For example, he used traditional hand casts for orthotics vs. lasers. Gotta say, I like these. The only minor area for improvement is the administrative side; the office a digital experience for tracking billing, viewing receipts, or managing records online. It's a bit of a manual process, but honestly, for the level of care and expertise Dr. Levi provides, it is a very small price to pay. I rolled my ankle last summer and I thought I could just handle the recovery on my own... but 4 months on, my ankle was still 2x the size and constantly bothering me to where I couldn't sleep. Before being totally resigned to having to buy different sized shoes for the rest of my life, I finally asked my primary doctor for a referral, but the clinic recommended had a 4 month waitlist and did not accept my insurance. So I went to my trusty Yelp search and Santa Monica Sports Medicine was the top result, and so I decided to book an appointment. Calling the office was a breeze and I had an appointment within a couple weeks. They kept prompt communication and verified my insurance benefits right away, which amazingly helpful (I've experienced many doctor offices that just leave you on your own and tell you to call insurance yourself before booking an appointment). When I came for my first appointment, I was surprised to be seen by Dr Trumpi herself, because I felt my injury was fairly minor... also I couldn't even say it was a sharp pain, just more an annoyance to daily life. Dr Trumpi took her time with me even though asking lots of questions and I felt immediately comfortable with her and that I was in good hands. She wrote up an exercise plan and walked me through a variety of in clinic treatment options and tailored everything to my comfort level, from massage to electrical stimulation and so on. I continued every couple weeks with her and was amazed how quickly my ankle improved. I no longer was resolved to have to buy different sized shoes! She also started treating me for my chronic back pain -- which again, I never thought was a big deal --just life soreness haha, but I now know it's actually something treatable. So when I more recently got knee pain in that knee, I called and made an appointment with Dr. M. I waited months to see him but knowing he's the best, I waited. I arrive and am seen by a NURSE. Not saying nurses can't be good but she was not Dr. M. Then I was told, oh he now only sees athletes and people under a certain age (50?). X-rays were taken and the nurse walks in the room and says she knows what's wrong already. X-ray diagnosis is a no no. She didn't ask enough history and barely touched me. She wanted to inject my knee and I almost let her but the whole thing felt wrong. Went for a 2nd opinion elsewhere and based on a thorough history and physical, she diagnosed a ligament (medial collateral) NEXT to my knee joint as the problem. An injection into the right structure relieved my months of pain overnight. So, if you are an athlete or young enough, I'd recommend Dr. M as the very best. But if you're older or not an athlete - ask lots of questions when you think you are making an appointment with him.

I was advised to go to this doctor because at the time my roommate was an image technician (ct, xray, mri) at St Johns and dealt directly with patients like myself, and he noted that this doctor was the best in his opinion based on his experience dealing with his patients as compared to the outcomes of other doctors. Later on, I had another surgery on my right elbow from another doctor for a similar situation and the elbow that Dr. Ehrhardt touched has had much less problems. I'm writing this review because I was looking up Dr. Earnhardt for one of my friends injuries and noticed that he had some negative reviews. My experience was excellent with him and I would not hesitate to go with him again so long as insurance allowed it.

After dealing with chronic knee issues and struggling to find the right orthopedic surgeon near me, I was referred to Dr. Powell by a friend in the sports medicine world. From the first consultation, it was clear I was working with someone who genuinely cares, listens, and knows his craft inside and out. We discussed all the options, including non-surgical routes, but ultimately surgery made the most sense -- and I'm so glad I trusted him with it. The care I received before, during, and after the procedure was exceptional. His team is organized, responsive, and incredibly supportive, which made the whole experience feel seamless even from across the country.
