This is a tourist trap. They packed this boat to the brim and it was uncomfortable for most of the ride. The music was AWFUL. They played only a handful of Spanish music the rest was catered to the white tourists. The lunch meat was slimy. The buffet was just not good - very basic- no savor. The other word thing was the mother who undressed her little girl in front of if everyone - wiped her down completely while men looked . The father just smiled. It was so weird having a new born, a toddler and school aged kids on a catamaran tour with liquor being served. This was weird and shameful. Don't bother. read more

Every time we visit an island in the Caribbean, we like to do a snorkel trip if possible. Quite frankly, I picked this one over the others simply based on what they offered for lunch! The reality is, several of the other tours that leave from the same place and go to the same island, Icacos, all follow the same itinerary for the same length of time. Really, the only difference is what they serve for lunch. If you drive yourself, you park on the street, which, in the early morning, wasn't an issue, and wait by the front gate of the marina. They come with a golf cart to pick you up and take you back to the boat. There are restrooms on the dock that you can use before boarding. There is also a restroom on the boat. Once on the boat, they go over safety instructions, and then they set sail. You can see the destination from the harbor, and it was a nice trip over to the island. They anchor the boat right next to several other tours, and you can go down a staircase into the water, and then wade to shore if you want to sit on the beach. Or, you can take the snorkel equipment and start snorkeling right then and there. Note, you are not allowed to take home any shells or coral from this island as it is a preserve. After spending a little more than an hour on the island, you can head back on board for lunch. They have a basket of the most amazing bread, then a spread of lunch meat and other fillings to make an amazing sandwich. They had a big bowl of fruit, chips, crackers, cookies, everything that made for a great meal. We aren't drinkers, but from the time you left the harbor throughout the entire trip, the drinks were flowing for anyone was interested. However, there is no pressure to partake, so those that weren't drinking don't feel singled out. A little while later, they pulled up the anchor and sailed to a reef about 10 or 15 minutes away. At that point everyone is encouraged to get off the boat to snorkel. When the snorkel time was over, we sailed back to the dock. They did throw bits of leftover bread into the water where we were snorkeling, which brought throngs of fish up to that area, so you could see lots of different fish swimming by. That was pretty cool! The crew was exceptionally nice, friendly, and funny. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a good time on a catamaran. read more

I googled each different catamaran tour and finally decided on this one purely based on the fact that we got to take the snorkel with us afterwards. I'm so glad we decided on this specific tour! We had an absolute blast on the catamaran that we took to Icacos Island and then the reef. We got to see a bunch of different types of fish. I wish I could have even taken a picture of the buffalo trunkfish (I googled the type of fish later) that was so curious. It kept swimming up to my face and was swimming with me the entire hour we were at the reef. It was a highlight of our trip for sure! I booked this catamaran for my boyfriend and I so that we could be on a boat for the 4th of July. Parking is on the street outside of the Villa Marina. You then walk through the guarded gate to dock J. We had a great experience. The crew was amazing and very kind. They served rum punch, pina coladas, sodas and water throughout the trip from take off to docking. Snacks were made available at the middle of the day and due to covid, lunch was brought in containers so we picked which option we wanted ahead of time. (No more buffet in covid times but this may change so check the website). We had two stops, one at icacos and one at lobos island. We had plenty of time for each spot. The boat gave out snorkeling mouthpieces for each person to keep at no extra charge. For the price/ worth, I will definitely return and go on this catamaran again read more

Absolutely perfect way to spend the day. We started early at the port (9:00 am ish) and stood with the other people waiting to get checked in and take off on our adventure. Our crew consisted of 4 members all of which helped each other out and all were super friendly and helpful the entire duration of the trip. Great communication and made sure to keep all the passengers safe and up to speed on what the agenda was and the timing for activities. Lunch was included, think kind of like subway wraps, chips, some fruit, etc. Also, as soon as we boarded and set sail they had pina coladas and rum punch for everyone. The sailing was smooth, the crew was professional and took into account all the necessary safety measures to ensure everyone had fun and returned back safely. Just a little on the destination, the beach we went to was really nice. White sands and very few people there. The area we went for snorkeling was a nice calm reef area. You still need to be careful, but it was very nice for everyone that decided to try it out. We would very highly recommend these guys if you are looking for a catamaran day. read more

The trip was amazing. The only complaint is that it's a bit too short - would be nice if we visit one more of the neighboring cayos as well. Otherwise, the boat ride was filled with thrill and surprises like whale and sea turtle sightings. We spent some quality time at the Icacos beach before going snorkeling at a nearby reef. There was still some living coral left and the water was very clear. I would recommend bringing your own snorkel though (we did) as the snorkels they had did not have a dry valve on top or a purge valve in the bottom. It's a lot less user-friendly. read more

