This place is all about meeting your needs with the food you want. My husband and I got a few small dishes to share from multiple restaurants. We wandered around quite a bit before we landed on what we got and really wanted to try some different things - we got the samosas, the wrapped shrimp and the octopus. I forget which places we got the food from, but it was all delicious. The octopus was a little overcooked, but still had great flavor and spice to it. When we walked in, we were shocked at how spacious the restaurant was and appreciated the ambience. However, there was only one party there when we got there. To start, our server Nate, was friendly and attentive. We started with the cocktails which honestly probably the best part. The paper plane was perfectly balanced. The margs were ok. The little wedge salad tasted off so we sent it back and got it refunded as the staff tried it as well and agreed something was off. So it was nice that we weren't made to feel bad. I went here for a DJ/ Dance event organized by the promoters of Chicago Progressive House (C P H) (you can find them on Facebook and Instagram) as they are known to bring quality international and local talent. I know a couple of guys from the C P H group, and I like to support them whenever possible. C P H organized an event called Anjunabeats Worldwide 11 Tour featuring international DJ/ Producer act, Alex Sonata and TheRio and local talent, Adrian Armendariz and Lucy in the Sky. It was their first time organizing an event at Fulton Market Kitchen and my first time checking F M K as well. I didn't know until this event was announced that F M K doubles as an after-hours club. The entrance to the event room was through the back door entrance of the restaurant. The club room was nicely set up with a good sound system and lighting. The DJ booth was set up nicely, and the dance floor area, although packed, was not hard to navigate. A big bar was right adjacent to the dance floor. I liked the decor and ambiance of F M K. I did not have any drinks, so I can't speak for their costs and quality. The music was good, and the vibe was fun. I will be going back to F M K for other similar events, and perhaps I'll check out their restaurant as well someday. read more

My love and I have been to Fulton Market Kitchen for drinks previously, but we finally enjoyed their food during a Happy Hour visit recently. The establishment seems like a hip art gallery with colorfully decorated interiors. The Happy Hour runs from 4 to 6PM on weekdays, and when we came minutes after 4PM on a Thursday the place was empty. The current specials range from $4-11, so you can have a delicious meal with swanky beverages at a discounted rate from the limited HH menu. The Happy Hour menu pricing is slightly higher than what is listed on the website, but that's how it goes. Our drinks - FMK Old Fashioned and Trouble in Paradise (a "kick-ass margarita") - were gems at only $8 a glass. We shared the Cacio e Pepe ($10) and the Hella Burger ($11) and both were outstanding food selections. At first glance the pasta dish seemed simple, but the thick bucatini had such a robust cheesy taste. Likewise, the burger uses ground wagyu chuck and bacon for a savory "meaty" flavor. The service is spot on, and your check is presented to you in a cigar box. We will welcome another visit to FMK, definitely a star in the bustling Fulton Market area. read more

I've been to Timeout half a dozen times but did not realize that this restaurant was located right next door. I was about 10 minutes late to our reservation so my friend was able to grab a drink at the bar while he waited. Our server let us know that the menu was set up tapas style where we could order smalls plates to share. We started with the tuna tartare and the crispy chicken croquettes. We shared a cacio o pepe that was creamy. My favorite part of the meal was the seasonal dessert. I ordered a miso squash creme brulee. It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Came here for a private party for work. The space itself is huge and the venue is beautiful. It's an urban and elevated restaurant that has a bit of a nightclub feel too. We had a DJ and they had lights. The service was great, we were created with wine and cocktails. And the food came out fast. Food overall was okay. We started with a few salads, which were pretty standard. We had something called "airplane chicken" and a salmon dish. The chicken was a bit dry and kinda reminded me of chicken on a plane. This is my second time coming to this Sunday Jazz brunch. I haven't been more frequently only because I live in the burbs. I love coming here it's that good! The set up is cafeteria style with big open floor plan & lots of different vendors & options. My favorite is Cleo's Fried chicken and it is hands down the best I've ever had! The waffle is perfectly crispy not too sweet and fluffy; and the wings are well seasoned and nice and crispy. We also got chicken bao bowl and ramen! So good! Came here for dinner on Saturday night with some friends. Upon hearing that it was an art gallery + restaurant, I thought it was a really cool concept but the vibes were not what I expected at all. The walls are covered in graffiti and the music playing was more EDM like, which I wasn't too too much a fan of. The food is amazing though. My friend and I got the chicken and barramundi to share. The sauces for these dishes were amazing: very subtle yet at the same time flavorful. I thought the barramundi was delicious: the sauce especially I loved. I've been here a few times for private events and it has always been a great time. The food is pretty tasty. They also have some interesting drinks and aren't afraid to torch up some fruit fit your rum cocktails. On weekend nights, they clear out the middle space so people can have room to dance. So we went to do the "Dining in the Dark" event here. Start off at 40$ for two tickets. They should tell you that the place is impossible to get to from the south. You must come in from the NE - everything south is blocked off. Not the restraunts fault. So we get in and get seated. 15$ a glass of wine on average. We do the event. Another $120 for the food and mandatory 22% tip. The food came - entry first, then "appetizer", then the desert. Weird order and I won't say what it was to spoil it for those who want to do the event - but it was very subpar for $60 each. Ours was also undercooked. Nothing special about the food. We actually left quite hungry yet. As a side issue you are supposed to hold up a candle thing to "get help" from the waitstaff as you are blindfolded. We were done so had ours off and noticed a guy at the neighboring table with his up for almost 10 minutes. Several staff went right on by him and never assisted. Sorry but you are putting your trust in people being blindfolded and this was not acceptable. The interior is awesome, music is fine but not sure if this place would survive without the Fever events. Food was poor, service ok. Hoping for a lot more - could have been awesome. read more

