I would have expected to find this spectacular noodle house in Chinatown in New York City at a much higher price point. The staff was prompt and attentive. For an appetizer, I ordered the Soup Dumplings that were excellent! Juicy and tasty! For my entree, I ordered the Pan-fried Sliced Noodle with Beef... OMG! I mean there was a chef actually making the fresh sliced noodles BY HAND in the open kitchen. The Sliced Noodles come with your choice of protein, plus eggs, Chinese cabbage, onion, bean sprouts, celery, carrots, and scallions. I assume this is their signature dish... a steal at $14.99! Run do not wok (pun intended) to the Fun Noodle Bar! I cannot wait to eat there again... I rarely come on yelp to write reviews because it's just genuinely never that serious, but today I just felt the need to. Been here before some years ago and had a decent experience. However, coming back today I would definitely not return. We started with the steamed dumplings. They were mushy instead of a nice steamed texture as if they had been sitting in water for an extended (emphasis on EXTENDED) period of time, which should have warned us what was to come. The noodles in our ramen appeared old with different pieces having different textures (soggy/mushy & stale). Everything was lack luster, the service was okay, however my breaking point was seeing one charge via my bank account and seeing another on my receipt. A decent place, we can get for dinner while in the area for training. My love had ramen which he liked (it's been a while so I don't remember the exact order). He ate to the bottom of the bowl, and there was a "25% off" marking there. I asked for the discount when we checked out. My food wasn't quite the flavor pallet I'm used to, so I had to adjust it quite a bit with added condiments. The service was nice and the place got to hopping as the night wore on. I am ecstatic that Wichita Falls has this restaurant!! My husband took me to Fun Noodle Bar for my birthday and OMG it was SO good!! We had the Tonkatsu Black, Beef Chow Mein, Soup Dumplings and a bowl of Egg Noodle Soup. Everything was AMAZING. We walked out completely stuffed. With the price and quality of food, I would say this is a decent Asian restaurant. I noticed the primary servers speaking in Chinese, while the decor of the restaurant is primarily Japanese. The place is nice for westernized Chinese food, considering how deliciously greasy their beef roll as an example. Additionally, the menu is correct serving noodle -not ramen. I had a spicy beef noodle and could tell the noodle was fresh made but not cooked in broth. The bowl had a separate taste, while looking like a ramen bowl. Ramen supposed to be well integrated per bite. As an Asian born in California, I would pass on coming back due to my familiarity of real Asian food. I'm not sure how many times I have checked in here since it opened, but this place became part of our regular rotation after our first visit. The noodles are fresh and are made right in the front window (our kids love this). They also taste amazing :) Each of the dishes we have tried has been amazing. We've ordered takeout from here. It is okay. It does hit the spot when needed but we prefer Asian Kitchen. Let me tell you why. Their teriyaki chicken had way too many onions. Who puts all those onions in teriyaki chicken? The beef and broccoli was pretty tasty. We had pad Thai as well and it was pretty tasty. They used a different kind of clear noodle. My kids liked the scallion pancakes. As someone who knows good Chinese food, I feel like they could do a better job with core dishes. We haven't dined it yet. And these are my thoughts: 1) Chinese employees speaking Mandarin...must be legit! ;) 2) Very clean and open restaurant where you can see your food being made - they make their own noodles from scratch: hand pulled noodles, sliced noodles, dumplings 3) Dining area isn't too small and not too big, just about right for maybe 25-30 people I think Now for the food 1) You can taste the freshness of the noodles which are very delicious (perfect chew to them). 2) the soup of the Dan Dan noodles tasted a bit salty and off to me so I wouldn't get them again 3) the Pork soup dumongs were juicy and pretty but I have had better 4) the meat in the pan fried baos was a bit dry but the dough was tasty 5) the pan fried sliced noodles were my favorite and I would definitely get that again. Loved the noodles, sauce was almost perfect (just added some spice to make it work), just wish there was a little bit more meat. Giving it 5 stars because it is Wichita Falls, not Austin, Dallas, or Houston. It's as authentic as you can get for Chinese noodles and dumplings, again for Wichita Falls. The Mongolian Beef is a 5 star dish here, a beautiful combination of savory, sweet and with the addition of chili sauce on the side gave it a solid amount of kick. I ordered the sliced noodle beef soup. I do not recommend. The soup base had a horrific smell to it. The only way I can describe the smell is it reminded me of my dirty dog's bath water. I could not eat it. When I asked about the beef slices in the soup, the waitress told me that was Pork. Beef and pork are two different meats. Whatever kind of meat it was, it didn't look like either. Thank god I ordered an appetizer (which was normal and good). Ok, gotta say, for Withca Falls it's good. Decent flavor, fresh and filling. Now if you try and compare to say like DFW, Austin or San Antonio, we'll then you'll be disappointed.
