Zundo is located on High Street below an apartment complex. They have parking at the back of the apartment. The place is very anime Japanese painted. Decor is clean and plenty of space and tables to sit. Food is good. The Ramen was very good. The chashu was little fatty for my liking. The eel was fine, little fishy but overall good. Overall a solid 4 The service is good. They have several Asian beers and great cocktail selections to choose from. read more

This is somewhat handy for me, and if you're anywhere near campus it is easy to get to. It's a chain out of Cinci, and it has things down pretty well. They have a big menu with lots of things that interested me. I figured I ought to get ramen at a ramen place, and it's a cool grey day so it's also appropriate. They have ramen, katsu, donburi, and more. I got the spicy miso ramen. A fair-sized bowl, with what felt like a sparse amount of pork, a hardboiled egg, and plenty of noodles and broth, plus a few veggies. It was pretty good. Not the best ramen I've had, but middle of the pack. Decent broth, good noodles. Moderately spicy, nothing crazy. Also got seaweed salad to start, but they both came out pretty darn quickly. The salad was good, and was actually a salad- that is, there were microgreens underneath, first time I've ever seen that. They added a nice different crunch. Plenty of seating options inside, and a bar. Fair-sized patio out front. Parking was fine mid-day mid-week, but of course can get a little crazy. Great service. Decent prices. Good food. My husband and I just stopped here before we saw a movie. I've passed it several times and always been curious to try it. We both got the tonkatsu ramen, but I got mine spicy and with bok choy. We both really loved our meals. It was delicious and the pork was so tender, it just melted in your mouth. The waitress was really friendly. My husband also got the frozen mango margarita. I'm not a drinker and am very sensitive to the taste of alcohol, so believe me when I say it did not taste like alcohol at all. The only downside was the restaurant was pretty loud, it was at times hard to hear each other speak. But not a big deal to me honestly. read more

Other than ramen, they do have some unique option from the appetizer and donburi [Japanese rice bowl] front. Such as soft shell crab, Kaki Fry [Deep Fried Oyster] and Loco Moco Don [Rice bowl with beef patty and egg]. Plus, some selection of fruit and bubble tea. One thing to highlight for their ramen is from the ramen broth to the ramen noodles, everything are freshly made in house from scratch. I got myself a Tonkotsu Ramen and love the broth is super rich and flavorful. Along with the chashu that are tender and slightly charred. And please give a moment to the Katsu Don, rice bowl topped with deep-fried pork cutlets with egg, green onion and ginger. First of all, that perfectly cook pork cutlet is juicy, along with the egg and onion. Flavor is totally on point and I just want to encore on the rice for it. The service was great! I was really cold sitting directly under the AC vent, and they switched us to another table without issue. The tonkotsu ramen and katsudon curry rice were okay. Peanut and tree nut allergy safe. At the time of this review this restaurant doesn't use any peanuts or peanut oil. Called ahead to ask about allergy and asked at the table and they took everything very seriously and were extremely thorough with ingredients and cross contamination. The waitress was especially nice and professional with being asked multiple questions. The food itself was also delicious. I ordered a couple appetizers and onigiri. Cucumber salad was refreshing and fresh. Tatsu-age was crisp and flavorful with a lemon on the side to squeeze on it. The two onigiri (salmon and mentaiko) tasted great and had a good ratio of filling to rice. I haven't had anything else on the menu so I can't speak on those items but everything I ordered I was very pleased with. Overall a peaceful and relaxing lunch. Wow the noodles on this ramen, best I have ever had hands down. And the pork belly was thick and melted in my mouth. The jammy egg was perfect. The broth was good but not the best I've ever had, the chili oil leveled it up. It was a little dead in there when we first arrived but it's still new of course. Service was friendly and attentive. For just opening about a week ago, I'm super impressed with this restaurant! Our server Christian was literally perfect - super welcoming and kind, and checked in on us just the right amount. My partner and I decided to split the katsu don entree and 2 starters, and I'm really glad that we did. The katsu don was not bad at all, but definitely not the best I've had; but the quality was understandable for a new restaurant and I'm sure will get better over time. I felt like it was just missing something, just a tad bland. However, the starters were really really good! The geso karaage was way crispier than it looks and perfect for a squid or calamari lover like myself. The takoyaki was some of the best I've had, very flavorful and perfectly done. My partner and I were full after splitting both starters and maybe half of the katsu don. Even if the donburi was way better next time, I would still consider ordering 2 starters to share with an entree just to try more and have the variety. I also ordered the Signature Fruit Tea, which was well balanced between real tea taste and sweetness. It had 2 orange slices and 1 lemon slice. Last note for the management: It was only mildly irritating, but the timed light in the women's restroom needs a longer time on. I had to wildly wave my arm around several times so I wasn't in complete dark lol. Overall, I had a really great experience dining in! The ramen was pretty great! Partner and I got the tonkotsu and the shoyu ramen. The tonkotsu was thick but not too thick and was both of our favorites. The shoyu was good too and we could definitely taste the seafood components of the dish! Our server was attentive and was good at filling water when needed and checking in as needed. My girlfriend and I love trying every ramen spot in town, and Zundo has quickly become our favorite. The broths are authentic and fresh, the service is excellent and efficient, and the environment is casual enough to stop in after a workout but fancy enough for date night. I definitely had high hopes, but honestly the food was just mediocre. I had the una don (eel) and it was very salty and I thought the scrambled egg added to the bowl was a weird choice. Even without the tip added to my bill, it felt overpriced. Maybe I should have gotten the ramen. I would be willing to give this place another chance. read more
