(I never get sashimi so Idk about the quality of that) The service is great- we never have to wait too long to get seated or for our food. They have daily specials going on all the time which is awesome & saves you a few bucks. Overall, I'd recommend for a date night, or dinner with friends, etc. I can't say too much about their non-sushi food options. Consistently delicious. We went on a Tuesday night and it was PACKED. without reservations, we were able to be seated within 15 minutes. I ordered the miso soup with fat lady rolls and nigori. Parking: plenty available - shared open lot parking spaces. Ambience: there's a bar, booth, and high and low table setting options. Near the bar are tvs playing things like sports. Smells like delicious food. Service: good. The kitchen was backed up and things took a while to come out but our server was great- checked on us and gave us updates. Quality: high quality food. This was a new place for me which liked even though it was crowded, the server was all over the place I'm glad yes did a decent job keeping up with the order and make sure we had what we ordered, on Wednesday they have a 50% off on drinks which is nice and the food was fresh and flavorful. This was INCREDIBLE. The King Tuna roll actually blew my mind... hands down the best sushi roll I've ever had. The dynamite roll was delicious as well (but spicy) and the salmon sashimi was the best I've had in Columbus. Plus Sapporo on tap! Hit the BOGO deal on Tuesday which made it a great deal. Fantastic! Very personal setting, nice dining space as well as a number of seats right at the bar where the chefs are preparing the meals. Very diverse menu and everything we've tried has been great. The special rolls were our favorites, the spicy shrimp as well as the spicy scallops. The team of servers seemed to know their way around the menu and ingredients and are attentive to drinks and appetizers. I stopped at Fugu Sushi after I saw they had decent reviews. I wish my review could be as glowing however my experience wasn't as exceptional. They sat me at the bar. There is the sushi bar on one side and the bar on the other side. My server was attentive as I was at the bar. I ordered a seaweed salad and a bento box with steak. It took awhile to get my meal. The seasweed salad was good, however everything in the bento box was cold. Not cool, cold! It was not appetizing trying to eat cold meat. I ended up only eating the sushi rolls and taking the rest home. I am not sure if the server was going to make it right or not, but I just boxed it up to go. A little disappointing. read more

We came here on a Thursday evening. The staff immediately greeted us and told us they would be with us shortly. We were seated at a front booth. My husband ordered a fugu margarita and I settled for a Shirley temple. The Cocktail was half off ($5.50). We ordered a Philadelphia Roll (salmon, cream cheese, cucumber), King Roll (salmon, yellowtail, tuna with three different colored roe on top), and the Fugu Roll (shrimp tempura, avocado, lobster salad and sauce on top). The salmon in the Philadelphia Roll smelled and tasted a little 'fishy' to both me and my husband, and the King Roll didn't have much flavor without the soy sauce. But, we both really enjoyed the Fugu Roll, and as an aside, I thought that the different colored roe on top of the King Roll was creative and cute! read more

I'm OBSESSED with there fat lady roll I get that everytime I go the service is great I will say if you go later in the day they get busy so just be aware of that but besides that everything is great. I love how clean it is inside. they make the sushi where you can see it I love that. Stopped by Fugu Sushi for to go lunch! It's super affordable, fast and convenient. I got the salmon teriyaki bento box that comes with a miso soup or salad, shumai and a California roll. I also got the 3 sushi roll lunch combo (eel avocado, spicy crunch salmon and shrimp tempura). Both combos were $12.95 each! It only took 15-20 mins to prepare so call ahead and pick up. It's also a great place for dining in alone, with a date or in a group setting. The last time I dined in, we got a sushi boat and some sake. Super affordable as well. The only downside about our last in person visit was that the waitress had chased after us because they forgot to charge a drink on our bill. It was kind of embarrassing so my boyfriend refuses to go back here but for the quality of food and price, it's not a bad deal. read more

Update! Ok, so I have been back THREE times since I posted my review and I waited to update the review to ensure that the changes that had been made were consistent and they are! I am so darn happy! The specialty rolls are back to their normal size. They're large, super filling, and worth the $10 - $15 you spend on the specialty rolls. The staff has definitely become much more friendly. I am definitely happy with these changes and am going to give Fugu the five stars I believed they deserved when I first started frequenting the place four years ago and deserve now. I highly recommend the Fugu Sushi Combo (3 tuna, 3 yellowtail, 3 salmon, a salmon roll, and miso soup or a salad). Soooo good, and priced very competitively. The Spicy Scallop Crunch Roll, and Kani Salad (crab meat, fish roe, and fresh cucumbers slices in a spicy, light mayo-based sauce) are also S-L-A-M-M-I-N. Above and beyond the best sushi I've had in the east-side area. I'd give it a 4.5, but there're no options for half stars (yet?). Also, the pricing is what I'd consider on the lower side for a sushi/fresh fish establishment. It's all appropriately priced, considering the amount of food you get. 2 Spicy Scallop Crunch rolls, an order of Mackerel sushi (2 pcs), and the Fugu Sushi Combo (9 pcs sushi, a roll, and miso soup) is right around $30! The food here was okay in my opinion. There wasn't anything in particular that we ordered that blew my mind. I did like that they had a bento lunch special for 12.95! It came with a choice of meat (chicken, beef, salmon, shrimp, tofu, katsu or tempura), miso soup, California roll and shumai. I also ordered the any 3 rolls which were about $10.
