Thankfully, he was staying at Puppy Haven. The staff noticed right away that something wasn't right. They called me immediately, stayed calm, explained what they were seeing, and reassured me that they were taking action. They quickly transported him to a local urgent care vet they knew and trusted (who was also amazing). What really blew me away was what happened next. An employee stayed with him at the vet to hear the diagnosis, learned that he needed to be transferred to an emergency hospital for surgery, and then personally took him there as well. Since then, they've checked in multiple times to see how he's doing. It was honestly a pretty awful situation, but Puppy Haven made it so much better. Their attentiveness, compassion, and willingness to go above and beyond for one of their dogs is something I'll never forget. We are incredibly grateful and thankful to have a place where we can leave our pups and truly not have to worry. If you're looking for a daycare or boarding facility that genuinely cares about your dogs, Puppy Haven is it.

We send our dog to daycare to play, today they called to let me know, yet again, that they were putting him in "an apartment" to have some down time. When I inquired why, they said he was knocking over water buckets, he is a lab, and he just wanted to keep playing. Since I was trying again after they called the last time, I only signed him up for a few hours and either my husband or I was watching him on the camera the whole time he was inside, you con't see when they are outside. The lady at the front desk did say that he was creating extra work for the staff, I guess that was the water part. Our dog also goes to another daycare and there are no problems there. I assume because he has more room to run and they have more play yards. He won't be going back here again.

We can now take Moose off leash comfortably knowing she will come when called, sit and stay even in busy environments. I feel like we are happier humans and she is a happier dog thanks to Sam's help. The training style used was also based on rewarding Moose with play rather than food or negative reinforcement, which I really appreciate and didn't know much about before. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. Highly recommend Dog Wizard and Sam!

Probably my highest review ever for a service I haven't used yet. hear me out…read more I just rescued a Rat Terrier puppy called Raffi from Texas, who showed signs of abuse and trauma upon arrival. I've parented/known many rescues in the past and never seen anything like the fear she exhibited. fully freaked out, I shot a message to Atlanta Dog Wizard with an SOS to help. Kat quickly got in touch and we had about a 30-min call, which provided me with INVALUABLE insight into my urgent situation. That information she gave me--keep in mind, I had paid no money for her advice or training to this point--gave me some practices I could use, right away, to make Raffi feel more comfortable. I still might officially use Atlanta Dog Wizard in the future, if Kat is any indication how the company does things. She has a passion for rescues and turning around challenging situations and making dogs (and humans) shine. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We took our puppy to Atlanta Dog Trainer for the group obedience beginner training classes…read more There were 5 weeks of training classes (4 with the dog, the first with just the handlers). The primary instruction was getting your dog's attention, the commands - sit, down, off, leave it, drop it and loose leash walking. Overall I was pleased with the overall instruction and experience. They did a good job of making sure the dogs didn't invade another dog's space. Homework was sent out each week to work on in sessions with the dog and this helped prepare for the next week's session. Would recommend.

We signed up for the two week board and train as a last effort with minimal expectation. All I can say is WOW!!! Tracy has been exceptional from start to finish and the follow up after he was home was icing on the cake! She followed up daily to give us a report with photos and videos and continued to check in for weeks! We have the sweetest dog and our family could not be happier with our decision to put our pup into doggie school here!! The grounds are sprawling and beautiful, the staff is friendly, and the value far exceeded my expectations. We paid $995 per week, so about 2K total. I looked at some other programs which were about 2,800 with kinda crappy looking properties and very pushy sales people. We are forever grateful to ADT and Tracy! Thank you for our "new" dog!

This may come as a surprise to those that find out we frequent here, but we have no pets! What we…read moredo have is a gaggle of little kids and a need for indoor activities! The parking lot is always busy in this shopping center which I know well because of Trader Joe's. You can find parking, but it's very busy and not my preference with a ton of little kids. Petsmart does have a dedicated spot or 2 for online pick up! If you haven't guessed yet - we come for the animals! We typically start with the fish! There is a large wall of them. They aren't all full and sometimes we catch floating fish, but mostly my littles don't notice. They have live crickets, but I'm the only one that notices those. Towards the center are the reptiles, birds, and rodents (at least that's what I call hamsters, gerbils, and guinea pigs). Finally there are cats for adoption on the other end of the store. They have a dog training area which I have yet to catch dogs being trained, but it's over by the fish! We can kill an easy 20 minutes here and it isn't far from our house. Sometimes they have more for sale than other times and they aren't always the best kept enclosures, but it does in a pinch and it's a lot closer than the zoo and aquarium! Sometimes we run into other parents doing the same thing so I know we didn't invent the idea. But it's a great way to entertain little humans in a pinch!

I completed the Basic Course, Professional Course and Advanced Course. Without the world-class training that Joan and Sean provided me, I would not be where I am at today. Both on-line studying/examinations along with book reports and more importantly the hands on training in the class room undoubtedly played a key role in my successful dog training business today. Not only was the personal educational aspect of training beneficial but also the hands on training with my personal canine companion (requirement of course to have your own canine and pass certification(s)). Sophie (my Border Collie) has played an essential role as my demo dog for all of my group and private lessons. She has continued on to become a registered therapy dog. As for the training I received from Jo Thor's, I've gone on to become a therapy dog tester/observer, Canine Good Citizen tester for AKC. If you are looking for a state accredited vocational academy with a nationally known director, senior instructor and founder along with the best instructor (Sean - whom is also a graduate and owns his own dog training business) around? We loved the in home training. We wanted to be hands on every week with our boy Brock. The tools they gave us have helped tremendously. They also saw we needed some extra help because our boy is high energy and had some behavior issues so they gave that to us. Not only did we work in our home but also took trips to parks and Lowe's to work on behavior. We recently joined in our first pack walk, which is included upon graduation. We were so proud of our "Brock". Several months ago we wouldn't have been able to do this. We still train everyday to keep up his lessons. A very special thank you to Morgan who was our one on one trainer every week. She was so knowledgeable and fantastic, as were Alyssa, Olivia and Kaylee who have also helped.
