We rented a golf cart for a day and it was great to be able to get around and explore Vieques better. The carts don't have much suspension and don't go very fast (especially up hill) but was cheap enough and worked well for the time we needed it. read more

I was hesitant to rent from these guys given the reviews, but we took the risk and I'm so glad we did. First, the guys at the hut were extremely honest with us and helped us to save money, and spend our time more efficiently. They gave us tips on the best beaches in the area, and ultimately provided us with an ideal jet skiing and paddle boarding experience. At the end of the day, we had mistakenly left a phone at the booth. With a flight to catch, we weren't able to leave the ferry and go to get it, so we asked them to mail it. Instead, they sent a gentleman to the ferry who asked around the entire place until he found us! All around, outstanding customer service, and a great way to spend our day. The Customer service was great. From check in to check out it went smoothly and the staff were outgoing and knowledgeable. We were able to explore all of Vieques on our own. The scooters were as expected for rentals. These are powerful and zip up and around the many hills on the island. You should only rent if you are a confident rider with experience. I came here about two years ago right after the hurricane hit. I was trying to help the local community by spending money here. I went on the bio bay tour. They are a complete scam. They knew the bay had no bioluminescent and didn't tell us until after we got on the bus and took the bus to the bay. They said we could just wait on the bus and receive some credit. SCAM! And scummy. They take advantage of all the tourists that come here. Please don't support them. read more

Absolute 5 stars experience with these guys. We did the bioluminescent tour and Joaquin was a great guide. There were only 2 of us for the tour (Post Maria) so it felt like a private tour. During our stay in Vieques we used two of the Fun Brothers services: Bio Bay Tour and Scooter Rental. Bio Bay Tour: We met at the Fun Brothers Hut on the Malecon, they are very punctual, so definitely show up on time. The tour guides were awesome, fun, and very instructive. Our guides (2) were on the lookout at all times for our safety and to provide assistance. During our tour, three young girls in one kayak were left behind from another bio bay tour company. Our tour guides heard the girls blowing their whistles, they searched for the girls, when found they immediately offered their assistance and brought the girls back with us to shore. It's so dark out there and I would hate that to happen to me. Choose your tour guides wisely! Also an extra plus for these guys for being so nice by dropping us off near our home, two blocks away from the Malecon. Scooter rental: Arrived at the hut, was greeted by a nice fella who showed us how to properly use the scooter. He also gave us a map of which beaches can be reached by scooter, on the map he made note of where NOT to go, as well. We had lots of fun on the scooter, it was truly a great fun way to get to know the island. $1 to fill the tank + tip! Can't beat that! read more

Unless you are a big fan of uncertainty, rudeness and people who don't take responsibility for their actions, please never use their services. We come to Veiques and first thing we did after a breakfast was to book tour to biobay. We had a great experience with our flight, hotel and breakfast. So we booked the tour with Fun Brother because they had a representative on the beach since it seemed pretty straightforward. We were offered 7pm and 9pm. We said 7 pm works for us, we paid and left. To begin with we weren't given a contract that. We should have asked for copy, but everything here seemed trustworthy . We come at 6:45 and were told we booked 9 and it is our only option. No refund no apologies. No one acknowledged that it was their mistake, gave us a call to inform about it, or offered an apology. All personal was really rude and unprofessional. Manager lies as breaths. She said that we couldn't have been offered 7 pm since there were no space but why would we even know about that option or were told to come at the 6:45? She also stated that 7 pm tours were booked by 1pm and but our receipt states we paid at 10:28. She could not answer this questions. After the trip they forged the contract by writing the time with different pen than the rest of the contract. So they are ready to lie, forge A contact and spoil your vacation. Now we will always so it before be book anything here. read more

Never choose Fun brothers in Vinque. My girlfriend with me rent the scooter from them yesterday. The woman boss tone is pretty rude. She shows her arrogant attitude to answer each of our question. After sign the contract, my girlfriend just not familiar with their scooter, may need more time to get used to control it. She found out the situation and catch up with us and yelling at us. We are definitely shocked by her. She took the scooter back mandatory and request us pay huge amount of compensation for just a little scars in surface. The whole assessment also did by her man. That is not fair! She also decide to do not pay our rental money back although we just tried 80meters long within her insight. We lost a lot and give me a feeling like there has no rule can limit her. Never trust Fun brother. Awful. read more

Don't ever book a tour with them! Waited for 1 hour and a half but no one showed up! Called them 30 times but no one picked up! We booked the hotel and flight to Vieques because of this tour; got nothing but 10 mosquito bites when we stood there waiting! It was horrible and almost ruined my vacation. Good service to the biobay, the guys were really nice and professional. 4.5 stars for that. Scooters are $60 with tax and you are expected to drive 20 minutes each way to the next town with a gas station to put $1 in gas in the scooter prior to return. I expressed doubt that this was a good way to handle the gas situation and was berated for not anticipating this nearly extra hour of time required. I just assumed there was a gas station in Esparanza. So don't make this mistake. They should also be much more courteous about that component of renting scooters. read more

