Happened to be in the area, so took my doggy here. My first impression of this park (on the small dog side) is that it can get rather muddy. Lots of dirt, not much grass, bad combo for my white dog. He's a runner, so he gets a lot of that dirt on himself. I met a few dog owners and they were friendly and watchful of their dogs, so no problems there. There's actually a nice amount of shade around the benches too. Doggy fountains and waste bag dispensers are available, so that's a plus for me. There are also toys for your dog to play with. Overall, seems like a good dog park if you're not worried about your dog getting too muddy on the paws. read more

BEWARE. I've been here a few times and haven't had issues. This last time, I was in the small dog side of the park. I was tending to my older dog, when I looked up and noticed that I couldn't find my puppy. It's a relatively small park and no one else was in there, so I couldn't understand where he possibly could've gone. I called for him and nothing. Then, to my horror, I see him running around by the train tracks OUTSIDE of the park. My heart sank. I left my senior in the park and ran out to to tracks, but they're fenced in and I couldn't get to him. He's small enough that he squeezed through the rails meant to keep people off the tracks. A train came less than a minute later, blared it's horn, and my puppy took off running for his life. It took a long time, but his energy and fear finally wore off and I was able to catch him. I went back in the park to get my senior who was also shaken up from being alone in there. Upon inspection, there is an opening in the fence in one of the corners that my 9 pound puppy was able to squeeze through to get out. We will never come back here. This ordeal was absolutely traumatizing. Honestly I'm appalled that this happened. It has to be a known issue because someone placed a small planter pot in front of the fence opening to try and block it. My puppy was put into life threatening danger yesterday at this park because of negligence by whoever runs and maintains this park. read more

We came out for a beagle meetup here Saturday morning. Pretty nice pooch park. We were on the side that has wood chips. Charlie kept wanting to go over to the other side where the grass is greener, ok well where there was grass. I don't blame him because it's tough to run on wood chips, but I wouldn't let him go. He sometimes can't handle meeting the big boys, so he was forced to hang out with all his beagle cousins. Ramsay had fun meeting everyone and mooching treats from some of the other humans. I like that they had water available for the pooches. Kind of far for us to come on a regular basis, but for a beagle reunion now and then, we will travel! read more

Brought Almond over here today...and I must say...I prefer the park in Orange! This one is not nearly as shady (small dog side) and there was a lot of mud. Almond was a filthy mess when we were done, and so was I. Dogs (mine included) had jumped on me and BF and we both had mud on our legs and feet and clothes. I know it's a park, and dogs will be dogs and get dirty, but Almond has never come home with mud all over her fur when we go to Orange. Plus, Orange is way closer to my house. So...I think I will probably not be back here. read more

My puppy was on his back belly up while 2 aggressive dogs were still trying to bite him. Owners nowhere to be found. I had to pull their dogs off. Owners (appears to be regulars) here dont seem to keep track of their dogs. Those 2 same dogs seem to get aggressive with every dog that came through the gate. I took my Pomsky here today for the first time and had a great experience. I love how they have a separate enclosed section for smaller dogs, giving my puppy free reign to explore without me worrying! There are bowls with a place to fill up with water and also many scattered toys and balls around to let the dogs play with. They also usually provide poop bags but were all out today. This park sucks, I'd rather drive 40 minutes to go to another one. There's a bunch of old people who sit and watch people come in/out, and yell at them instead of watching their untrained and aggressive dogs. Got yelled at and called stupid the last time I was there. All while one of their dogs was biting my dog. These people have nothing better to do then complain about everyone else. If you have a problem with everyone, maybe it's you and not them. Don't come here. read more

We found this place by googling and yelping for dog parks that were open after dusk. We figured there HAD to be one, especially for people who work until 5 or in our case, watching football all day. We ventured the 20 miles, and were relieved to see a couple of dogs at the park (it was 6 pm). The dogs were quite a bit larger than my 5 month old lab, but they played well with her. After about 10 minutes, a few more dogs came and they all played well and tolerated the little rambunctious chocolate. There was a pitt mix there that was 10 months, and the owners were cognizant of the fact that she may inadvertently hurt our pooch so they were helpful in keeping an eye out to make sure everyone was playing well. The owners were all very friendly, talkative, and responsible. I hope to be coming back here, but we shall see since it's a bit of a trek from where we're moving (it'll be 30 miles away). read more

