After a weekend of hanging downtown decides to go to Fullbelly as we live the location in Sonterra. Upon arrival we noticed the sign was much different than the location in Sonterra Is also larger in the inside with a minimalist decor. We were promptly sat as it was not very busy. It took a little while for someone to come to our table and take our order. My wife ordered the Mexican Hot Chocolate and I a regular coffee. The Mexican Hot Chocolate was a little flat and lacked the richness that a Mexican Hot Chocolate usually has. The coffee was a little weak for my taste but that is subjective. We started with the Buttermilk Biscuits and Sausage Gravy , the biscuits we moist and flaky but cold, the sausage gravy was more like gravy poured over sausage and biscuits ( we're not cooked together ). My wife ordered the Basic Breaky (eggs, bacon, potatoes milk bread toast). The eggs were cooked right and the bacon was good. Nothing special about it but is is the basic breaky. I order the shrimp and grits, seasoned shrimp with the tail in top of cheese grits, and a tomato based sauce. The shrimp were seasoned well and cooked pretty decent. The grits weren't as cheesy as expected but still good. The tomato based sauce threw off the balance of the meal and did not belong . Overall, I can say that this location does not provide the same experience service wise or food quality as the Sonterra location. I will stick to that location. read more

We made a reservation, but when we arrived we were told that she couldn't find it. We were seated promptly, as the restaurant had plenty open seating. We ordered the biscuits and gravy. I'm used to the gravy being cooked with the sausage. This seemed more like a deconstructed version. While the gravy was hot the biscuits were cold. The gravy lacked seasoning. I'm salt sensitive, but had to add salt and pepper to the dish to add flavor. The breakfast plate was your usual breakfast dish. It was good. I've eaten at both locations and I think I prefer the food at the other location to this one. read more

Full belly never disappoints in flavor! This was my first time at this location, and the food is just as good as the original. Unfortunately, my pineapple Brie appetizer, didn't have any Brie! It was so good that I didn't even realize it until I looked at the menu again, but still... The chorizo hash was OMG delish. The side of focaccia with blueberry jam was okay; there are probably better choices. The service was excellent; we were the only ones there. I love this newer location for Full Belly. They have so much seating and a wonderful open kitchen and bar area to add to a fun vibe. I have been several times and the service has always been wonderful and the food is consistently good. The BLT was definitely a mouthful, loaded with bacon and the portions for all of the entrees are so generous. The mimosas are a great deal and for the non alcoholic side, the coffee drinks and lattes are great! I want to try the sharable cinnamon bun but it's so big, I have not ordered it yet. I came here for my birthday brunch with my family. It was so delicious, the service was great and the prices were really reasonable! While they don't have a kids menu, you can order plain pancakes, grilled cheese or chicken strips. My toddler loved the pancakes. The portions were huge for everyone- half of us had half of our meals to take home! We ordered a cinnamon roll for the table- yummy and huge!!! The icing isn't too sweet, so it's a must try! I saw reservations were offered, so I made them, especially on a Saturday. It's a big place, beautifully set up. We were sat right away. The service was good, it was busy as expected on a Saturday. The food was AMAZING! I looked at the menu the night before and was excited! So many good selections, I decided on the pulled pork eggs Benedict. Flavor was perfect. Great service and food just like their other location. Nothing but the best from these guys! This location is quite a bit larger and has beautiful fuchsia marble floors. The bar is right in the center and surrounded by an abundance of natural lighting from all the large windows. There is plenty of seating for larger groups. I'm so glad to see they keep expanding as they deserve it with their quality of food. I recently had their BLT, and let me tell you, it should be called a BBLT (they are not skimpy with the bacon like some places)...delicious! My first impression was 'wow this place is loud.' The design and openness lead to a lot of echoing. However, I snagged a table in the back corner where the noise was less. The menu is a mainly a dinner version of breakfast. The service was nice, but he was the only server on the floor. They had one bartender. I went for the pineapple brie bruschetta. The taste grew on me, but it was not what I expected. The bread was not toasted .. just thick. The brie was somehow made into a creamy queso. There were a lot of poblano peppers. We were a Party of Three for a birthday brunch. We had made reservations, but we were able to just walk in. We ordered the Who's Hanzo drink. It was a very refreshing, perfect summer drink. We also ordered a salted caramel latte, very rich. I ordered the pecan pie French toast, roasted pineapple and bruschetta, and the lobster eggs Benny. Then, we ordered a side of bacon and a side of maple sausage. All of our food came out in a timely fashion, and I could not say one bad thing about any of our dishes. Everything was well flavored. Really enjoyed this location. I've come twice for brunch and both experiences