I'd originally come to check out the purple mattresses but I didn't love them. She navigated me through their other luxury mattresses to find one perfect for me. I have never purchased a luxury mattress before so I wasn't even sure how to describe what I was looking for. Mel got me a great deal and the delivery was free and seamless. Purchase a chaise sofa in Sept and it was delivered early in October. Just after the delivery people left, I noted a 2 foot long possible cut in the cushion fabric - not deep enough to see the stuffing, but an obvious issue. I contacted R&F and sent in photos as requested. A service person arrive at my home a few weeks later but had been given incorrect information - could not fix the issue. It is now almost the end of December and I am unable to reach anyone to obtain a resolution. Numerous calls have been made and I have been told everything from "the replacement is not ready yet" to "your case was closed". Absolutely awful! Do not purchase anything from here. Purchased an "in stock" sectional told 1-2 weeks for it to arrive in store. We opted for pick up. The thing has been arriving in pieces over the course 7 weeks and only after having to call and have words with the manager multiples times. Most recent piece arrived yesterday. It has a hole in it, the wood is splintered and sticking out!!! Called no one available to talk.. shocker.. waiting on a call back. I will never do business here and will never recommend. The sales and purchase experience were excellent. Unfortunately even after a text and an email confirmation delivery was postponed a week for a mattress. Would have went the 50 minutes back to the store to pick it up only to be told it is not even in this state. Have been a customer for years and I'm disappointed in not only the breakdown of systems and communication but the inconsideration towards the consumer after purchase. Be proactive if you purchase from them calling a day before to make sure product is available. Only reason Im giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because furnitures quality is really good and the receptionist lady was very nice. Other than that, what are you guys doing? Was expecting delivery today of my bedroom furniture after ordering on 5/15 and being told it would arrive the first week in June. Received a call on Thursday 7/15 confirming my delivery for today and received a text and email Friday 7/16 with my delivery window. Then Taft called at 9am saying delivery was canceled, no explanation why. Can't get my furniture for two more weeks, so guess I will keep living out of suit cases. Super disappointed and likely won't return when we purchase living room furniture and office furniture in the future. While they did apologize and said they will refund my delivery/setup fee, an explanation for the last minute canceling would have been appreciated, especially after spending over $8,000. Got my furniture delivered today and they put a hole in the wall of my brand new house, NEVER will go back to Taft again. Not to mention every piece of furniture has damage. read more

LOCATION: It's the furniture store on Central Ave with lotsa-lotsa of parking out front, approximately 780 FEET OF BARE PAVEMENT from the Central Ave to the front of the building. NO JOKE!! Locally, it was a great place to learn how to drive, especially learning to drive a stick because the lot was flat, empty near the road and had no conflicting vehicles. Even my local driver's ed class used it to practice winter driving maneuvers. "So, wanna go driving? Sure, Taft Furniture parking lot!!!" That's the first place that comes to mind. This huge parking lot was also used as a major shuttle lot to the nearby Extreme Makeover house in 2007. Presently, guide posts with chains are installed, probably for safety reasons to discourage speeding and unsafe driving in the lot. The huge lot gets very little use most of the time, so why not develop it into something interesting? read more

Bought a junk box spring from them after the salesman swore by it!Had to work on it until I could buy a new one.Bought a whole new bed from them and the salesman said they would take the old box spring away but they wouldn't. Had the bed for about 2 weeks and it sunk in the middle. Opened it up and the center support was crooked,they forgot 2 boards!There was supposed to be 5 boards and they only used 3!Had to go buy the boards and fix the center support myself. Was " great " for pets. The salesman basically lied and sold us the warranty , which was expensive because they fix all parts, including up to "4 times " for pet damage. We said no but was bombarded and drilled to reconsider. Finally we gave in and bought the expensive warranty. We had it less than 4 months before the arm and pillow ripped. They took about a month to fix. We mentioned nothing about pet damage because this wasn't. About 9 months after we bought it, the couch got ripped again all over from pet. 4 of 5 cushions ripped at seems and other place. Huge rip on base from god knows what. The quality is horrible I just want to say. I submitted another order to fix with pics. A month later, I heard nothing so