Location: right next to the train tracks - ish. It can get pretty loud when there's a train coming by, but the dogs don't seem to be bothered by it. There's a separation between large dogs and small dogs (above or below 25lbs). My dog is exactly 25 pounds so we kinda choose where we want to bring him hehe Accomodations: --Poop bags: accessible to the public, which is a major plus for me!! People almost always pick up their dog's poop when there's free poop bags. One thing that i'd change is to put a lid on the trash can because first off, the trash can is in the shade, where everyone is standing, and without a lid and a lot of wind, the smell from the trashcan just blows in our direction. --Water bowls: HUGE! they sit right next to a faucet where you can pour water for the dogs, or if you want, you can bring your own bowls and just pour the water for your dogs. --Toys: good amount of fetch toys for the dogs to play with ranging from balls, ropes, and squeaky toys too. --Benches: plenty of benches throughout the park and especially in the shade. Definitely a plus instead of just standing around for however long you're going to be at the park. Downside: there's a lot of dirt and not much grass in the small dog park. Some people like this, but I'd like a little more grass, if possible. TIP: some owners don't watch their dogs so the dogs can get kinda frisky with each other or sometimes even angry with each other and it should be the owner's responsibility to keep an eye on them. The park also gets pretty busy, so if your dog isn't friendly, it's best to go at odd hours. read more

This is right across from the library, which is convenient if you like to get some reading done! But ugh, I just wasn't much of a fan. Yes there are poop bags and some benches, but there are also withered up rope (someone needs to just toss those out) and torn tennis balls. That's fine, but there was too much dirt and bark/mulch that my pup kept chewing on. At least the small dogs section had grass, the large dogs section just had a bunch of wood everywhere. This park is a joke! It's full of obnoxious trailer park people who have nothing better to do than to hang out there and terrorize new comers. My last comment got deleted so I'm writing again because I want everyone to know what kind of experience I had here. I came to this park with my fiance and our 3 dogs. I was carrying 2 of our little dogs, (YES I WAS CARRYING THEM BECAUSE WE DID NOT KNOW WHERE THE LITTLE DOG AREA WAS) and our beagle was walking with us through the big dog area. Immediately 2 huskies ran up to our beagle and began to sniff her out. thats fine and we were letting the dogs do their thing until one of the huskies started NIPPING at her. playing or not, I knew my dog was terrified because she started whimpering while she was on her back. Please guys, dont give me crap about defending my dog. As a dog owner, I am looking out for her safety because as much as i love dogs, I dont fully know their instinct. I told my fiance to pick our dog up because she was terrified. As soon as we picked her up, we heard yelling from across the park from these 4 people sitting at the bench. They were yelling at us to put her down. Im not going to put my dog down when there is a dog nipping at her. As we panicked to pick up our dogs and navigate our way out, a girl (owner of the husky) dares to come up to us and tell us that her dog usually gets along with other beagles because other beagles "know how to play." Then she adds to say "you know you're in the big dog area right?!" I mean instead of showing us where the small dog area was, she came over to make an obnoxious comment to let me know that our dog had a problem and we were in the wrong for being in the big dog side when her dog was the one nipping at our dog?! ridiculous. We were on our way out of the park because I knew this was not a place for us or our dogs to relax. On our way out.. the four people sitting at the bench yelled "YEA TAKE YOUR SMALL DOGS AND GET THE F OUT OF HERE." No exaggeration here. word for word.. thats what they yelled at us. I was livid and I yelled back. the four of them could not even get off their seats and walk up to us and instead yelled from across the park and insisted we stay out of the big area. They added "Stay the F out of our park and go back to your city!!" Yep.. This was my first and only experience there and I will tell you,, if you care about the safety of your dogs and the safety of YOURSELF for gods sake stay the hell away from this park. This park is full of people that think they own the park and are clearly not welcoming of new people and their dogs. Not only did my last review get deleted, I got a message from a regular there telling me that she goes there regularly but has never seen the people there acting that way so therefore my post was BS... Please guys, dont go to this disgusting park full of obnoxious nasty people who threaten your well being there. Very sad when people are either unable or unwilling to read and fallow a simple set of rules that protect all involved. Most of the complaints you see on this thread are from new comers that refuse to adhere to the rules as if they don't apply to them or their dogs. My dog and I come to the Pooch Park everyday sometimes twice a day the volunteers and regulars do a great job at making the experience a positive one for as many as possible. What most people don't understand is all the bags and supplies are provided by donation and volunteers holding fund raising I for one truly appreciate all that is done to provide a safe place to exercise and socialize my dog read more

