It is currently 8:07 PM on New Year's Eve. Our heat was out this morning, we woke up to a cold house, and called Jordan. He said his schedule was a bit busy but he'd make time for us either way. He did show up at 7:00 PM, having apparently already worked for 9-10 hours already, but said he didn't want us to freeze overnight if he put it off until tomorrow. Patched it up right quick while answering a few furnace questions I had about the gas valve and heat sensor, etc., making sure everything he could see was resolved before leaving. We called Jordan at Furnace Aid to do an inspection of our older furnace and get an opinion on whether we should consider replacement before the weather gets freezing cold. There are very few contractors to whom I feel that I can ask the question of whether something in our house should be replaced and expect an honest answer. Jordan from Furnace Aid is definitely one of that select list. He is highly knowledgeable, prompt and exceptionally honest. After doing a visual inspection of our older furnace and some basic testing, he was able to tell us that everything was working well and that we could reasonably put off getting a new furnace this year. Though our furnace is definitely on the older side, that gave us confidence that we didn't need to rush to replace our furnace before this coming winter. Recently, during extremely cold weather, in despair I called another company and Furnace Aid to get my furnace working. The other company came 1st, but couldn't it to work: they had no parts and couldn't find the parts locally. They quoted $8,000 to install a new furnace the next day. Furnace Aid is who you wan to call if you have a problem with your furnace. Jordan came out to fix our furnace on a Saturday and he was quick to diagnose the problem and fixed it with parts in hand. In addition, repair was also reasonably priced. What I got when I called the competition: We discovered our furnace wasn't working this past Saturday. Our Carrier Furnace indicates the potential problems with a flashing LED code (Code 13: Limit Circuit Lockout). I called five heating/furnace repair outfits on the eastside (Including Furnace Aid). Two didn't call back until Monday, One has a 24hour answering service, but the service technician never call us and one service called us back and totally discounted the LED code and then said he probably couldn't get a part until Monday. Jordan from Furnace Aid was here and inspected our furnace for routine maintenance (last time done was 5 years previously), and installed a new thermostat for us. We wanted a programmable model, but not "high tech blootooth" type. He brought exactly what we wanted and didn't try to upsell us. He also inspected our gas fireplace. Even though they are located in Issaquah they very kindly helped me look up the warranty on my furnace. This resulted in that the people who sold me the furnace had to come out and fix it. It was far cheaper to pay them the labor than it was to replace it. It was less then ten years old!!! I totally appreciate these guys!!! read more

Our very expensive Bryant furnace was acting erratically. One call to "All Heating Services" and the technician replaces a switch to the tune of over $1,000. Furnace continues to act erratically...not heating all the way to 70, shutting off during the heating cycle, etc. Skip from Furnace Aid came out and realized that the condensation hose was plugged. He quickly fixed the issue and for $200 our furnace is working completely normal again. The next step with allhearingservices was that they wanted to replace the very expensive OEM motor for over $4500. Save yourself any headache and call Skip. Skip is very busy so you have to be patient, but he is worth your wait! Skip also mentioned that there is lawsuit brewing over these Bryant furnaces which was a good bit of information. I recommend Furniture Aid to everyone. Our furnace motor wore out and the house was freezing. Jordan made a house call around 8pm to assess what needed to be done. He determined the motor needed replacing. He was able to do a temporary fix so that we got some heat while waiting for the motor to be ordered. I woke up to find my gas heater had failed and my house was cold. After looking at reviews here and elsewhere I called Furnace Aid before their opening time. Within 10 minutes of opening they had called me back and arranged a mid-day visit to get my furnace running again. Jordan arrived a few minutes early, and quickly diagnosed the problem. After replacing a faulty circuit board he cleaned and "tuned up" the furnace and left a detailed report of what he did. When all was said and done, the service ending up costing about half what I expected it would. I couldn't be happier! read more

Skip was punctual and worked quickly. He has an incredibly dry sense of humor and is a bit awkward, but is a nice enough guy. When I said my house was in Seattle he replied with an "awww mannnnn" as if I wasn't paying him for the work. "How'd you get a hold of me?" "Yelp, my friend." After just a little bellyaching, Skip replaced the valve inside my furnace, moved and replaced the gas shut off valve and added a capped T in the line so I can plumb in a gas stove later for $373 ($137 for the 30 min housecall). I'm only giving Skip 4 stars because he couldn't fix my furnace problem. Apparently for warranty situations he isn't a dealer and can't get paid on some of those situations from the manufacturer...but I can understand why he wouldn't want to work for free. He recently came out to help me with a furnace problem, and i was expecting to pay his service call fee. $135 I think they said on the phone. Skip arrived about 5 minutes early and investigated and asked me questions for about 45 minutes until he found the problem. In the end he did not charge me anything. Nice guy, and he won't charge you an arm and a leg like *some* other places. I will be using Skip again should I ever have furnace problems again. read more