I called. Apparently they never received my pics and we only had 30 days or would be denied. Think god I called cuz the 30 days were almost up. The lady from montage was unprofessional rude and blamed everything on me. I got the pics to them again . A week later I get an enrollment that we were denied. They says they don't cover normal wear and tear/ stitching, etc. only structural or accidental. It was structural??? The whole couch is falling apart less than 9 months later!!! I filed a complaint about Taft Furniture with the NYS AG office and BBB. I went in a few weeks ago looking at sofas, and noted the price of one I liked. I waited since July 4 was coming so I figured there would be a sale, which there was. I went back in expecting the advertised "20% sale" to make the price I saw 20% less. The couch was the same price, just with a tag that now had a flag on it. I asked why, and the salesman said that was the sale, and I said it is the same price as before the sale, so that's not a sale. See, they have a "List" price, and this is 20% off that price, but that was the price before the sale.. so this seemed like a fake sale. I went home, took a screenshot of the price. Then, went back in the Google Cache and found it from June 5, same price. I called, and some guy in Marketing called me back. I told him I think this is deceptive marketing, since I believe the price is always what it currently is, so you can't say it's a sale price when it's always the price. Of course, he disagreed trying to explain some shell game of prices, and I kept saying "if it's not really sold for that price, it's not the price" for what he kept saying the price is... which is really the "List" price they don't sell at. I told him of the My Pillow lawsuit, where he used to say "buy one get one free" so much that he was sued for deceptive advertising. The "buy one get one" went on for so long it showed that the price was really for 2, not 1 where you'd get one free. As in, his "sale" for 2 was fraudulent. This, I believe, is the same. The guy finally said he'd send me an email with something so I could go get what I was lead by his advertising to get.. 20% off the price. I never got it. I gave a follow-up call, no return. I emailed, no return. So, I filed a report for the NYS AG about this advertising practice. And, I filed with the BBB for both that, and the fact they said they would do something, and have not. Unfortunately, for them, I record all my phone calls (one-person consent state). Not sure if they think I'll go away. But, I won't. But, people should also beware that when they are saying they are having a sale, they in fact may not be lowering their prices during the sale from any other time. It's deceptive. As of right now, their website shows the same price for the sofa as it did during the fake "Independence Day Sale", which is the same as before that sale. These images aren't of the one I was looking at. Just an illustration of the misleading advertising. One is a screenshot of THEIR AD, leading you to believe that sofa is not usually $499. The other is a screenshot of their website RIGHT NOW, with that same price. Why? Because it's probably always the price. Their advertised sales aren't always really sales. BE AWARE that if you are going in for a "sale" price, it may not actually be one at all. And BEWARE that when you complain to the BBB and AG office and take your experience online, they will make ad hominem attacks on you. Don't feel pressured or fall for any possibly misleading ads by Taft. JUSTIN CRESSWELL, at al, do not like that people tell their honest account of what happens online. He does not like that consumers or individuals break no laws by recording phone calls (legal in NY). They like to complain someone is not acting in good faith, when they did not (Justin Cresswell) follow through on what he said he would do. If it were possible to give 0 stars, I would have. I was in the Saratoga showroom in mid-March and asked to only be shown couches that would be available to be delivered by May 8 when I had a function at my home. I called the store the next day to finalize my order and left a message for the salesperson. After 48 hours when he hadn't called back and my other phone calls hadn't be returned, I ordered on the website. I followed up with another phone call the next day confirming my order and confirming it would arrive prior to May 8. On April 1, I was promised delivery the following week, on April 9th. Then, the true nightmare began (or so I thought) I called weekly and each time I called the delivery date was pushed further out. I understand that Covid has caused significant issues in the supply chain, however I NEVER should have been promised May when it clearly wasn't possible. Today (July 20...72 days after the couch was promised to be delivered) was FINALLY the day when the couch was to be delivered. I requested an afternoon delivery due to morning appointments. They told me my window was between 10:30-1:30 (the morning being an inconvenience, but not an impossibility). The delivery men arrived at 11:10, were polite, efficient, and respectful. I opted to not pay for "assembly" because