I've been coming here since I moved to fullerton in August, and every experience has been negative. That's saying a lot because I come weekly. Unfortunately, OC is very lacking in large popular dog parks, and this is the closest one to me (4 miles away) other than that I have to go to my old dog park in Long Beach (20 miles away) the next one closest to me is Yorba Linda about 8 miles away. Pros: grass, benches, obstacles, adequate doggy bags, (a recently added poop scoop), separated large dog and small dog areas. Cons: TOO many people don't pick up after their dogs. I get that there's overgrown grass, but seriously watch your dogs and pick up after them. There are not enough lights when it gets dark and in the winter it gets pitch black out by 5 pm. The people are not friendly whatsoever, everyone just sticks to themselves, they don't watch their dogs and they don't like anyone else near their dogs and they don't like when other dogs come up to them! It's a dog park, dogs are gonna want to say hi to you! Also twice now there have been kids who come in and leave the gates open and my dog as well as someone else's almost escaped. That's just unacceptable, it's a dog park there are gates for a reason don't be careless. Other than that their have been many aggressive and un neutered pets at this park. read more

I haven't explored too many dog parks, but I liked this one! There's a designated small dog and big dog play area. Sometimes I like my little maltiepoo to play with the big dogs so he can't punk on them and they put him in his place! lol but when I got here, there were a lot of pitbulls and excessive scary/loud barking from the large dog pen so, maybe this was a good thing for little Ziggy. All the dogs and people were very friendly except one older man who was smoking a cigar. After a while of watching the pooches play, we discovered his dog was the bully of the playground. Not surprised! I will definitely be coming back! I hope he finds a good friend next time :) read more

Besides the Group or groups of people that don't talk to anyone through out the day, which can get annoying, only because you go in thinking everyone is going to be just as friendly as you are but they aren't. The Park It self is an okay area to bring your dog or dogs to run around for a little while. I used to come often, around 3 times a week because my dog nor I care about him getting dirty after all it is a dog park. And he loves to run around, play with other large dogs, and roll on the grass/dirt. I guess the only reason I can't give this park more than three stars is because I would have liked it to be double the size and more taken care of. I hope this review helps you! read more

I'm soooo happy to have found this park! I've been looking for somewhere to take my pup. Since we have moved she hasn't had a yard to run around in. She is temperamental with some dogs so I didn't want to take her to the dog park. This park has three sections! One for large dogs, one for small dogs, and a wood chip area(I really wish it was just dirt! But she was okay). It seemed to be pretty clean and they did have rolls of bags. I would bring your own just in case though. I love that I can take her to the wood chip area to run on her own. I am going to try and go at odd hours so it's not super crowded. It's also nice to be able to see the parking lot so I know if someone else wants to use the chip area. My girl has become a little chunky so it doesn't take too much to tire her out :) which is why we don't stay very long. read more

The girlfriend and I bring our dogs here, mainly Nitro, our English Bull Terrier and Mochi the Min Pin. Nitro is so full of energy and this park really helps put him in his place! The variety of dogs and dog owners makes the visit entertaining for both owners and the dogs. Not only that but compared to "Yorba Dog Park" in Orange it is a lot cleaner and greener. The people that visit seem to be regulars here at Fullerton whereas at Yorba not many regulars there it seems. Perhaps because I only visit there on weekends if anything. The poster child for the term "Tragedy of the Commons." It used to be that this park was a nice, clean, open space with lots of grass. Now, because of neglect by the very people who use it, it's become a disaster area. Simply, nobody cares about a space they don't own. They take their dogs there to let them run around, but won't clean up after them. When asked to do the decent thing, people get defensive, hostile, or both. Due to plain old neglect, what was once a nice, clean, open space has become a toilet no one's bothered to flush for months. The morning people will complain about it, but won't take on the chores themselves, and the evening people won't bother picking up at all. "I clean up after *my* dog," they'll say, while ignoring the dozen or so other landmines lying around. The groups will blame each other, or the city, or anyone else besides themselves. Everyone's to blame, everyone has failed, and everyone's decided it's "not their problem" to fix. Because no one cares enough to take responsibility for the health of the park, everyone has collectively destroyed a once delightful public space. Nice job, everyone. You've done it again. read more

