I wish I could write separate reviews for Matt the guy at the site; he was really nice and very helpful. The owner's son was another story; He seems irresponsible, uninterested in the business and totally devoid of the ability to accept personal responsibility. Somehow I was double charged for the rental which is an honest mistake anyone can make. We didn't notice this until our bill came in. I called Mark right away. He said he was in class and couldn't help but that he'll look into it and get back with me later. He never called back. I called the next day and he didn't seem to remember speaking with me and acted very irritated that I wanted my $340 back. He said all my paperwork is at the Jawbone site and that he'd call me back in a few days. The third time I called him he used his daughter as an excuse as to why nothing was done. Even more infuriating is that every single time I called him I had to remind him who I was and what I was calling him about. Mark at Fun Time ATV made no attempt to investigate my double charge, no attempt to apologize and no effort to refund my money. It is for these reasons I find him to be irresponsible and unprofessional. I recommend no one to patronize his business. read more

Terrible service overall. They make it seem like they have two seater for adults, which you can reserve online, but they don't really have that. After reserving online a month in advance, my family arrived early to find a larger group had shown up without reservations, dropped cash on the counter, and took the ATVs many of us had already reserved. "Hey, I needed the cash," is what Matt said. We got crumby equipment, but better than a family after us that got nothing, after a two hour drive from LA. My ATV broke down. My son and I spent about a half hour making sure it wasn't in gear, trying to push start it, etc. I walked back, about 1.5 miles. Matt went out and got it, and of course it started right up. He said it was in gear, therefore clearing him of any fault. Save your money, or find something else to do. This was a total waste of time. read more

I had a fun time up until , they tried to accuse us of damaging the fender of the vehicle. My husband was driving slow . It broke down four times on our way back .. luckily some guy was there to help us restart it the first time and taught us what to do if it happened again . We had to wait like five to ten minutes in between when it would stop and then it would start again. We were going to let the employees know about this but instead they started trying to accuse us of damaging the atv rental. Luckily we had taken a picture right before we started using the atv. We showed him the photo and then he argued for a little bit about the time but couldn't make a solid case so he stopped. This is disappointing, we had a good time and the employee tried to scam us in the end. They should be thankful for our business especially during Covid times. I called to ask about rental options and then rented a dirt bike for two days through the online reservation form. When I showed up to sign the paperwork the charge was $120 higher than what I had been told on the phone and saw on the website. Eventually Mark agreed to honor the lower price, but the higher charge had already been made so he said he would refund the difference. After the rental I emailed twice and called three times and every time he said he would take care of it "today". Eventually I had to dispute the charge on my credit card. I would never rent from this place again. If you do rent, confirm the exact price before arrival, get the paperwork before you leave with the bike, and pay in cash. The bike itself was functional but neutral didn't really work. My experienced rider friend could only get it once. He also noticed a number of missing bolts on the bodywork. One more note about the reservation process, the form appears secure but then it just sends all your information to an email. It is being used in a way it was not originally intended. read more