were great. Easy to reserve a table and they have a good amount of parking for the shopping center. The layout of the restaurant is great. I like the bar area in the middle and tables around. I ordered the sardou eggs Benny and mimosa. I like the sardou eggs Benny as a hearty vegetarian option, the dish packed with spinach artichoke and they execute the poached eggs perfectly. I came into this location yesterday with Thing Two to get some breakfast before we headed off to the museum. I wanted to come to this location to give the new kids a try, and this is how it went... We came into this location at about 840 ish, and there were very few customers at the time we arrived, and as such, I was hoping for a speedy breakfast service. Within minutes after being seated, our waiter approached the table and asked if we'd like drinks. Although I already had my java at home prior to arriving, I elected to order another cup when here. I ordered the caramel sea salt latte. The java has a rich flavor profile that is predominantly sweet. The salted caramel in this java creates a contrast that enhances the complexity of the caramel's flavo. Aside from this java, we ordered the following: Red Velvet Pancakes: Thing Two ordered this menu item. These pancakes have cocoa undertones and balance both chocolate and vanilla flavors. The pancakes had a slightly less subtle cocoa flavor and tanginess due to the buttermilk and vinegar within the batter. The pancakes weren't extraordinarily fluffy and had a bit of a crunch, which can be accredited to the semi toasted pancake edges. The packages were topped with powdered sugar and butter. When the pancakes arrived at the table, the glob of butter atop the pancakes had fallen to the side of the stack; this did not take away from the buttery top layer of the stack. Ting Two and I found the pancakes to be thick and very sweet, so much so that these pancakes could have been served as a dessert item. Lobster Benny: This lobster benedict recipe is a luxurious breakfast and brunch dish that is perfect for lobster season! Grilled sourdough is the bed for butter poached lobster meat, which is topped with a beautiful poached egg covered in rich and creamy hollandaise sauce. It's absolute decadence. The sweet lobster meat and butter made for a savory and rich combination. The diced potatoes served with the dish were browned and perfectly crunchy. However, my plate was served to me lukewarm. Who wants lukewarm poached eggs? No one! While the food served here is memorable, the speed at which the food was served could use some work. While we waited for the food to be served, the waiter did apologize for the time it took for the food to come to the table. It's difficult to understand why the food took so long to come to the table when the establishment didn't have many customers at the time of arrival. Other customers came into the establishment about 20 minutes after our arrival after our order was already placed. This location has an extensive drink menu and serves beer, wine, champagne, and hard kombucha. The menu has breakfast, brunch, and lunch items. The decor in this location is minimalistic, and because of the clean decor, the whole restaurant can be seen for any seat in the house. The kitchen is open, and the staff can be seen working in the back of the house. A classic brunch spot and perfect for the neighborhood! Our waitress was Dez and she was very sweet and kind! We started with the cinnamon roll and requested it to be warmed up. It was GIANT and really hit the spot. I would say it can easily feed a family of 6 it was so big! My fiancé got the Not your Mama's breakfast sandwich. He said it was classic and cooked well but needed a little more flavor. The potatoes were great! A nice crispy potato with a satisfying crunch. Lucy was amazing. She was our server but she felt like family. She suggested the appetizers of baked Brie, we also ordered the focaccia bread. Both were amazing. This location is super huge compared to the stone oak one. We had a seven person reservation but one person couldn't come. Never had a bad meal. And this kept the tradition alive. Husband had the avocado toast. I had the chicken and doughnuts. My brother had a muffuletta. Sister in law had the Diablo eggs. We loved it all. I enjoyed the pink floor. My Husband and I was looking for a new place to try and found a New American restaurant and thought to give it a go. Full Belly has been opened for almost a month. They serve breakfast, brunch and lunch and dinner on weekends. The menu looking promising. My husband ordered an appetizer, Toasted Pineapple & Brie Bruschetta and the Belly Lover's Burger with bacon and avocado added. The Burger comes with French Fries. I ordered the "Soon To Be Famous Fried Chicken" which included a crispy boneless breast and in-bone thigh, sweet & spicy green beans, corn pudding and hot honey syrup. I also ordered a glass of red wine. Well, the waiter was pleasant enough but we were not impressed with the food. The best part of the bruschetta was the pineapple chunks. The "toasted" bread was mushy and reminded me of slightly soggy toasted crustless white bread topped with bacon chips (overly cooked and hardened bacon) with melted cheese and pineapple chunks dipped in melted cheese. I personally couldn't get past one small piece. My husband's burger came out with no bacon and no avocado. The 2 patties on the burger looked home pressed and I was hopeful when I grabbed a piece of meat that felt off the main patty but it was tasteless. I told my husband