They don't call back as said. If you get someone they are driving and are not prepared. They have NO BUSINESS doing vacation Trips. Do not waste your time or money. My wife and I were excited to spend an hour on the water jet skiing ($100/hour) & the rest of our day on the island on the scooter ($50/day) finding beaches. Ten minutes into jet skiing the machine died & we had to put-put back in to tell them about the loss of power & warning light. He told us to ignore the warning light & that it was just a sensor. There was very little power so I'm pretty sure it wasn't just a sensor. The mechanic got the machine going again and we got back in the water. Ten minutes later our machine died again. Fed up, we slowly came back to land. I told him that I no longer wanted to spend a whole hour on the machine that kept dying & I asked if we could just get a scooter instead. (I figured, monetarily, it was an even trade) He agreed. We get on the scooter, pick out the beaches we were going to travel to, & get off. We stopped at the Sol Food (amazing btw) & sat for about 20 minutes to eat. When we were about to jump on our scooter to leave it wouldn't start. A few guys from the Eco Travel organization nearby tried to help start it but nothing. We called Fun Brothers & they said they'd be there in a few minutes. Twenty five minutes later we called again. Again, they told us that they were almost there. Another twenty minutes passed by & the mechanic came. He fiddled with the scooter & got it going. He told us to follow him back so that we could switch to another scooter. We got back to the hut & at this point we only had a little over 2 hours until we had to catch the taxi to get back to the ferry. I tried to negotiate some type of deal since we ha lost much of our time on the island and had machines break down on us 3 times. He told me that he would get in touch with his boss & we'd talk when we turned the bike. We drove around the island, which was amazing, and found a beautiful private beach to wade in. When we returned the scooter the guy behind the counter said that we would get no type of discount even though we only had the jet skis for 20 minutes and actually rode the scooters for maybe 3 hours. Ugh. Choices are limited but do not use there guys if you don't have to. read more

we took our 1st ever biobay tour...these guys did a great job...picked us up at the Hut on time there were 11 in our group....maybe a 5 minute ride to the bay...a quick safety run thru and we were in the water for a solid hour.....a sky full of stars and the bay was alive with bioluminescent plankton....it was well worth it. $55 eac....do it.. We also rented paddle boards yesterday, $20 for an hour......paddled out to the island, walked around....just enough for us.....inflatable boards...not as easy to balance as the hard boards but you adapt quickly.... read more

Very unprofessional and shady. We booked a bio bay tour and all seemed fine until we showed up. First up they told us that we needed to pay in cash, even though we had provided our credit card number when we booked. They told us that was just to save the booking. Only one couple out of five or so had cash so it was unclear how the rest of us would pay. We got on the bus and the guide was pretty casual and distant, he didn't even tell us where we were going or what we were doing. We drove to the entrance of the park and sat around while the kayaks were attached. After sitting around for about ten or fifteen minutes we continued into the park to the bio bay. This was fine too, until we got to the actual bay. We pulled in and almost immediately the Dept. of Natural Resources officer came up to the side of the bus. The guide and the officer spoke in Spanish for a bit, and he got out of the bus. He returned after a minute or so and said "Sorry guys, it looks like we can't go out tonight." He then told us some confusing story about how we didn't have the right lights on the kayak trailer and how the company was going to be fined. We drove back to the parking lot while the guide and the two other workers complained about how the DNR "has something against this company." The guide also made some sexual and violent jokes about the officer (who was a woman). The guides behavior was very inappropriate. Someone else on the tour remembers the guide saying something along the lines of "If we get fined, we'll get fined." when we were at the parking lot, so I don't think the issue of the lights was a true mistake. I would not recommend for the bio bay tours- they don't seem to respect the bay, the rules of conservation or DNR at all. I can't speak for their other services but stay away if you want to see the bio bay. Would not recommend at all. read more

If you want to jet ski in Vieques, you really don't have a lot of choice. It may be this monopoly status that makes them play by their own rules. One of those rules is that they can - after offering you a 30 min jetski ride (which is advertised on their price list) - rescind the offer and offer you a 60 min. minimum. But if you can live with the Fun Brothers' funny business, you'll probably have...fun. After all, they have a lot of equipment, also beyond jetskis. read more

I booked them for a glass-bottom kayak tour of the bio bay and it was one of the most enchanting experiences I've traveling to date. Words can't describe how incredible it is if you'd never experienced it before. I thought I knew what a bio bay was all about when I stayed at a rental in a small bay in Mexico, but I thought wrong. The glass-bottom kayaks seemed to be in good condition and were great for getting a little extra view of the bioluminescence, although they aren't necessary because you need only stick your hand or paddle in the water to see it light up. I read a few 1-star reviews and they seem to be centered around the tour guides not showing up. I could probably see how this is the case considering they actually lost my reservation, so they don't seem like the most organized group. However, despite the mixup, the tour started on time and without too much hassle clearing it up. They gave us a long time out on the bay (I want to say 30-60 minutes) to cruise around at our own leisure. You cannot swim though. I rented a scooter elsewhere on the island, so I can't comment on that part of their business. read more

