From the minute we first talked to Doug & Justin at FUReverFun we knew we picked the right place. Thoroughly caring and conscientious, they treated our French Bulldog Gigi as if she were a member of their own family. If I could give more stars, I would. Finding someone to trust with your dogs is priceless, and I couldn't better recommend Doug and Justin to take care of your furbabies. We have two dogs, Juniper and Huckleberry, both around 52 pounds but with very different personalities -- Juni is reserved and naturally obedient, and Huck is...well, he's very curious and loud about it! Being a trainer, Doug knows how to adjust his care to what each dog needs, so both of my dogs received the care that each needed. I can't express enough how relieving it is to know that my pups are in good hands! Before booking, we were invited to check out the space and get to know each other. The space itself is well organized and clean. Huckleberry being a curious dog likes to get into things, but I could clearly see that wouldn't be the case here -- the space is very dog friendly! After our meet and greet we decided to book, which was super easy. Justin and Doug set up a group chat where the details of the stay are coordinated. We were able to take advantage of their pickup and drop off optionality, which they offer to clients that live in SF, and honestly this was so convenient that it's game changing for travel days. During their one week stay, we received updates with pictures, which again, is priceless. Most importantly, when we picked up our dogs, they were in perfect condition. We have boarded our dogs at other high-end places, but our dogs always come home either crazier, skinnier, or with chapped noses. But that wasn't the case for the first time ever. Our dogs were returned to us with the same weight, happy eyes, healthy noses, and their normal energy levels. I couldn't be more thankful! Stella was a flighty, sweet 7 month year old puppy and I had to leave her for 10 days and was an absolute mess, worried how I'd be able to find someone who could balance my dog dad anxiety, as well as keep her tail perpetually wagging in my absence. Since then, she's stayed with them no fewer than 60 times for both daycare and overnight stays. I travel for work and they have always done their best to accommodate my last minute requests, which have often been emergencies for me. I am a tiger parent, and I would never trust Stella with just anyone. I need to know she's always engaging with other dogs, getting exercise, and staying happy and chipper. I get videos and pictures of Stella playing with other dogs, fetching the ball, and really enjoying the pack life. When Doug and I first connected over Stella, I chatted with him for 30 minutes on the phone, getting the lowdown on their approach and what they would do in X situation, etc. Doug then came over and spent 30 minutes in my apartment with Stella to see what kind of a dog she is, how she behaves, etc. This was very important for me to witness, because I saw that they took care to ensure that she was a good fit for their pack. The last thing any of us want is to drop our animal off in a place where she will be bullied, neglected, or made to feel unsafe. Instead, Doug talked to me about her timidness and anxiety and made me feel at ease, as I could tell he knew how to handle her trepidatious demeanor. This is a very big differentiator for me. I had boarded Stella a few times before with another company, and when I picked her up, she seemed noticeably off each time. One time she came back with an eye infection. And perhaps the worst thing I observed was that these other guys returned Stella to me unleashed at the end of the day without even verifying that I was her owner. That was the last time I ever went back. At the end of the day, it comes down to trust and communication. My ~10 month old 'pup', Emma, who has tons of energy and always wants to play, comes home tired but not cranky (often even well-behaved on the way home and then...flop...sleep)! We set up a meet and greet for the next day, and Emma was able to start attending daycare later that same week. I was so appreciative of how fast she was able to start, but they didn't cut corners- they properly vetted us to make sure my dog was a good fit, temperamentally appropriate for daycare, up to date on vaccines, etc, which gave me peace of mind that my dog would be safe around the rest of the pack. My pup absolutely LOVES Doug, who clearly knows what he's doing. She gets so excited to see him (and/or other staff) at drop off...it almost makes me jealous of the love he gets from her ;). Something that stands out about FURever is how easy they are to work with. I read in other reviews how flexible and responsive they are - and it's 100% true. Several times I've ended up having to work late, and they've been able to accommodate me no problem, which always put me at ease. Another aspect I like is their facility is quiet (insulated from outside noise) so the dogs aren't barking all the time in response to external noises (from what I can tell at least), which isn't the case with some other noisy daycares which can encourage barking in otherwise quiet dogs, a behavior I certainly didn't want Emma to pick up. I leave my German Shepherd, Miles with them and feel totally at ease leaving town knowing that they will give him plenty of love and also know how to manage a few of his quirks. I feel great knowing he is in their loving and professional care. They have also helped my parents by housesitting and staying with their two dogs (one of whom is 16 and requires potty breaks about every 2-3 hours). My parents said it was some of the best money they've spent and that the house was left in a better shape then when they left it. But I do know this: after a few days of taking my puppy to FUReverFUN, my dog would go absolutely haywire with joy in the mornings when I would ask him "do you want to go to daycare?". You can't get a better guarantee that you're leaving your dog with the right people, and my dog has never reacted that way with past daycares. Doug and Justin run a daycare that my dog loves, they're incredibly organized and communicative, and have always been super flexible and accommodating with my needs. They also make you forget that they have one of the most stressful jobs on Earth, because Doug always has the most genuine smile on his face when you drop your dog off.