I asked a table for one, and ordered one more margarita and duck duck sandwich. Sandwich was delicious, but because of many people at the bar margarita was delaying. Fulton Market Kitchen hosted a special lunch event for our group, featuring a tasting menu with some shared appetizers/starters, a main course, and assorted desserts. Everything tasted fantastic! The starters featured the whipped feta, meatballs, and seasonal salad, and I loved the savory and slightly spicy flavor of the tomato sauce for the meatballs, as well as the combination of the whipped feta with the pita. But for me, the standout dish of the lunch was the grilled wagyu flank steak. While I would have liked the cook to be a bit more medium rare than medium, the meat was still tender and juicy, and the paired tamari jus, mushrooms, and potatoes were tasted delicious with the steak. For dessert, there was an assorted selection of small cakes, including a light strawberry mousse cake along with a fluffy basque cheesecake which were both not overly heavy or sweet - making them a perfect ending for the lunch. Would love to come back to the restaurant on a regular visit to try some of their other dishes out. Definitely recommend this place in Fulton Market! read more

He took our orders and got us our second round of drinks which were very good. When it came to our meals, my order was not brought out so I had to wait an extra 10 mins while everyone else ate. When my dinner arrived, I honestly was not impressed by the steak i ordered or the potatoes with a green sauce on top that I was not a fan of. They did comp some drinks and tried to give us free dessert but we were not interested. If you come here just get drinks or wait till the evening until it becomes a night club. They didn't even CALL us despite it being a day before. When we called to ask about the situation, we are told they had a large event scheduled. When we pressed and asked if this was just booked, they replied NO! This restaurant had the audacity to take our credit card at booking two months prior to charge us $25 PER PERSON if we canceled last minute but didn't have the common courtesy to CALL us or help us in any way to find a last minute reservation for 8 on a Saturday night. I was at Fulton market kitchen for a corporate networking event which was held in the private party room upstairs. We had about 35 people and the room worked out well to accommodate our group. The GM was super helpful to get our party accommodation and welcomed as we arrived. She was really helpful with everything and was pleased that she took the time to make sure things got started smoothly for us. The bar was great for speciality cocktails we had for guest as well as some brews and wines. The old fashioned seemed to be the hit in our group. The bar tender was super nice and was on top of everyone's needs. We had finger food served through the night which consisted of Sledgel Sliders, spicy chicken skewers, baked Brussel sprout open faced sandwich, crab cakes, egg rolls and a few other options followup with a nice assortment of some sweets. Over all the experience was excellent and enjoyed the room which allowed for good mingling as it's a quiet space and nice a private. I was really surprised with the food here! I wasn't expecting too much but we enjoyed everything we got for brunch. The location is a little bit further from everything in Fulton Market. It's right around the corner from Punch Bowl Social and behind Time Out Market. The menu items here are really unique. I enjoyed the Bloody Mary, the goat cheese stuffed olive was delicious. It was really hard for me to pick what to order since everything sounded really good. We ended up getting the salmon potato pancakes, which were really delicious and savory, they were very crisp and the smoked salmon and creme fraiche made it perfect. The duck hash was good as well, the hoisin gave it great flavor. The mussel frites are a must, there's plenty to share and the mussels are quite big too. It took me forever to decide what to order. The menu offering looked experimental and had a little of everything. There was no clear theme or specialty. We started with the Char Grilled Spanish Octopus and the Chilled Island Creek Oysters. Both were very yummy . The oysters were fresh and the octopus was grilled nicely - Had a tiny kick and was not too rubbery. For entrees, I ordered Pan-Roasted Barramundi and my dad ordered the Grilled Angus Beef Filet. Both were very flavorful and plated nicely. I also really enjoyed the artsy-modern decor of the restaurant. There were these cool mural paintings all over the walls that really added an edgy, yet high-end vibe to the place. Why only 4 stars then? The service was lame. When we first arrived, there was no host in sight and it took a few minutes for someone to finally notice us and seat us. Our waiter was also quite slow and took forever to take our order.
