I read positive reviews of Fulani which prompted me to take an Uber across Brooklyn to have my reception dress tailored there. They quoted me a reasonable price of $85 to have the dress taken in slightly and to sew down an embellishment on each of the sleeves so that they didn't stick out. When I arrived at their requested time (Saturday after 5PM with cash) to pick up the dress, I found that it hadn't been steamed or pressed which made it hard to tell if the new fit was good through all of the wrinkles. They had also sewn the embellishment on one sleeve but had forgotten the other so I had to wait around while they fixed it. To their credit, they were apologetic about it. I guess you get what you pay for as I did not get the attention to detail I would have expected at more pricey tailors. Now I need to take the same clean and tailored dress to be steamed and am being quoted $150 for steaming. Had I taken the dress to a place that would have tailored and steamed, I think altogether it would have cost me less than bringing it to Fulani and then having to find a dry cleaner as well. read more

Terrible job. Asked him to hem two pairs of pants and bring in the wastes. Pants were of course too small and when he cut material off the back part of the waste, it was uneven and looks ridiculous. How hard is it to cut two sides the same length? DO NOT GO BACK. Now I have to find another tailor to fix his awful work. read more

I've been looking for a good tailor for a very long time. Clothes make the man, but a good tailor is the one that makes the clothes look right. After reading all of the reviews for Fulani, I decided to roll the dice and check it out. I brought in two of my favorite shirts to get taken in and was told to pick them up 3 weeks later. I wasn't in any rush so the time frame did me good. I was nervous as I really loved these shirts, but low and behold AB did a wonderful job. He's very friendly, knows what he's doing and the prices are reasonable. I will definitely be back with more alterations and am so glad that I have finally found a great tailor. read more

I am really hard on my suits, so instead of bespoke or MTM suits, I tend to buy extremely cheap 100% wool suits off-the-rack. Taking them to Fulani for judicious tailoring (based on AB's excellent recommendations) makes them look almost as good as a bespoke suit would. If I had a simple job that I needed done right away, I would probably go to my local dry cleaner, since his turnaround time is usually measured in weeks and not hours or days, but for a perfectly tailored suit, I won't go anywhere else. read more

I'm not a big review guy but simply put Fulani is the best in Brooklyn. I've used dozens of tailors but over at Fulani, they just "get it". I brought in some old sport coats and pants I stopped wearing to take a shot at bringing them back to life so to speak. They clothes were good quality but an old fashion boxy fit just made them not wearable. I've done this alteration before at other tailors but no one came close to the perfection that Fulani delivered. Even he finished I had practically brand new clothes. I'm wearing one of the sport coats as I write this and I had the work done weeks ago. I got so many compliments today, I had to hop on yelp to praise their work. I had high hopes for Fulani after reading the positive reviews but am very disappointed. It took three trips before I got my pants back and when I did they were handed to me as a dirty wrinkled pile. The first trip I was told that my pants were finished but at another location. The second time the person there couldn't find them and said I would have to wait for the owner. When I got them I expected that they would be clean and wrinkle free like they were when I brought them in. He charged me $30 to hem two pairs of pants. For that he could have at least returned them on a hanger. He didn't even give me a bag to carry them. I have a bunch of suits that need tailoring but Fulani will not be getting my business. read more

I brought two pairs of pants to be tailored here. They were a little baggy and I wanted them slim fitting. I was promised that they would look great. After two weeks I went back and they were more like circus pants than dress pants. Slim at the bottom but baggy thighs. After I pointed that out (why did I have to point this out), I was promised they would be fixed. When I got them again a couple of days later, they has been altered again, but now there are little bulges of fabric at my hips. I gave up and will take the pants elsewhere. $100 down the drain. read more

Needed to find a good quality tailor for a minor seam stitching on a business suit skirt and saw this place on yelp. Good location, right in the heart of Atlantic Ave near Barclays Centre but just far enough from the crowds. Store was immaculate and displays were very professional and stylish. Looked like the place also did a lot of quality tailoring for men's suits. Was welcomed by a nice gentleman very polite and professional and he immediately took care of the alteration on the spot. I sat down to wait and before I could get comfortable it was all done! Excellent job and now my skirt looks just like new. I even got a discount because it was such a minor job. I was so pleased! We took in a men's vintage coat to be made smaller. AB restored the inside and made the coat fit to perfection! He also restored another suede coat with a ripped shoulder - the tear is now totally invisible. Easily the greatest tailor I have visited. Brought in two vintage jackets/blazers from the 70s that I inherited from my Grandfather. I went in fully aware that very few modifications needed to be made (take it in a bit, push down the shoulder pads), and I was very happy to hear that AB, the owner, agreed. After reading plenty of reviews and articles that said a job like this would be super expensive, AB shot me straight and quoted me a very affordable price. Fulani Boutique is the first tailor I've been to and the experience was great. I got a suit from a different business for a wedding, but the fit wasn't quite perfect. By the time I realized this, I basically needed the alterations turned around in a week. I am a pretty thin guy and needed the sleeves shortened a little, the pants shortened and tapered, and the stomach of the jacket brought in. I went to Fulani Boutique and the owner was very kind and personable, and said she could definitely get it done for me with a day to spare just in case any further alterations were needed. She completely understood the fit and look that I wanted, and when I came back in a week to try it on, the suit was perfect, with no further work needed. I have never written a yelp review, but I had to write one for Fulani. I bought a great wool coat on a black friday sale. Only problem was I bought it online. It turned out to be too big and impossible to get a smaller size for the same price... off to get it altered! I found that Fulani got mostly good reviews and it is close to where I live, so I took it in to see what could be done. The proprietor, AB, was extremely nice and marked all the alterations to be made with chalk (a good sign). He told me that it would be ready in 8 days. It took 1 day longer than expected, but that was because there was no center seam (or something along those lines), which meant that several alterations were required to slim it, instead of just one. Now onto the coat. It looks amazing! Infinitely better than when I took it in. You can't even tell anything was done to it (as far as stitching goes, not fit), the stitching looks very secure, and the price of all the alterations was very reasonable (significantly less than what I am used to). AB was friendly as always when I went in to pick it up and made sure that everything was perfect. I will definitely be a repeat customer! read more

AB is the man. I showed up with a suit (after he was already closed!) about 4 sizes too big (I lost weight) that I needed slimed in 3 days for wedding. He told me he wasn't going to work on it-that he could do it-but he didn't want to rip me off-it was just too big and also too long. He was honest from the start. Panic set in. I got home and, amazingly found this other suit that was just a little too big. I called him and he was STILL THERE! He said "come back just try to hurry" so I ran there with this other suit. This was on a Wednesday and I needed it done by Friday. He said he could do it. Thursday he called me at work telling me it was done, so I came there and I looked like a frickin rock star!
