Awesome spot! I'm dairy free & gluten free and hardly ever get to join in on dessert time with my family but this place had so many options! Everything is so well labeled and the 3 ladies working were so unbelievably kind and informative. They encouraged me to try almost all the DF options and were excited to hear my thoughts. The flavors were super unique too, chili mango, honey lavender, etc and I honestly didn't think I'd like them but I loved every single one!! My husband was pretty pumped about the carrot cake flavor. This is a cute little Italian ice shop. They also have ice cream, although the two flavors I tried of the ice cream weren't my cup of tea. I opted for watermelon and mango Italian ice. My husband had the banana and strawberry Italian ice flavors. All of them were good, but I loved the mango the most. It had the best texture whereas the watermelon was a bit more icy (possibly due to the texture of the fruits/juices themselves). I like that they offer reusable containers which we can bring back the next time we come to the beach. The servers were very friendly and efficient. read more

Super friendly person serving customers. She told me all about the flavors and offered me samples of anything i wanted. They had a honey lavender ice cream that i was curious about - turns out it wasn't really my thing, so it was nice to get a sample and not a full scoop. I ended up getting a scoop of birthday cake - not a strong cake flavor, more like plain ice cream with LOTS of sprinkles, but it was still good. The server told me they make everything in house, including the Italian ice and that she preferred the ice over the ice cream. She convinced me to sample the watermelon ice and I wished i had done that before i got the scoop of ice cream. This ice cream is so freaking good! The owner(I think) and her child are so so nice every time we have gone. It is such a cute little place at the end of the boardwalk and always has good low music playing. They have a ton of dairy free (and even sugar free) options! Not only that, some (maybe all I can't remember) are made with coconut cream and you cannot taste the coconut at all! Which is super important to me because I can ALWAYS taste the coconut in dairy free ice creams and it BUMS. ME. OUT. I am a coconut hater, but their dairy free sugar free chocolate is actually amazing. I am lactose intolerant so I was super happy that it tasted so good. The sugar free is made with stevia leaf and you also don't get that super nasty stevia aftertaste. It really just tastes like ice cream. Anywho, yap sesh, great people, great ice cream, great prices. Our favorite ice cream/Italian ice on Carolina Beach. The first time we stepped in to the shop we loved it. There are cool old photos on the wall of what the boardwalk look like long ago. The staff was super friendly and helpful and since then we've returned several times during our stays. We bought the reusable cups that are now part of our regular beach gear bag. It's fun (and tasty) to mix and match flavors and share with each other. Their Italian ices are delicious and the ice cream creamy and so full of wonderful flavors. Great milkshakes are few and far between. I told the young man behind the counter that I'm a shake freak and I am usually disappointed with any shake I get. While the photo of the nice older lady in the window of the competition made me interested, I decided to go here because the place looked classier. It's a solid mix of cool treats for a hot summer afternoon with house made ice cream, Italian ice, shakes and more. I opted for the chocolate m&m's ice cream and got some extra m&m's added on as a topping for a little extra crunch. The ice cream was nice and smooth and the toppings were generous. I got a medium but probably could have gone for a small instead. The staff inside the store were very helpful and friendly, exactly what I would expect for a tourist town. You do pay beach prices, but I suppose that comes with the territory. Overall, probably the gem of the Carolina Beach Boardwalk, I may pay another visit before I leave town! read more

Wanted some Italian ice to smooth out the night and this place did just that! It was very refreshing and right by my hotel. I got the mango and piña colada. I was not a fan of the piña colada though. It had an odd flavor. Not really like a piña colada. They only had smalls available (which was 2 scoops), but they were kinda huge for 1 person, so it didn't bother any one of us. I really hate to leave a bad review but the icecream i got from here was really awful. I got vanilla chip and it tasted like freezer burn. It had a very icy consistency, not creamy. I will say that i did also get the cherry ice and that was good! However the service was not great, the guy that served us wasn't very friendly and didn't seem to pay attention to anything we said. He told us they were out of almost every cup size except for one, so we all had to get the same size, which was annoying. The ice cream was creamy and definitely homemade but the only mix-ins in the ice cream was on top making the ice cream smooth instead of with cookies or with nuts, etc...i asked the same question as the customer ahead of me...Can you please scoop from the top... the girls working there kept saying the ice cream had the same mixed throughout but the must have been hallucinating because it was CLEAR the oce creams were smooth and without mix-ins. Ice cream was good. The big problem was the waffle cones. They're made so incredibly thin here that upon first lick, your whole cone breaks. They also leak like crazy out the sides and bottom. So, if you get ice cream here, be prepared to get very messy, very fast. read more
