Great ambience, the bartenders are fast and friendly. The customers are nice -- many dress up! Great goth/spooky/vampire vibe.

Morrissey hadn't graced San Antonio in over 10 years, with past cancellations and postponements haunting fans along the way. So when he finally returned, San Antonio Moz fans showed up and showed out. Despite multiple after-party options across the city, fans from Brazil, the UK, Canada, Japan, and all across the U.S. chose Bang Bang Bar as the place to be on a cold Saturday night. Hosted by local emcee Ricardo Moz and Apollo DJ, the night turned into one for the history books. Bang Bang Bar is easily one of Texas' best dive-lounge bars...the perfect blend of gritty and cozy. Great cocktail program, solid beer selection, and a vibe that just works. The décor leans heavy into a 1950s-60s lounge aesthetic, with intimate spaces like the Blue Room and Yellow Room, perfect for groups of 7-10. Low lighting, warm atmosphere, and zero pretension exactly what you want for a night like this. Bang Bang Bar consistently supports local and touring acts, spanning punk, alternative, and DJ-driven nights, and this Moz Smiths Disco was no exception. It was wall-to-wall classics all night long. Major credit to Phanie and the Bang Bang Bar management they rolled up their sleeves, brought in extra bar staff, and handled an overwhelming crowd like pros. Fans waited up to 45 minutes in the cold, with a line wrapping around the building, and the energy inside never dipped. As the host of Panic On The Streets, I'm incredibly thankful to Bang Bang Bar for helping us pull off one of the best after-parties we've done in years. Fittingly, 2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of both Bang Bang Bar and Panic On The Streets of San Antonio and what a way to celebrate. Bang Bang Bar has long been one of my favorite bars in town, and after this night, that reputation is more than earned. Can't wait to do another Moz Smiths Disco here. -- Panic On The Streets of San Antonio

They were happy to answer my questions and I was never made to feel rushed. The bar itself has an awesome vibe. It's divey but offer fancy drinks. I also enjoy how each couch area is its own living room setup (think of what you see when shopping for couches/coffee tables) and feel/vibe. I make it a point to come and visit this bar any time I'm in San Antonio. We love supporting Phanie and her bands in any way possible. Girl in a Coma and FEA 4ever!

We got the roasted chicken and it was the perfect balance of toasty on the outside and moist on the inside. It came with rice and a selection of sauces (ginger cilantro and sriracha ). This was so delicious. We also got the fries and they were tasty, crispy and unique. Not your typical fry. Looked like a mini sculpture, almost too pretty to eat. There is ample seating and they have a cool little bookshelf with books and board games. Love the concept! They also have a wine dispenser. Didn't try it this time, but up for the challenge next time. Also don't skip the pickles, they are magical in every way. Homemade with lots of love and flavor! Then they brought a sample of the donuts and I think I'm hooked! They were fresh, delicious and still warm. I ended up ordering a large order to go! Highly recommend!

We started off with a mojito, then tried the frozen coffee, and had a great time dining and talking about life. We tried the spicy pizza and my gosh it was spicier than the depths of the furthest corners of the layers between the earth's mantle and hell. We had to send it back. The Caesar salad was great but not tossed enough in the dressing for liking. The gnocchi was addicting. Our server was attentive but there were so many flies in the area that it was almost hard to enjoy our dinner. The ambiance is lively with mostly couples and friends meeting for dinner.

You have a choice of sitting inside at either a table or couch setting. You can also sit outside on their patio which looked really cool. Thankfully the people who I sat next to were super friendly and helpful in explaining everything to me. I love the decor! The lighting and couch/benches gives it just a kiss of Mediterranean feel. For food, I tried the gyro plate and it was really good. For drink I had a hibiscus raspberry hot tea. For hookah I think it was a combo of flavors. It was nice and I was really intrigued with the process and the coals. This place is open late nights so it's a good hangout place and it's quiet enough for studying or homework. First of all, they no longer offer chips and salsa! Margaritas and chips and salsa are the binge food of most San Antonians, but not at Bays anymore! Also, goodbye to Scotch eggs. The nachos, which used to be a glorious gathering of refried beans and cheese, are now tiny chips with strange black beans scattered over them and lightly topped with some unidentified cheese. Barely edible. Thank God they didn't mess with the chili, although when I asked for chips with my chili, I was told there were none. The nachos were made with chips, but I couldn't get any for my chili. I then asked for crackers, expecting at least some saltines. Nope, I got wheat thins. And the frozen margaritas are now snowcones. If there is tequila in them, I couldn't taste it. Our server kept claiming he was "new" so he couldn't answer our questions about the menu changes. But he was quick to point out that he worked for tips when he brought us the check. All in all, this was a VERY disappointing experience. Whoever is running Bays now has badly missed the mark on practically everything that made Bombay Bicycle Club what it once was. And that is so very sad.

The food was delicious and hot, seasoned well. I had the friend chicken that came with green beans and mashed potatoes Perfect from top to bottom. Chicken was crispy and not dry, green beans were aldente. The only negative thing was that we watched one of hosts clean a table across from us (long hair with glasses) she scooped all of the food and crumbs from the table and brushed it all food into the floor. A little training is needed for her. If you haven't been here in a while, I recommend trying them again. I'm glad that I did.

Maybe today was just an off day for the server Michael and who ever was in the kitchen. First things first, Michael the server. Dude you need an attitude adjustment big time. When you took my order for my food and drink which was for a glass of water and it took a long time to get said glass of water which you just dropped in front of me and it spilled on my hand and you walked away and I had to call you back for a straw of which you threw at me over another guest. Let me tell you buddy, if I was your manager today would have been your last. You were rude and disrespectful. Now onto the review of the food. Which is normally pretty good. Today I had a half sandwich and soup. The soup was cold and the sandwich had a ridiculous small amout of chicken salad on it for the cost. Now, I've run a kitchen or two in my day and this I am sure absolutely did not match what ever portion board the kitchen uses. My plate was taken away and returned by my server Michael again just plopped infront of me as he walks away not waiting to see if this was to my liking. So, today this establishment gets a thumbs down and a NY raspberry.
