious. I normally don't like other people's egg salad but this was on another level. The bread on both was fresh and super tasty. The drink with the pancotta was really interesting and I love the crunchy ice aspect and all of the pieces of strawberry I was getting. They were slammed when I arrive after 12, thankfully after I placed my order I received a text message with my ETA so I just walked around Lotte to kill time. It took about twenty minutes to get my order of two drinks out but opening weekend so it was expected. I will give them about two weeks and try them again. Horrendous wait time, ordered a strawberry sando yet waited almost 30 minutes for it when it was just sitting there, no one called my number, when i went up to ask, not sure if that was my order or not, they didn't even check and just told me they would make it now. They check the bag after I go back and sit, come to find out that was my order this entire time. Not even busy, these kids just standing around not doing anything, they need to have better awareness and speed. If this is how it is when it's slow, I don't even want to imagine how it is when it gets busy. Will not be visiting again. read more