that he may need salt and pepper for his burger. Fortunately, my husband said the main portion of the burger was adequately seasoned. Too bad for the missing bacon and avocado. On the up side, the waiter did offer to have it remade but my food was already out so we opted to not wait for his burger to be remade. My "Soon To Be Famous Fried Chicken" looked fairly average. The chicken thigh looked like a piece was missing from the shape of the breading. While it was cooked well and tasted good, there was not special to it. The green beans were neither sweet nor spicy. In the positive side, it was not overcooked and had a nice crunch. The corn pudding that came with the meal was nothing more than flavorless cornbread. It definitely needed something. The "hot honey syrup" that came with the meal did not help the chicken, green beans or the corn bread. My Hess "Maverick Ranches" Cabernet Sauvignon made my meal tolerable. Nice gray tones. Some high chair tables up front and regular tables toward the back. I ordered the Lobster Benny and the husband had the Not Yet Famous Fried Chicken. My Benny was on sourdough bread, not the usual muffin. The lobster mix quantity was sufficient and tasty. My husband felt that the chicken whole good, was just fried chicken. It came with glazed green beans and a corn soufflé. I had a regular coffee which was pretty good. Also offered is lattes, Mexican chocolate and other coffees. The beer and liquor menu is pretty extensive. They are open for dinner Friday and Saturday evenings. Don't expect a separate menu for dinner. Oh my goodness! I have always wanted to try this gem but was never able to make it. Today was my lucky day. First off the Brown Butter Cinnamon Roll was perfect! I have a gluten sensitivity/allergy and I broke my diet to have this gem. Our waitress was so kind and helpful. She made the experience very calming (anxiety about food containing gluten). The Piquillo pepper appetizer arrived in 20 minutes, but still no Bloody Mary. The 3 peppers were lukewarm in a brown sauce that I'm guessing was derived from Barbacoa. It was tasteless. The Bloody Mary arrived as we were finishing the peppers. Meh. We then waited another 20 minutes for our eggs. The eggs were very good and served in cast iron pans with excellent focaccia on the side. Our waitress checked on us after the eggs arrived and refilled waters. I know there's one in Stone Oak and Olmos, on McCullough. more than likely the menus are kind of close and it was 1230 on a Tuesday and a group of 11 ladies from Meet Up Dot Com came in. Some people weren't that crazy about their food and this appetizer, which was really an entree for me was really good! I heard the fried chicken wasn't very moist inside that fat breading. I was so excited to eat here after reading all the yelp reviews. The food looked amazing. We had a 1:30pm reservation and it wasn't crowded at all. My husband asked what coffee they had and after the waitress told him all the specialties, he ordered the crème brûlée coffee and she quickly told him they were out of that one. I then ordered the pecan pie French toast with a side of eggs and bacon. The waitress came back 10 minutes later and said they were out of bacon. About 20 minutes later our food comes out. My French toast had ZERO pecans. When we told the waitress she said they were out of pecans!! My French toast was simply grilled bread with whipped cream. I didn't eat more than 2 bites. We were very disappointed in the food and service. We drove 2 hours to eat here. Never again. read more

Everything is made fresh and thinking back, I believe the other location did have a longer wait time for the food to come out as well. With that said, please do not let that deter you from visiting. I just wouldn't go if you are short on time or so hungry that it would ruin your experience. For us we were ready to catch up as a family and enjoy our drinks until our food was ready. We visited for Mother's Day and appreciated the special menu, but were disappointed by the lack of flexibility. Unfortunately, no modifications were allowed--even for something as simple as changing the style of eggs. I requested my fried egg cooked medium, and our child wanted scrambled instead of poached, but we were told substitutions weren't possible. Our server was kind and did try to accommodate us, but ultimately couldn't make it happen. Choosing how your eggs are cooked feels like a basic personal preference, so that was frustrating. Additionally, my sandwich was mostly bread with very little filling, and the portion sizes for the main dishes were quite small, with the plates heavily padded with potatoes. Super cute brunch/breakfast spot that just opened by the Olmos circle. The space has been completely renovated with a central modern bar. The menu is really creative with things like pineapple and brie bruschetta and cast iron egg skillets. I was super excited to see eggs sardou this far south of New Orleans. If you are needing something the morning after the night before the menu also has some heavier items like barbacoa and Springer Hill farm burger. The wait staff were really friendly and service was prompt. Currently open Mon to Fri 8-3 and until 4PM on the weekend. Just opened! We had great experience both visits because of the yummy food, but mostly because of the attentive and friendly service. I love a restaurant where the manager owner is actively working the room and checking on how things are going and making adjustments. It really shows in the great quality of food and service.