There's no guided tour and you truly get to free ride with your companions for a long time. This was such an amazing experience! My family and I came up here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. This was all of our first time driving these kind of vehicles and the staff were super helpful and patient with our group. They took their time teaching us and getting us ready before we got out on the open road and didn't start our time until the last member left the lot. Mathew and Chipper were the staff members that assisted us and even gave us some BBQ before we left ( I guess they had extra, but even so it was super nice of them). This place is a scam. First of all, they give you janky vehicles. They kept giving us different prices for the deposit. When we came back they charged us for damage on the quad but wouldn't show us what was damaged. WE DIDNT DAMAGE ANYTHING. They took $420 from us, and then tried to steal an extra $100 and pretended like they forgot. When my boyfriend was talking to them, they were telling him about how some rappers rented some quads and barely scratched them and JIPPED THEM FOR $3000!!!!! Hello, I would highly recommend avoid going to this place it is a SCAM!! Im from out of town me and my friend decided to rent three ATVs on 7/27/20. I reserve a spot online. Called the day before to confirm. We drove a hour to Fun Time ATV just to wait another hour past our schedule riding time because they "overbooked" on accident. So unprofessional in my opinion. Now get this after waiting the guy at the front tells us after signing all of our documents it would be "1800" deposit for the three "small sized atvs" Right away I knew something was off. For one i did my research most Atv companies who have deposits list it on there website. No where on the website stated that there was a deposit. I told the guys could they show me and of course they couldn't. They thought it was a joke and laughed about us not being able to afford it. Never in my life have I experience such unprofessionalism!! But no wait it gets worse. We ask for a refund since we couldnt ride, the guy at the counter said the owner Mark would process it and it would come in 2 days. By the third day no refund. So I text Mark he said he would process it today. Ok so i waited and still nothing the payment has posted and still no refund. I texted the owner one more time he says " It was never taken from your account since we refunded you before it did. That's why you don't see the charge" LIES LIES LIES. The payment posted to my account and my bank advise me there was no refund attempt made to my account. I screenshoted him the charge and told him I didn't understand what he meant because the charge already came out. The only thing he responded was hes not sure either. Pretty straightforward shop. If you bang up their equipment they will make you pay dealer repair rates "we have to drive it to LA to be serviced by the dealer", then they never repair it. We rented a Rhino that the roll cage was bent out of shape...they said someone ran into the aqueduct and they haven't had time to fix it. Well there was rust all over the bent bar from where the impact was ages ago... The rest of the Rhino was pretty similar. The fuel filter hadn't been changed in ages (if ever). It kept stalling when idle. The tailgate was hanging on by a shoe string. We also made a reservation for 9am and the equipment didn't arrive until 10:23. (Seinfeld episode anyone?) Equipment was filthy. I suppose this is expected...but you'd think they could at least blow it off with an air compressor. The place is ran by a 'take it or leave it' mentality. It works, but customers definitely don't always leave happy. That said, they basically meet expectations; they give you something to ride around in the dirt in. read more

Fun time is an understatement! My girlfriends were visiting from out-of-town and we're always looking for new and exciting experiences and decided to go ATV riding in the desert! It was one of the funnest and memorable things we've done together. We paid $95 for 2 hours and that was ample time. We drove around donut holes, drove down hills, and I got stuck driving off the road a number of times. What you need to know: 1. If you're not planning on reserving ATVs, get there early! The minimum requirement for reserving ATVs is for a 4 hour time slot. We drove up there at the break of dawn. Keep an eye out for the dirt bike on the post--it'll serve as your landmark. 2. They're open only on weekends, unless you make special arrangements for large groups. 3. There is a $500 deposit for the rental--credit/debit cards preferred--this is to ensure that the vehicle returns in one piece. It will be credited back to your account upon vehicle inspection. 4. You do not need to have prior knowledge of ATV driving and they will train you for approximately 15 minutes before you disembark. 5. It's cold, so dress accordingly. I wore boots and a thick puffer jacket. 6. The facility is equipped with complimentary used gloves, helmets, goggles, chest shields, knee pads and elbow pads for your protection. read more

MAKE A RESERVATION EVEN IF THEY TELL YOU THAT YOU WONT NEED TO!!!! We got really lucky because they sold out right after us. Most recently we rented a 250 quad from them. Daisy and Juan are really cool, very helpful and have a great sense of humor even though it gets chaotic in there with tons of frustrated people who didn't make a reservation. Everything is straight forward and no surprises or hidden costs. If you reserve with cash you can save 5% :) We put a $500 cash deposit down and when we returned the quad after 24 hours they took the rental amount out of the deposit which makes it easy. I believe my 24 hour rental was about $233.00 yea it is pricy but when you dont own your own it's worth it. Next time we plan to camp near the rental because I would be happy with just a 2 hour rental. I just put around for a couple hours. As for the quad they only had semi automatics but I caught on quick. Juan made sure I understood before I left. Ran fine not the prettiest thing to ride and it had seen better days for sure but it got the job done and I had a blast. read more