With a name like "Spread Eagle" you know you are in for a crazy good time! The snorkeling trip on the Spread Eagle catamaran was one of the highlights on our trip in Puerto Rico. For about $75 per person we were treated to a day on the water that included lunch, snacks, rum punch, snorkeling, and relaxing on a quiet beach. The crew was fantastic and super friendly! We were constantly being offered drinks and fresh fruit. They even had pretzels for me when I got a little sea sick. There were about 20 of us on the catamaran and our group was a lot of fun. Everyone was there to party and get tipsy so it was a fun trip. We didn't even let a little rain shower get us down at the end of the day! Boat staff was excellent, friendly, attentive and followed all COVID guidance. The food was delicious, and plentiful. We paid extra for shuttle service. En route to Fajardo, the driver wore a cut up disposable mask, under her nose. I did not want to be confrontational so i sent an email to the company asking that they advise her to change her mask and wear it over her nose. She did, change her mask. Upon departure, she proceeded to lower her mask, eat a smoothy with a spoon. I asked her to please stop eating while driving as her hands weren't on the wheel safely, and to wear the mask correctly while inside the vehicle. She told me not to tell her what to do, that she was eating (shouldn't she have done that between trips, and even more inappropriately eating with a utensil?) and that if i didnt like it, i should exit the vehicle. Extremely unprofessional and unsafe. She's also breaking the executive order. We PAID for this unsafe shuttle service. The driver has no respect for the passengers, her job, or this company (if she's the first and last face some customers see, this is quite shameful). read more

Wow. I am so glad that we completed this adventure even if you do not like snorkeling you may enjoy this adventure. The views are amazing. The food is great and they keep you full. The drinks are bottomless both with and without rum. They will even give you an extra shot if you ask. The staff makes it fun and interacts with their guests. We left a few minutes late as the last party of 6 was late. The captain gave them 5 extra minutes as they were self drivers. Please note that there are two stops on this adventure to snorkel. The first one is for beginners, the second one requires a little more skill if the waters are rough. It's impossible to know until you get there. Even if you stay dry for the second stop you can watch, eat some more and drink. Please tip the staff they do work their tail off for you. If you ask the captain on the way in he may let you assist with driving for a brief period. read more

I still can't stop talking about this voyage! I research for months, different catamaran excursions in Puerto Rico for my 40th birthday. That was also kid friendly (20 month and 12 year olds), and let me tell you they did not disappoint! Every ingredient was delicious, fresh fruit platters that they cut up right then in there, great music, and the crew is top-notch and made every part of our day that much more incredible! This was my second time doing a catamaran but first time in PR. Luckily, I was able to book a day before. They picked us up from our hotel and took us to the port. The sail felt very smooth. There were two different locations to stop and snorkel. We got off on an island with turquoise water where you could explore for about an hour with beautiful scenery and we got to practice our snorkeling, I got to see a sting ray pass below me. Once we boarded back on the boat, lunch and drinks were provided. Drinks were provided through out the whole ride. The crew was very friendly. The second stop was in the middle of the water but you feel safe because there's a lot of other boats there as well. We saw plenty of fish with such beautiful colors, turtles and reefs. went with my wife and my 2 year old kid. These folks are super friendly. When they stopped near icacos for snorkelling, it was little further from shore and my wife doesnt know to swim. I can swim a bit but was skeptical to take the baby and wife together in 10 feet deep water. Even with flotation device its tough to manage. So we just wanted to stay in boat and felt rather bad. The guys there are super good, one of the guy volunteered to take my wife and my kid to beach. He did multiple trips with us and made sure we were on beach. NOT A DROP OF WATER FELL ON THE BABY! This was such a delightful thing they did for us to make us enjoy the trip without asking for help! High five for the entire team! You guys rock! They keep providing you with ample food and kept us entertained throughout the trip PS: My kid wanted apple and the guys went inside and got apple ( washed ) to him seeing him gettin glittle cranky! In celebration of my dad and brothers birthday and my moms retirement, I purchased us all tickets for the Spread Eagle excursion on our most recent trip to Puerto Rico! It was soooo much fun and totally worth the relatively affordable fee. The crew was super attentive and lots of fun! We enjoyed the snorkeling and the fresh sandwich lunch. Before going, I read reviews that mentioned the snorkeling was bad but we saw lots of pretty fish and a sting ray. I'm no avid snorkeler but I was happy seeing those things! I also like the fact that they let us keep the snorkels. My only complaint would be that the drinks were pretty weak. It was all you could drink pina coladas and rum punch but they were extremely weak. We couldn't taste the alcohol much at all. Other than that it was a good time. I would recommend it if your looking for something fun to do while in PR. The scenery while on the boat is beautiful! Bring a ton of sunscreen though because it's blazing while on that boat! read more