Not a fan of this park! The photos on this Yelp are very deceiving, they make it look huge, when in fact it's a pretty small park. Also, it's right next to a library where they allow homeless to camp out. When I entered the park, I was accosted by a group trying to get money to help the homeless. I'm all for charitable donations, but these people just made me feel uncomfortable. Also, a lot of the owners there think it's funny when their dogs are aggressive. For example...a group of dogs where playing and it started getting a bit loud and out of control. Instead of separating the dogs for a bit, the owner egged on his dog by shouting "Get him, get him!" At that moment, his dog started running towards me with about 4 others following him. I braced myself for impact and then BAM! I was knocked over by the over-excited dog! Instead of helping me up or apologizing, the guy just laughed and continued to encourage his rowdy dog. Ugh...I'm so not going back to this park! read more

My boxer was bit on the face only the second time I took her. She's generally very timid and was hiding under a park bench when another dog came up and bit her face. The other dogs owner and I thought it was merely a little spat with a growl or two, but upon looking at my dogs face a few minutes later, I saw an open wound under her eye. Since I am a new pet owner I was really concerned and told the other owner what happened and asked what I should do. He said it was fine, he would leave it alone and it will heal. He didn't even apologize. I ended up calling the vet, who strongly recommended I come in immediately. I had to pay for the vet bill and my dog is really distressed. Totally irresponsible pet owners at this park. I will never go there again except to find that other owner and lecture him. :( read more

Took my girl Luna out for her birthday today. First stop was Anaheim Feed to pick up a giant bone and some treats. Next stop was Baskin Robbins, gotta have a little ice cream (she loved it) on your birthday, next stop was the Fullerton pooch park. First time here for both of us. Although she was a little timid at first it wasn't long before she was in the full swing of things. This is a nice place. Dogs get to run free and socialize with others. Luna had a great time. Most of the owners I talked to were chill folks. And most of the dogs were just about having fun. Ass sniffing (doggy handshake) and running from dog to dog was the order of the afternoon. Only saw one aggressive dog and the owner set it straight quick. And another dog got wood for my girl but I chased him off. Nice park to take your dog to, Has water and turd bags if you need them. The small dog park seemed a little more hostile with lots of little ankle biters yapping at each other. Large mostly grass area fun for your mutt A+++Plus....Bootleggers is down the street! My dogs and I love it here, we frequent the small dog side at least twice a week. Pros: - there's usually a lot of friendly dogs - everyone is very friendly & knowledgeable - water bowls, poop bags, & toys are provided - there's a big tree in the middle which provides shade to 1/3 of the park (as well as a place for all the dogs to go pee on) - 4 benches for humans (& some dogs!) to sit on Cons: - hard to find at first. Parking can be hard around busy times too. - a little less than half is grass now, the rest is dirt. However, they will reseed it during the summer - the train that goes by right next to the park scared my dogs at first. Now, they're used to it :) My dogs are always pooped after we leave, which I'm extremely grateful for! It's a good place to share experiences and tips with other dog owners. read more