This is the most fun you can have. The drive from the Valley is about 1.5 hours, but its well worth it. If you are going over the weekend, you can reserve, but during the week its first come, and they have lots of ATV/s and dirt bikes. My boyfriend and I had an itch for a day out in the sun and decided to call up Fun Time ATV Rentals. My boyfriend had rented from them in the past and it was something that he had wanted to do with me. We rented a four seater Polaris for $470.00 for five hours. The price included use of safety equipment- helmet, gloves and goggles. I felt like the staff put an emphasis on safety and they would have been accessible if we had run into trouble out on the trails, which we didn't. They were friendly, especially after our ride, when they wanted to made sure that we had a good time. Make sure you bring a packed lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen and a camera- the desert landscape is gorgeous, especially the vibrant green rocks. Also be sure to stop at the ranger station down the road from Fun Time and purchase a trail map. The map is invaluable as there are so many trails and even with the map, it's easy to get lost! We had a great day out and are eager to go again. read more

We've rented a few times from Fun Time and enjoyed it both times. While the office always seems a bit... confused/disorganized, the guys make up for it in being genuinely friendly and helpful (Matt and Grizz rock!). Rented over Father's Day weekend in 100 degree heat and really enjoyed a long loop on some of the trails before heading back early. The bikes were great, only one minor issue with one being "finicky" on restarting, otherwise zero problems and a great day out as a family. They seemed to really care that we were safe and knew how to ride before letting us head out, which I appreciate. Poor customer service. Employee with beard seems to be on drugs and attempted to charge $250 for a small hole in the center tread of the tire that could have been patched easily. Mark then quotes prices higher than shown online and acts like it is a great deal. Greedy and scam like actions on myself who use to rent from them yearly. Online their "Haul Out Prices" aren't real. Mark makes up his own higher prices than he posts online and has no explanation for it saying it is beating a dead horse to talk about it. AND he ALSO charges an extra $30 prep fee per vehicle on top of his higher personal haul out prices. In response to the reply below, I DO appreciate your deal and earlier professional negotiations. I only have you a bad review after attempting to charge me more than your posted rates. The tire could have been plugged, and your employee who I believe his name is Matt, said he "feels he now owns the store since you are never around and he says he is in charge". It was NOT a sidewall hole. It was a small hole in the center of the treads. I feel he is doing things behind your back and attempting to make additional money by exploiting customers. Called and got told we would have to put a security deposit of $1,000 because we had a group of 8 people. We drove 3 hours and they then told us that it would cost us $4,500 for a security deposit. When I told them that's not what I was told on the phone the guy told me "well, you talked to the owner and not me" and laughed. Just about an hour and a half drive north of the city, you will find a spot in Jawbone canyon calling itself Fun Time ATV Rentals it's easy to get to and well worth the trip. This is the second time making the trek I came last year about the same time with my then 11-year old son, we had a blast then and looked forward to another exciting afternoon together out in the high desert of southern California. Once we arrived we were met by a mountain of a man named Messiah who was not only personable but knowledgable as well about the terrain and the equipment, it was 105 degrees when we arrived and would reach 113 by the time we were done and Messiah's offer of ice-cold bottled water (free of charge) was appreciated and accepted. The place has been upgraded and outfitted to meet all the COVID-19 requirements (mask-wearing, hand sanitizer, social distancing, etc.) and that was appreciated as well, in no time at all my son and I were set up with a couple of well maintained and fast dirt bikes a 150cc for my son and a 230cc for myself. We were given instruction and assessed at our levels and understanding of the terrain which can be pretty challenging and dangerous if your not careful, another piece of advice would be to carry water in a canteen as the reality of dehydration is always present no matter how skilled you may be. Then your off, for my son and me it was 4 hours off fun, excitement and lots of challenge! One of the main reasons for coming here for me is that it is a unique environment that has enhanced the bond between my son and myself that I haven't found anywhere else yet, the afternoon put me in several situations where I had to rely on my son's assistance and maturity to escape danger, whether it was assistance with a dropped machine or stuck wheel or seeking shade for a well-timed drink from the canteen, my son, had my back and I had him and that is empowering for a 12year old. By the time we had rolled back into the little general store managed by a lovely woman named Connie whose store is stocked with ice-cold drinks and treats who welcomed us in and remembered us from the prior year she had us sit under the cold airconditioning and told us to relax until we revived (which was longer for me) my son and I were able to look at the footage we had both shot him on his GoPro 7 mine on my cell phone only to decide to go out one more time to get some exciting hill climb footage my son could post online, by the time we finished we were exhilarated, exhausted, satisfied and darn near dehydrated. I will come again next year for another unique bonding afternoon in the high desert of southern California where challenge meets excitement.
