This place is OK and it delivers. There's a wide selection and you can choose the amount of spice you want in your pho. The pho is greasy or oily though, it's not the light and healthy pho I like. Really great ramen. I'm no expert, but it was really delicious (and got the thumbs up from my Asian friends!) I came with some classmates and we were a group of 9, which is pretty big. The guy behind the counter was SO nice and helpful, trying to help us all sit together. The place was packed, but we didn't have to wait long for a table. I suspect that they'll be pretty busy most of the time, but turnover is quick so it's not too bad. read more

The ramen is quite delicious and they have a pretty big menu, but seating is limited so if you come when they're busy you might have to wait for a bit. We came once for restaurant week and got the matcha sundae for dessert and I was very pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth a trip. read more

Worst ramen ever! We will not go back again. We just came back from the one in Dublin. Gyoza were not even hot. My noodle was not cooked at all. You will get sick by eating raw noodle!! This place was packed when we came here on a Tuesday night. There was a line to be seated and it was sort of a cluster. There wasn't a system in place for when there is a wait, we were just told that there were 2 parties in front of us, but the cashier was responsible for keeping track of this, taking orders, and fulfilling drink requests. We ended up losing our place in line because of this, which was sort of annoying, but once we were seated the food was all really good. I tried the pork belly over rice, shoyu ramen, and curry. Ordering spicy food at a restaurant usually results in needing to add more spice on my own, but this place is legit. I ordered a 3/3 on the ramen and my mouth was on fire the whole meal. I would probably stick with a 2/3 next time. I tried the curry too, which was also really tasty. The pork belly and rice was good, but there was a ton of rice and not very much meat. We ended with some matcha green tea ice cream--It was so good! A perfect treat after a spicy meal. I've never had ramen before, but I would definitely recommend this place! I would probably just make a point to come back at an off time, so it's not super crowded. read more

It's pretty decent tonkatsu ramen. Not the best I've ever had. They are a little light ( more watery) from the actual tonkatsu pork broth that usually heavy. They have a good chili paste on the table that's deliciously spicy! read more

I've heard such great things from April R, Gwen, and the rest of the elite squad about this Ramen place that I bookmarked it, and couldn't wait to try it out. They close at 2:30 PM, and I hit a few road closures not reflected on Google maps, and detours, and arrived at the restaurant at 2:26 PM. The entire staff was present and waiting for an order. I asked if they minded a last minute order, and they said that not at all. I asked two servers what their favorite ramen was, and they both recommended the Shoyu ramen as their favorite. I decided to go with the recommendation, and must say that this was the least impressive ramen that I've ever had in my life. Granted it wasn't bad, a solid 3 stars, and the service was excellent, but I just found it disappointing. It might be that I should have went with the Tonkotsu ramen, in which case the staff should recommend that one as the first one to try. While eating, I saw a sign for free ice cream with a selfie. So I took a selfie, posted it, showed it to a staff member, and sure enough, free ice cream! The ice cream was also a three star ice cream in my book. I love matcha ice cream, and never had a cherry or plum blossom, so I got a twist, and it was just OK. While in Tokyo, I would walk into Ramen shops, look at the pictures in the machine, pick up, and go with it. We also have good ramen in Albany, NY. Maybe it's just not as established in Columbus? Very good ramen with an excellent rich and flavorful broth. The noodle and meat quality is very high with a great flavor. The food comes out about 5-15 minutes after you order it. It is very pricey but still good food. read more

First time visit, we were very excited to try ! We got there just in time because as soon as we sat down, the line out the door started forming ! Our boys got the fried chicken with a bowl of white rice. Kids review was two thumbs up, they ate everything! Randy got the Red Dragon bowl. Very spicy, packed with flavor and the noodles were amazing! I got the Tam, Tam... Perfect on the spice, loved the soft boiled egg and again, the noodles were fantastic! I was really really excited to try this place since they offer gluten free noodles, which meant I might be able to drag my celiac husband to finally get ramen with me (rather than flying solo like usual). I wanted to love this place. On first impression they had wonderful service, a knowledgable staff, cute decor, and a solid menu. Then I tried the tonkotsu ramen. It's.... Not ramen? It looks like ramen and has all the ingredients of typical ramen but for some reason doesn't taste like ramen to me. Don't get me wrong, it was a delicious soup, but definitely not what I expect flavor wise when I sit down for a bowl of ramen. Now to be fair I have never been to Japan, and my ramen palate is based on New York City ramen houses and the likes, so keep that in mind. Unfortunately for my hubby, I believe I will continue to fly solo at Meshikou for their ramen. Despite them taking the tonkotsu broth off the menu, their paitan broth still tastes more like a tonkotsu broth than the broth at Fukuryu and the noodles and toppings (especially the pork belly) taste much better to me. I really wish I could give the place 3.5 stars because overall it was a yummy bowl of soup with the best ramen soft egg I've ever had. Other than that though, the toppings (like leeks) took over a little too much of the overall flavor, the noodles were a little too thick, and the broth didn't have the right amount of savory flavor and thickness to call it a ramen in my opinion. read more

"The customer is King" -- well, defiantly not at Fukuryu Ramen on Lane Ave.!! Arrived at 8:44 pm -- shop was closing up (9 pm is listed hour of closure but everybody wanted a head start this evening -- chairs on tables, mopping, shutting it DOWN!) I get it, I guess -- but a "service" industry is here to SERVE. Should be for ALL posted hours. Start cleaning up AFTER you close. Just wanted some tasty green tea ice cream. We come from out of town and used to enjoy it each time I visited. It comes out of a "soft serve" type machine and I guess transaction would have engaged a cashier. Everybody gave us really dirty looks -- was rude and all but kicked us out. Not a smile in the house! TOTAL FAILURE of customer service = loss of customer and income$$$. No matter how good your stuff is, if you are rude you go out of business -- slowly but surely! The Red Dragon ramen DOES NOT PLAY, if you can't deal with very spicy food get something else. I got the second of three levels of spicy and I love hot food but this was on the cusp of being to much for me, my whole face was on fire. That being said it was absolutely delicious. I ate here for the fist time today and it was a great experience. I ordered the Red Dragon - Level 2. The spice level was just right for me if not a little on the high end. I have never had "real" Japanese Ramen before but this looks and tastes as good as I could have imagined it. Rich flavorful broth, fresh tasting noodles and it's loaded with tasty bits of this and that. We also shared an order of the JFC (Japanese Fried Chicken) and it was good, loved the sauce which accompanied it. I also compliment the service staff. Everyone I had an interaction with was friendly and helpful. As an example, the girl who delivered the JFC, upon hearing my feedback that My Ramen was a little on the spicy side, offered to bring a serving of milder broth if I wanted to even it out. The ramen was AMAZING! The noodles were cooked perfectly, the broth was flavorful, even the hard boiled egg (which I normally don't like) was good! I ordered the red dragon, which is supposed to be spicy. Usually when Americanized places say their food is spicy I end up adding hot sauce to get it to my spice level. I liked the atmosphere and the idea of a more casual, order at the counter approach to ramen. I think this type of format for ramen will get more and more popular now that ramen is really taking off around the US. The cashier greeted me with a genuine smile when I walked in, even though she was busy helping other customers. The tonkotsu ramen was small for the price compared to other ramen restaurants and the broth was bland. I had to add salt, which seems almost sacrilege at a ramen place. You could also tell they sliced the pork thinner than more places to save money. Once I added salt, it was okay.
