I got the pork plate with fried green tomatoes and collard greens. I was trying to get an Alabama meal since I was driving through the state . I'm very familiar with SC / Texas BBQ and Georgia soul food. I've never had Alabama 's version before. It was good, but the flavors lean heavy on a sweet / vinegar profile. Chow chow and pickles were served as a condiment. The chow chow was excellent with the pork. The BBQ sauce was different for me. Not bad, but I should have gotten it on the side. . The fried green tomatoes came with some Alabama white sauce and they were very good. They were the star of my plate for sure. The smoked wings were good with the Alabama White Sauce. I should have gotten them sauced and used the Bama sauce as a dip. In the future I'll order only one thing with that vinegar / sweet profile. The Fried green tomatoes! We had a horrible experience last night at the new Full Moon in Montgomery. My friends salad came in big clumps with big clumps of shredded cheese on a plate! My barbeque sandwich, which had little smoked flavor, was on a piece of paper on the tray. I hope the tray had been washed. My other friend ordered grilled chicken and sweet potato casserole. It came without any bread. So we adked the waitress to please bring him some. She said it cost extra so we dug out an exyra dollar. It finally came when he was almost finished. We asked for the manager to come talk to us. He was not the least apologetic about the salad altho he was concerned about the clumpped cheese. I cannot recommend this bbq jpint to anyone! There is too many good bbq places around for this place to last. Shameful since the Full Moon in Bham is famous. read more

This was a very nice surprise we were looking for soul food and the New Moon was recommended by a couple that really enjoyed the food. The first thing we noticed was how clean the place was. The staff was really nice but most importantly the food was really good, just what we were hoping for. We had the catfish and three vegs, the food is cooked fresh there are many items on the menu that we are excited to come back and try. If I could give negative stars I would!! The food was horrible. The brisket was tough as could be and the ribs were fatty and way too salty!! We wasted 60.00 on dinner tonight all because the place we really wanted was closed for some reason!! I do NOT recommend going here at all because you will waste money unless you like nasty bbq. Ha the "famous" cookies taste just like the ones I bake at home . To be fair I visited on a Friday afternoon for lunch when the restaurant was still pretty new. It was super crowded. I tried the two-meat combo with ribs and sliced pork, butter beans and collard greens. I also order a six-pack of the "famous half-moon cookies" and sweet tea. The barbecue sauce is average at best. It's a little strange that bottles are ordered near the napkins to tale to the tables, instead of just placing bottles of sauce on the tables to help with congestion. The drinks are served at the counter, I guess to limit refills? The chow chow is fabulous. They don't give you nearly enough! The meats were average, a lil on the dry side even with sauce. I ordered extra pickles and didn't get them. And, though my order was to eat I , I requested a box to go upfront when I ordered because I rarely finish all of my food and didn't want to stand in that crazy long line again. When my food arrived: no box. The staff floating around was friendly but forgetful. It took two reminders to get a to box and bag, when I was ready to leave. Don't bother with the waxy bland milk and white chocolate coated chocolate chip cookies: gross! Maybe mine were stale? I threw them out once home after one bite of one cookie. On the positive side, the collard greens and butter beans were awesome!! I'd go back for a veggie plate and more chow chow for my home sammie creations. read more

I am very disappointed with this restaurant location my wife and I started going to Full Moon in Birmingham the food was excellent but the one in Montgomery is a cheap knock off the wings are two times smaller they were not the smoked wings we ordered also the riblett platter meat was very tuff the stake fries were cold they have a long way to go. May need to wait till they know what they are doing. And don't order the wings they are a rip off. Maybe they will get better but not if they keep selling the cheap wings. read more

I am from Phenix City, AL and I heard about this place from a friend of mine who saw it in Birmingham. So I told my friend about it and we drove 80 miles to eat there. What a disappointment! Average food for 5 star dining prices. My buddy ordered the small sandwich and fries. Not much bigger than a Krystal. Same sandwich in Phenix City is $1.49. Almost $6.00. Fries were two dollars and he got about 7 fries! The tea was $2.00 and you get a cup that is the same size as a coffee cup at Krystal. These guys must think there food is gourmet but mediocre at best. I guess I am spoiled here in Phenix City with our BBQ places. No comparison! read more

Love the Full Moon in Alabaster. With that being said, the one in East Chase in Montgomery sux! It started when the cashier could not even read my order back correctly. I had to correct her twice! Asked for no chow chow (I hate that stuff), but there it was under my chicken. I had to go ask for a clean plate and wipe the chow chow off the chicken and scoop the backed bean onto the clean plate. My Goddaughter wanted a cheeseburger with bacon, nothing else. The cashier rang up the All-American Burger add cheese and bacon (said that was the only way to ring that one up) BUT the cashier failed to put on the ticket nothing BUT cheese and bacon. When she bit into the burger with tons of mustard on it, it looked like she would puke. I had to return again to the front and tell them it was suppose to be be bacon and cheese ONLY. So her fries were cold before they got another one cooked. There was four of us and two orders wrong plus the cashier couldn't even read the ticket back correctly. If I could give 0 stars I would. Spent a little of $57 for crap. Didn't even get offered a discount or refund. WILL NOT BE BACK!!!! read more