Don't tell Mommy I borrowed her account again!* Last weekend, Mommy and my aunties decided to take me, Cousin Snowball, Cousin Oreo, and my BF Rocky to do lots of fun things. One of our stops was this dog park, and boy oh boy, was it fun or what? And turns out, it's literally down the street from Rocky's house! The park is divided into a section for big doggies and another for little doggies. I know I'm a big doggie, but since I was just a puppy, Auntie Eileen took me into the little dog area with my cousins. She said it would be fine because I was just a baby. The other nice humans understood and they pet me really nicely! I love humans. Mommy likes this park because she said it's cleaner than a lot of other parks she went to. There was plenty of room for me to romp around with new buddies, and Auntie Eileen even said that they were going to open a new area soon! Yipee! More room to run around! Just got back from here with my husband and my pup Connor and we had SO much fun! I'm very glad this place is right by my house. We finally got Connor his last set of shots and with that it was off to the dog park after months of anticipation. Our first experience here was great. We had no trouble finding it- just drove down Basque until it dead-ended. According to some of the visitors, the park had been closed for grass re-seeding so everything is nice and green right now. I didn't notice too much mud. Despite some of the reviews on here, there was a dog fountain/faucet in the small dog area (not sure if that's new), potty bags, and some donated toys scattered around. I was surprised at how many benches there were, and pleased that there were plenty of dogs for Connor to play with. Every dog that came in seemed very friendly and well-socialized. One woman brought a larger sized dog into the small dog area and I could tell that it bothered one couple there, but the dog was a puppy and super friendly and gentle to all the dogs there. He was Connor's favorite dog. There was one man that came with a dog who tried to hump Connor more than once, which was about when we decided to leave while we were still on a high note. It was annoying that he didn't seem too concerned in stopping it-- but there are always going to be some irresponsible or socially awkward people that come out to places like this. Today we met a single toothed meth-head, who accused us of stealing her dog, at Fullerton Pooch Park. Driving up, my first impression of the place was not good. Located in a semi-industrial part of the city, it's surrounded by warehouses and flanked by the Hunt Public Library and train tracks. When we pulled into the park, looking for spot, we noticed a smiling woman standing in the sun. She had dirty blond hair (actual dirt), one tooth and a bad case of Samsonite Syndrome. "Samsonite Syndrome" is when a person has achieved a tan that is enviable, but that tan is negated when the skin has taken on a hard, leathery texture similar to that found on a leather suitcase. She was holding a neon green poster board that said "missing shih tzu". We have a 2 1/2 year old shih tzu named "Mocha", so I empathized with the woman - until she approached us and started speaking. She mumbled something about how she lost her dog, "Bella". Then she noticed that we had a shih tzu. She said, "Can I look at your dog?" I was carrying her so I just pointed her at the woman. Lady said, "Oh, no, that's not her." No kidding. I turned the cheek and we walked away. I thought that would be the last time we talked with one toothed meth-lady. Sadly, it was not. Our dog played in the little, mostly dirt filled cage they have for small dogs, called the "small dog area" for about 20 minutes. During this time, the lady kept calling "Bella", "Bella", while looking at us and our dog. I just ignored the lady, but wife was upset by this. Anyway, our dog is small but she has a big heart. So I talked wife into letting her play with the big dogs in the larger, grass filled "large dog area". We met some friendly people and our dog got to run with the big dogs for about 30 minutes when two women stopped outside the fence in front of wife, dog and I. They began calling for "Bella", while looking directly at our dog. Apparently, crazy meth lady told these two women that we had her dog. At this point, we decided to leave. While walking back to our car, meth-lady said, "Hey, can I look at the dog? I called the police. They're on the way. Can you stay until they come?" I said, "No. You cannot look at our dog. She's not yours." The police pulled up just as we were getting into our car. Meth lady flagged them down and was pointing in our direction. I started the car and drove over toward the lady and the two police officers. I told them she is on drugs and has been standing in the sun too long and we drove off. Small dog area rating is one star. This sad, dirt filled square is about the size of small basketball court. It's a prison yard for small dogs. Large dog area rating is four stars. It's about the length of a foot ball field and has a nice mixture of grass and wood chips. Final rating would be 2.5 stars but I have to deduct half a star because the single toothed meth head harassed us. Final rating is 2 stars. read more

I love taking my two doggies here because Hammy gets to people watch and Yoshi gets to do laps around the tree in the middle of the small dog park. We've been going to the park since it first opened and it's definitely better than some of the other dog parks in OC. You really have to know when to come to this park because it's fairly small and it fills up. The larger dog park is pretty big and the bigger breeds have room to run around. The only problem I have is with some ignorant owners. Granted, not everyone is a dog whisperer, but are you really going to sit there while your dog maniacally humps another, more submissive dog when the other dog's owner is frantically trying to pull yours off? Are you seriously bringing your 4 year old into the park and letting it pet and even attempt to pick up other people's dogs? Can I punch you in the face for complaining that there is poop everywhere when you didn't even bother to clean up after your mutt? ANYWAY, I still love this park and all the doggy friends we've made. read more