We have called Skip a few times for our problem child furnace. He is punctual and charges a fair price. Our furnace died again this winter and it was due to a part that failed that Skip had replaced in with the last 1.5 years. Not happy. There were other issues that were under warranty. Skip had mentioned in his last visit that our brand of furance has a defective part and it would cost $1000 to fix it . We would be better off just buying a new furnace. What he didn't mention is that the reason it would cost so much because he is not a dealer of that brand. Not full disclosure. We called someone else because he wasn't available and that is how we discovered the reason for the price discrepancy. read more

In a world where you assume that service people will take adavantage and tell you that you need repairs that you do not need - when my furnace stopped working, I braced myself for the worst. My wife new of Skip @ Furnace Aid in Issaquah - all I can say is that Skip is Amazing!!! A throwback to the day when service people were honest, ethical and knew how to get things done. Skip - extracted the motor, oiled it, reinstalled and had the furnace working in about 20 minutes start to finish!!! March 2012: Skip did an excellent job getting our furnace up and running. He is a skilled and creative troubleshooter, and put his full concentration on getting our heat back on. He is a conscientious tradesman, and I will be calling him again if I ever have furnace problems. Call him. You'll be glad you did. Update October 2016: Our gas water heater gave up the ghost, and Skip was my first phone call. He prioritizes "no heat" and "no hot water" jobs, and made sure that he came out to get our new water heater installed as soon as possible. It ended up being a bit of a late evening, but Skip and his son, Jordan stuck with the job all the way through, and left the plumbing even better than when they found it. After waking up to a cold house and an unresponsive thermostat this morning, I called Skip at Furnace Aid on a friend's recommendation. After talking to Skip about the symptoms, he guessed at the problem but I told him I didn't think that was it for a variety of reasons. Despite a busy schedule he was able to stop by this afternoon, and sure enough his initial diagnosis was spot on. He got the furnace working again and was on his way in under an hour, and charged a very fair price for the service. Skip is a really nice guy and was definitely quick about getting his job done! He was willing to come to my house at 7am on a Monday (he actually showed up at 6:45am) and fixed my furnace that I'd been told had to be replaced. This made me go from a $3000-$5000 expense to $450...and it took him all of 15 minutes! The only thing that suprised me was he fixed it without asking me but hey...when you don't have heat...it's nice that he just got the job done! I would recommend Skip any time! Overall: Good, reliable service, but not always available 24 hours We got home on a Saturday evening at 18:00 and the house was cold - 52F. We thought what had gone wrong, our heat settings are never that low. So, we checked the furnace, followed the instructions to try and get it up and running again. However, it didn't work - the next recommendation was to call out a technician - it was now 20:00. We guessed it was the pilot light and tried this place because they were in Issaquah, it's open 24 hours and there was a good review on Yelp. However, no one picked up the phone - 24 hours to me means 24 hours! I was annoyed and cold. We tried a few other places, but still no one managed to come out. After a cold night under about 10 duvets, we tried them again. We were told there would be a technician out with us in around 1.5 hours. In about 1 hour 35 minutes "Skip" arrives (initially calling us because he couldn't find our house). His work was not estimated to begin with and took one hour to complete. One of the pipes and attachment had corroded away and he tried to free the pipe by poking a wire down it - he broke the other side!!! It was the pilot light and he managed to fix it at a cost of $163.35 including tax (exceptionally reasonable). We'd highly recommend these people, they were polite, reliable, the service was good and reasonable in price. read more

2020 Christmas Long weekend for us, we realized saturday night that the furnace isn't heating anymore. Called a few places in the morning including Furnace Aid. Jordan called back within a couple of hours on Sunday, that was a nice surprise for me as I wasn't expecting any call backs from anyone as it is the long weekend. The best part is the service is not labeled "emergency" service even though it was done without any prior appointment. Jordan quickly figured out the problem (it was a part replacement). The next day he came back with the new part to finish the job. To top it all, he threw in a quick checkup of our fireplace and started it on request, as we have not used it in a few years.