Fun Brother's Bio-Luminescent tour exceeded the hype. The tour guides were fun and friendly, they gave so much interesting information. The glass bottom boats seemed like they were just a gimmick, until you see the plankton flying underneath the boat, it was magical. All of the equipment was first rate. The owner of Fun Brother's gave us tips for all the best food trucks and restaurants in town. Tip: go on a night with no moonlight for the very best experience, but even with moonlight, it is still the trip of a lifetime. read more

We did the bio bay tour with these guys last night and had a great time. I recommend the clear bottom kayaks as you can see the fluorescent sparkle through the bottom. The tour was your typical fun spirited guides with some tacky jokes along the way. After we paddles out to the the other side of the bay where the mangrove is they give time to kayak around freely before going back. The Stars were insane. The only negative is they were maybe 10 minutes late to pick us up. read more

Jason, who was serving us at the hut, saw that we had snorkeling gear and offered us life jackets and proceeded to show us the best places to snorkel. He really took care of us and took the time to explain everything about the island without asking anything in return. Later that day we ran into some trouble. Let's just say that Jason and Randy took care of me and my girlfriend really well. If I ever go back to PR, I would ask for these guys again. Exceptional above and beyond customer service level. Very bad customer service. My husband and I walked up to inquire about the bioluminescent bay tours and golf cart rentals. The lady running the stand, an American woman with a chip on her shoulder, told us there would be no tours during full moon because it is illegal. That was fine, and my husband asked if you could walk down there to see it or if that was also illegal. In a very accusatory tone, she responded that it was "very illegal." We proceeded to ask about renting a golf cart. Her response was once again very short and rude saying she had none for days and she only rents them out with reservations for more than 5 days. When we asked if there are other places on the island that rent them she said "yes but I don't have their information because I have nothing to do with their businesses." Not a very pleasant person to deal with and we never planned to ask her for info on other businesses. Do yourself a favor and avoid this spot. read more

We wanted to rent scooters from here, so we called a day ahead and asked a number of questions about what the requirements and costs were. We go over the next morning, and when we tell one of the brothers we wanted to rent scooters he asked us if we had ridden before, and we answered honestly that we hadn't. Apparently we should have lied, because he then hesitated and told us that we couldn't rent because we weren't experienced. He had had a number of people crash recently and they weren't letting inexperienced people ride anymore. That's fine I suppose, I guess you can change your rules whenever you want, but it would have been nice to know when I had spoken to someone the day before! Wow!! The Bio Bay tour was wonderful. The guides were profesdional, made sure we knew what to do, then set us free to paddle around the magic water. At 63 I am so glad my lack of kayak experience did not stop me from this trip. The boats are very stable and bay is shallow so it turned out the risk was minimal. CAUTION! We needed to repair our bicycle and contacted this company. They were nice enough to send people to help us where we were. They fixed our bike, however they also stole our iPhone! We had our phone stolen while they were fixing the bike and were told by them they didn't see anything. Later we were able to locate the phone using an application that locates lost phones and went with the Police to where the phone was located finding these individuals right there! We don't know if these people represent Fun Brothers, but they were sent to us by them. For safety reasons, be very careful in Vieques and DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! read more

My friends are I heard that doing a Bioluminescent Bay tour was a must while we were in Vieques. We saw Fun Brothers hut while having drinks in Esperanza and decided to make reservations. The man at the hut called to make sure the tour had four spots open, which it did. My friend got a call the next saying that unfortunately Fun Brothers overbooked the tour (even though the guy at the hut called to make sure there were spots open), but they booked us with another company that had openings. IT WAS THE WORST TOUR!!! First of all, the company they put us with was DinDin that had terrible reviews we found out after. Second, the company didn't even do the real bioluminescent tour, just had us kayak around the bay. In addition, our tour guide didn't even speak English. If this is the kind of service you get with Fun Brothers, do not go with them! read more

We took a Fun Brothers tour on the bio bay. The glass bottom boats were cool, and I know that not all other tour companies have that. Also, I enjoyed the fact that the tour was a little later than most of the other tour companies. I did not enjoy the fact that our tour was cut nearly 40 minutes short so that our tour guides could get back to town and head to the bars. I knew better than to expect that a full two hours would be spent on the water, but I was very disappointed to be dropped off back in the parking lot less than an hour and a half after we left (on time) from the same parking lot. Also, I did not enjoy the fact that our tour guides needed to keep lights on the whole time and encourage our group to be making unnecessary noise while other groups were enjoying the bay in peace and quiet without additional lights. If two guides are not enough to keep tabs on a tour group without lights, maybe you need to take out smaller groups or hire an extra guide. Also, encouraging our tour group to make unnecessary noise around other tour groups was rude, and it felt embarrassing. read more
