I looked forward to this experience, but couldn't have been more disappointed. After arriving, we were told that only outdoor seating was available, which is completely understandable for Sunday brunch. After that, it took another 15 minutes before we were acknowledged for water. I ordered a juice which came some time later. The server eventually took our order and shared she didn't know if what we ordered was even available. After taking our order, several other tables arrived and our server failed to return to check on us. We also noticed another customer who arrived after us got served their meal promptly, but only after they went inside three separate times to very loudly complain. To be fair, that customer arrived with a chip on their shoulder. After over 30 minutes, the server finally retuned and told us they never entered our order and asked if we still wanted it. We stated we wanted to leave, but then she pressed us to pay for my drink order. I was surprised, but agreed to pay. She took my cash payment and rushed inside to check with her manager. She returned my cash and said I didn't have to pay, but never apologized. The only high point was that another staff member noticed how hot it was becoming and set up an umbrella, which definitely helped. Ordered chicken tenders with biscuits and gravy on my third visit, and the chicken was straight up RAW. When they took it back, they re-cooked the chicken to BURNT, and didn't even start my whole plate over. Mind you, this raw chicken was cut IN the gravy. by the time they gave me my burnt chicken, my biscuits and gravy were cold. This restaurant is known for being busy at times, and this was my third visit. My first visit was absolutely amazing, which prompted my second visit. My second visit, it was pretty busy and my food was kind of warm. I ordered my son a grilled cheese and basil, tomato soup, and his soup was warm around the outside, and cold in the middle. Great find near downtown San Antonio for breakfast. The restaurant is cozy yet bright and airy with indoor and outdoor seating. The food is amazing here. The hash browns are very thin shreds of potatoes lightly crisped and not greasy. Eggs are buttery smooth and not cooked a second longer than necessary. Finally made it to Beau's in Southtown for a late lunch. I have heard good things about it and we were not disappointed. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with beer and wine available. My wife and I had the tuna sandwich and the patty melt. Both were outstanding, and very sizable. We are a little older, and easily could have split a sandwich. Both orders came with their version of French fries which were crinkle cut discs and done absolutely perfectly. The service was attentive and cordial. There were four of us, so we got to try several things this morning. The burrito was a hit and I loved the (creamy jalapeño?) sauce on the side, my French omelet and crispy hash browns were mildly over salted but delicious. The music *Neil Young and The Doors felt perfect, though later was no match for the place across the street lol* The service was great, really cool, friendly staff. My husband loved the biscuits and gravy. I got the chicken and waffles, really juicy, crunchy chicken that might have stolen the show from the waffle, poor thing was flattened beneath the chicken. The kids got the pancakes and they were truly huge. We should have gotten them one pancake to split vs sharing the one order that comes with two. I don't want to dislike anything because the place is so cute, and the people are so nice and I loved the experience but the pancake wasn't great. I don't think it was fully cooked and was just super dense. I love pancakes, and this one was indeed huge but didn't taste great to me. Other than that when we're back in town we'll be back. Friendly, cute, delicious. We went on a Saturday night, but early, so it was easy to get a table. I was surprised they gave us such tiny water glasses (about 8 oz) but they constantly refilled them throughout the meal, making me feel really cared for. The staff was very friendly. The manager, Tony, came over and talked to every table: he is just delightful. We ordered meatloaf and the green chicken enchiladas. It was all very good. They serve breakfast all day here. This restaurant is truly a tiny gem. They have a wonderful breakfast menu. My friend and I got the chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, and one pancake, all of which were delicious. I will say this is truly a tiny diner so on the weekends, you may have a bit of a wait. Also, it will be difficult to accommodate parties larger than four. One of the best small diners I've ever been to. Beau's Tiny Diner is a true gem in San Antonio, and every visit feels special. The food is absolutely delicious. Their breakfast burrito is hands down the BEST I've found since moving back from LA. Beau's is a new diner in Little Em's old corner spot on South Alamo. It has a no frills interior with an open kitchen and a small dining room. When we sat down the server was kind and attentive but we quickly ran into an issue ordering. They were out of almost everything we asked for. I first tried to order the meatloaf with mashed potatoes which they first said they were out of and then later retracted that but then came back again to say that they were in fact out of mashed potatoes. My mother asked for a salad to which they said they had nearly run out of lettuce and did not have enough to make a full salad. We each got our second choice which for me was a wrap and for her was a tuna salad sandwich. We also ordered two iced teas which we did not drink because they tasted very strange. Our food was good when it came, but noting that would make us return. Maybe since it's new it's going through some growing pains with supply issues but overall it seems like a relatively decent place for a quick bite. read more

Bacon, eggs, toast, hash browns, etc had obviously been sitting and were not fresh. We were offered an option of putting our plates in a warmer. We opted to leave at that time since only 2 of the 4 plates had come out and one order was incorrect. The two tables that were seated after us received their food, ate, and left before we were served. We were asked to choose a second option 15 minutes after our order was initially placed (or not placed? - seems like our ticket wasn't entered for some time) because they ran out of what we ordered. I'm giving this place 4 stars because I think the direction and potential are present, but some things need to be addressed. First, the food was delicious. I had the diner plate. Hash browns were well seasoned, eggs cooked to perfection and toast was just right, fresh, and not overly or underly buttered. Second, the place is small but cozy and clean. This place is NOT for large groups. A family of 11, took up 3 tables and were louder than the kitchen and the music. That's not on Beau's. That's on those reading this review. I understand a group of 6 but in a small place like this, be considerate. Maybe not best for 5 children under 5 at 8 am. Asks of Beau's: You need a heating lamp for the food waiting to be served. It sat on the counter and with the fans going, got cold fast. Our table was right by the counter (not far to travel) yet the gravy was ice cold by the time it came to us. Add another person to check on folks, refill coffee, run plates, clean tables, seat folks, answer questions. Their job is to do every other job thats needed in the moment that's not waiting a table or cooking. Breakfast is for breakfast. Until you become a well-oiled machine, I'd recommend breakfast only 8-11:30. Two people had chicken fried steak with green beans and a shake. And all the other tables that ordered breakfast were waiting, waiting, waiting. Once their dinner order was out, then people started getting breakfast. Because it's such a tiny spot, dinner and breakfast can't coincide unless you have it down to a science. Turn down the music. It's way too loud. I couldn't hear the person two feet across from me, let alone the person asking my order. read more