I love the open large dog area because you can see where your dog is at all times. Disappointed that there are holes everywhere on the ground from dogs digging. My dog broke his toe in one of those holes. The regulars gather in a circle and don't pay attention to what their dogs are doing or pick up their dog poop. It's disgusting to take dog poop home on your shoes because they don't bother to pick it up. It's not that hard even if you're older. Otherwise I really like this dog park. read more

Decent dog park, nothing on the level of a dog beach (I mean BEACH greater than PARK anyways!!) but there's plenty of shade and green for your best friend :) I took Toby here and he did great!!! Plenty of space to run and he made plenty of friends! The thing for me and dog parks are the patrons. When you have a 95 pound German Shepherd people are going to be weary, in the case of the Pooch Park, the other patrons were great! Everybody is friendly and social. Don't forget to bring your buddy's favorite toys too, but be prepared to teach your dog to share ahead of time! The most positive point must be the Fullerton air because there were no territorial confrontations at this pooch park... Toby sometimes gets into a scuffle w/ some of the bigger dogs when they don't like the way he sniffs them. However, the Pooch Park stays away from all that drama-just good clean fun w/ your best friend and his!! Recommended!! P.S. 4 out of 5 stars because there is more poo there than I have been used to... come on people enforce yourselves and clean after yourselves!!! read more

I LOVE THIS PARK! I came here a couple times with my dogs and they absolutely loved it! I wish it was a little closer so I could take my dogs there more often. They close on Wednesdays to clean the park and keep it clean. I love that they do that! I also love that the big dog area is pretty big and has a lot of grass! My backyard doesn't have any grass so my doggies really enjoy playing on the grass when we come to this park. I like having grass and dirt over wood chips. The Diamond Bar dog park in my area has wood chips and I absolutely hate it. My dogs always come back with a bunch of wood chips stuck in their fur, especially my jindo with long fur. I end up spending an hour or so brushing the wood chips out. The people I've met at this park are always so friendly! Some of the other parks I've been to had people who would get upset if my dogs got a little rough with their dog. Nothing crazy, just a lot of jumping around and the owners get terrified. I mean, it's a dog park people and that's how dogs play with each other! The people here seem to be more understanding of that and laid back which is always nice. read more

My favorite dog park. Well, its only my favorite dog park because its not too far from where I live, so I guess this could be a biased statement. However its a pretty decent sized dog park with three different gated areas. One gated area is for small dogs under 20 lbs, theres another gated area with just bark that no one really goes to but people with wild like dogs that seem to bark all day. The main area is for big dogs and little dogs if your not afraid of your pet being around the bigger guys. the main area has 2 entrances one by the library and one off the main parking lot on Basque. There's plenty of grass and plenty of benches. The park is well maintained and has poop bags for your convinience. Just don't come here on a Wednesday because that's the only day when the park is closed. Advice: 1)Don't wear sandals unless you want dirty feet. 2) The park is very hard to find for some people. There's two entrances a) just keep going down Basque coming from Valencia. It may look kind of weird and a dead end but just keep on driving and the dead end is the dog park. b) you can als park at the parking lot at Pacific. Once you park just walk over the little bridge and the dog park will be on your right. read more

I wasn't a big fan of this dog park. The dirt gets all over your dog. It's a really small area and the worst part is... It's right next to some train tracks and it's soooooo loud when they pass by. read more

This place is so fun! I take my dog here about 3 times a week to let her run some energy out. Both the woodchip park and the large dog park are kept very clean and well-stocked with toys, baggies, and nice people! There are a few reviews on here about overly aggressive dogs, but from what I've seen, they're always asked to leave or are placed in the woodchip park. In the year I've been going here I've only seen one dog attack and it was broken up quickly by both the owners and one of the park attendants with little fuss or muss. All in all, awesome park with awesome vibes! read more