Decided to give this place a try on a Saturday afternoon. Let me start off by saying this place is part 'fast food' part dine in and they do have an outside eating area. For dine-in, you order when you enter then they will bring food to you which is more of a fast food type establishment as opposed to more restaurant. The place is clean. It has a 'sporty' atmosphere with TV's on the wall and sports related decor, and music playing. Plenty of dining space, restroom was clean. Personnel at the counter were decent. They were polite and courteous but I would not rate them as going out of their way to warrant me rating them as 'exceptional' for this review. The gentleman who brought my food was courteous as well. I ordered the chicken & rib plate so that I could try two meats for this review. My sides were the fried green tomatoes and the coleslaw. I have to say that the food was good. Neither the ribs or the chicken were dry and it was brought out and served at the proper temperate. The meat had good smoke flavor and the BBQ sauce did have good taste. It's a mild tomato base sauce. They also have a white sauce which was flavorful with some spice to it. The coleslaw is vinegar based which I prefer. Probably my favorite though was the fried green tomatoes. I was not disappointed here. They were not soggy. They were perfectly cooked, thick slices, lightly breaded and firm! I hate fried green tomatoes that are thin and soggy or heavily coated. My entree was served with white bread. While customer service will fluctuate shift to shift and day to day as in any place, on this day, everything came together to deserve this five star rating from me. I did not discredit them due to the number of sauces because the sauces they offer are good. This place does serve beer and wine. The outside area IS pet-friendly so feel free to give this place a try if you are looking for a place to dine with your well mannered furry friend. I will be back. read more

I just spent $19 on the beef brisket plate with two sides and a small drink. The meat was tough and dry. I expect a $19 brisket to be tender and excellent. Jim and Nicks' brisket is way better. The sauce was great and so was the Mac n cheese. The collard greens were awesome! My friends got fried chicken that was also bland and dry. The food is ok. This is anew location that got a lot of hype. So after the "newness" crowds died down, we decided to check it out. Having had sone awesome Bbq from Ga to Va to Fl to Upstate NY to Tenn to Ms, as well as AL, I knew what I was looking for. We got the pulled pork stuffed potato and an order of riblets. The pulled pork was average, not much smokiness and had a somewhat 'mushy' texture from being overworked and potentially re-worked from sitting too long. However the potato itself was thoroughly cooked nicely with a salted skin. The riblets however were tough and fatty with several of the cutoff pieces being nothing but purely bone. It was well camouflaged with a thick layer of their HFCS sauce. I truly prefer restaurants to allow me to apply my own sauce. It was a challenge to find sections of edible meat on these riblets, and what was there was tough and undercooked. These are not slow smoked ribs. The meats seem to have been boiled then thrown on their grill just long enough to minimally char the outside slightly. I was very glad not to have ordered the full rib plate; as I watched a lady next to me with a rib plate wrestle each bite of meat from her chew bone plate of ribs. This is a walk-up restaurant and it laid put like a Zaxby's with TVs added. They do serve beer but it's a stretch to call this a sports bar. I have honestly had much better riblets at Applebee's, and theirs is no different than the packages in the grocery freezer. I seriously doubt that I will return with so many much better choices in the area. Maybe I'd give their smoked turkey a chance.... but I very skeptical about it being smoked minutes versus hours. BTW, definitely not Milo's, but I must say that their iced tea is okay but not even as good as Zaxby's. Overall very disappointed. I would have given them one star, but they did have lots of TVs with games on that helped distract from the food. read more

This was my first visit to Montgomery and to Full Moon, and because of the food and customer service here.... I'll be bringing the entire family back! The selection and prices made it really hard to choose, so Chris (the manager) allowed us to sample a few items while we waited on our lunch! He was amazing!!!! The smoked turkey breast, pork salad, onions rings, chili, stew, riblets, and the chocolate dipped cookies were our favorites! We need one of these in Tallahassee, FL! read more

the parking lot is small and i could not find a spot to park. Instead of being waited on at a table, you order your food at the front counter. There is only one register/order taker. The line was long and slow moving. After placing your order you are given a number and you find a table and wait for a server to bring you your food. I did not like this process. i really wanted a salad and an appetizer before i ate my dinner, did not order any salad or appetizer because it would all arrive at the same time. The food is very good. I ordered the full moon plate bar-b-que plate. The description of the full moon plate says it comes with toast. when my food arrived, no toast. when i asked about the toast, the employee said "you ordered greens, so you get a corn muffin instead". i told her the menu board does not say toast not included if you order greens. On 11-6-17 we took my wife to Full Moon BBQ for her birthday because of the rating of top 10 in the US. She ordered 1 2 meat combo dbl, ribs, chicken, corn on the cob, baked beans and tea. I ordered the baby back rib plate, slaw, baked beans and tea. My wife said the chicken was good she didn't like the ribs. My baby back ribs were tough you had to rip them off the bone (not good), the beans tasted like they came from a can. The slaw was the best part of the meal. I said nothing to management because it was her birthday, I didn't want to make a scene. I'm use to moist tender baby back ribs not tough as nails ribs. As for the baked bean there was no barbecue meat in it, no smoke taste at all. I think they poured them from a can. I would not recommend this place at all. 36.59 spent on not good food. read more

So then I reconfirm with cashier, and she says that they still have ribs only out of baby backs I placed 2 orders for spare rib plates and paid recieved my drinks and numbers and took a seat after waiting nearly an hour some women who isn't even a MANAGER (which I confirmed after returning to give this establishment a FOURTH CHANCE) comes over engages in conversation with my fiance, son & I and tells my son she remembers when I was pregnant with him (Mind you I've never seen this woman in my life) she states finally states after 10 ADDITONAL WASTED MINUTES"I'm sorry we're out of ribs, would you like anything else" we declined asked for a refund she asked to take my info down and when we returned the meal would be on the "house". On today, I returned in hopes of a better experience, but I was greeted by an asshole of a GM who is clueless about all of this . Said this to say the CUSTOMER SERVICE and HOSPITALITY ETHICS ARE HORRIBLE . I've never seen so many people breathe and hover over food before it reaches the customer .