The folks aboard with us that day on Spread Eagle II (the name of the lovely catamaran) had so much fun on the job taking our group out to sea that it was almost like it wasn't part of their job but something that they enjoy doing for fun all the time. Now I kind of wished I had their job so I can go snorkeling all the time. We were scheduled to leave the dock at 10am but since everyone arrived early, we set sailed 15 mins prior to scheduled time. John was the captain; Amando (spelling?) was there to set up the sails and do all the necessary things for the catamaran to bring us around; Marisela was our hostess. The three of them were incredibly upbeat and friendly and made our group comfortable. We were served rum cocktails and virgin cocktails right away after we set sailed. The fresh air from the sea around us was wonderful. First we headed to an uninhibited Spanish Virgin Island for snorkeling. The shores were calm and since the island was uninhibited, I felt like I was in the tv show Lost. The boat stopped at about knee-high deep in the water so all of us could get onto the shore if we wanted to. Some of us had not snorkel before and John gave a quick demonstration on how to put on the gear and snorkel. They provided everyone with goggles and snorkel. The snorkel was for us to keep after the trip. This first snorkeling was more like practice since it wasn't too deep and the coral reef in this area wasn't all that much. However, our next stop at another island was the highlight. This time the boat stopped deep in the sea and we could snorkel away in the sea. Here the coral reef was amazing and just beautiful with the fish swimming around us. It was my first time snorkeling and I tried to take in this experience as much as I could. We were also given some pieces of bread to feed the fish in the sea if we wanted. Lunch (cold cut sandwiches) and unlimited drinks were provided for us. Being surrounded by blue water and white sand beach is itself a relaxing experience that my husband and I enjoyed. And soaking up the sun with the wind on our faces while we sailed, it was wonderful. We were also very lucky to spot 3 dolphins that day. We can't wait to do this again. Definitely a wonderful experience with nature. read more

For $150 two of us got to ride on the large catamaran (with about 20 other people) to Icacos Island. This deserted island off of Fajardo was beautiful! We spent about and hour and half here snorkeling and laying on the beach. I could stay there forever. The friendly crew then served us a buffett of make your own sandwhiches, chips, and salads. We were off to another snorkling spot, it was in the sea and about 15 feet deep. The spot provided better sealife for snorkeling but not spectacular. After 4 hours of sea and play we were back at Fajardo. Pros - Great staff Free unlimited drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) Beautiful Islands to Visit and Relax Snacks served the entire time Cons - No Introduction to first time snorkelers Snorkeling was not great, don't come on this excursion expecting to see alot of tropical fish and coral. I have gone snorkeling with them twice and both times they were great experiences. If you don't want to drive and are staying at a hotel you can pay and they will pick you up and drop you off. It is a nice bus that probably fits about 40 people and makes is really easier since the dock is about an hour from San Juan. Once you get on the catamaran they bring you drinks and take you out to a small island. They will teach you how to snorkel and you are able to practice in shallow water. They then serve you some cold cuts and snacks. They then take you out to the coral reef. I highly recommend going snorkeling with them. They provide everything that you need and it is a great day excursion. read more

We chartered the entire boat (Spread Eagle II) for our wedding guests at the end of December 2014. Booking was beyond easy and unlike several other Puerto Rican vendors, Lucho at snorkelpr.com was extremely responsive and always got back to us w/in 24 hours. We added on transport to our trip and the coach was waiting for us - even early - which is quite the feat in the islands! The staff was great all day. When the first location was crowded with other boats they were more than willing to head to the second spot a little early (it was much better). Lunch was yummy (especially the bread), the drinks were flowing all day long. This adeptly named boat provided good times in the sun all day long. I can't say enough good things about this tour! The staff (i'm sure i'm spelling the names wrong) Rafy, Dalli and Manny were so sweet, friendly and helpful! They made the excursion fun! This excursion includes 2 different stops- the first is to get your feet wet with easy snorkeling. The second stop is where you really get to see more fish and be out in the bluest water ever. We probably had about 30 people total on the boat. Plenty of room for everyone! Honestly, the best part of the excursion was the friendly staff. they made it so enjoyable! Amazing catamaran experience, with excellent crew and excellent service!! The sailing experience was great, the catamaran was in excellent condition, super clean. They provide you with the snorkeling equipment, and they point to where you you'd go to get the best out of your snorkeling time. The Icacos island where the take you has amazing clear blue water with withe sand. The second stop at the reef side in some other part of the ocean has beautiful shades of blue but still perfectly clear water. The lunch is buffet style and has many delicious options for cold cuts, fresh vegetables, tuna salad, and many other things for sandwich preparation, in addition to fruits and other snacks. I've been in other Catamaran's before and this one by far has the best cold cuts selection. And is open bar of rum punch and piña coladas. They had good music playing throughout the whole sailing trip. Crew was very attentive and very responsible about safety precautions to have a great sailing experience. Service was superb. 1. The crew - Amazing. I can't stress how friendly and helpful the crew were on our trip. Knowledgable and making sure everyone on board has a fun time! 2. The boat - Very decent. Definitely exceeded my expectations! 3. The snorkeling - We were blessed with beautiful weather and we had ample time to snorkel in shallow / slightly deeper waters. They give you a free snorkel (not the mask, just the snorkel)! They also have floatation aids for water noobs like myself :) You needn't know swimming in my opinion, but you need to be comfortable in water and you'll have a fun time! 4. Food/Drinks - There was a build you own sandwich bar for lunch, which had some decent options. For a vegetarian like me there were cheeses, tomatoes, lettuce, onions etc which you can use to assemble your own sandwich. Drinks offered on board were good too (take it with a grain of salt, they are free drinks in the middle of the ocean :) ) Overall, a lot of fun! I'd definitely recommend! read more