I am capable of removing cardboard and plastic and pushing the pieces of my couch together. When I began to unwrap the couch, I noticed splintered wood sticking out of one of the ends of the couch. On further inspection, I noticed that the entire wooden frame of the couch was broken. Some parts had broken through the fabric, and some are broken underneath the fabric. I immediately called taft and sent pictures and a video to show the damage. After many back and forth emails, and Taft being unable to open the file types (jpegs, pdfs, and .movs--pretty standard). I finally received a call from a manager who told me they could get me a replacement *hopefully* by mid-September. I said no thank you and told her that they needed to come take the couch away today and refund my money immediately. They are coming today, but it will be 10-14 days until I get my refund. Absolutely unacceptable, I will never shop at Taft again and will ensure that none of my loved ones do either. read more

We bought a sofa and a love seat here and they looked good for MAYBE a year, then fell apart. We don't have dogs on the furniture. We do have a kid, but the kid was an actual baby and too little to even be on the furniture to ruin it, so two normal/calm adults are somehow able to destroy two pieces of furniture with zero effort. Sounds legit. We bought the service plan (I know, I know), and it is such a complete pain in the ass to use. It's "not Taft" because they outsource the service plan to a third party. But, sorry, it's still Taft's fault. As a company, they are responsible for the choices they make. It just means it's that much harder to get an answer to any question you may have. Also, about this service plan... there's less documentation required for surgery on a human than there is required for fixing the MANY problems we have had with the sofa and love seat we bought. And - here's the best part - they can't even fix the furniture. They offered a credit in the store or a buy out. When the love seat broke, we took the buyout. With the sofa, we tried looking for a replacement. We actually found a complete set (sofa and love seat) that we wanted that was on clearance and so fit our credit for the sofa. Guess what, though? Even though we have a credit, we can only use it on ONE item. What the eff does it matter? So, back to a buy out for the second item. So, basically: the quality at Taft is horrible. If you buy something there, it won't last. If you buy the service plan, you'll go through hoops and still have junk in your house. And, the selection - despite being expansive - is redundant and not great aesthetically. I have no idea where I will go to buy furniture next because this experience has been awful and I am over it. read more

This is a two part review. I'll start with the salesmen. For the life of me I cannot recall his name. Maybe by the end of this review I will. He had just started at Taft when we walked in. I believe he was there one week. What a nice experience doing business with him. He was knowledgeable and if he didn't know he made sure to ask someone. He had a great personality for sales but was not in any way pushy. We enjoyed doing business with him. His name might be Dan. Now on to customer service behind the counter where you pay! AWFUL!!! This is why the one star (I would have given zero if I could). We needed a metal piece for the bed frame to sit on the headboard. Brought in what we were looking for because we were told by the location in Saratoga that Albany would have it. There were three people at the time behind the customer service counter. An older gentleman, a heavyset, younger girl and a skinny, younger, black man. We get the younger male. Right from the start he had an awful attitude! He clearly didn't want to do his job. He insisted I needed an order number when the part I was looking for was not from an order that we had just purchased with Taft furniture. I tried explaining that and he just would not listen. I asked him nicely to please get the person he was speaking to on the phone (who was in the next room) and ask her to come to the customer service desk. He took the metal piece that I needed to order and slammed it on the counter as hard as he could. I picked it up and slammed it right back. We waited a good bit of time for the person he was speaking to to come out and talk to us. When she did we knew that we weren't going to get anywhere and she was just going to yes us to death. Surprisingly for a furniture company who puts these beds together on a daily basis, she had no idea what the piece was called and they didn't have any in stock. We were told she would have to order one and it would take weeks to get to us. It's been weeks, it's been over a month and we never received a phone call saying the part was in. We don't believe for one minute that she ordered it. That's OK though, I ordered one on Amazon and had it the next day. Because of the interaction we had with her and the other guy we will no longer be going to Taft Furniture. He is very lucky I allowed him to keep his job and didn't pursue the issue with the owners. His behavior warranted being fired. We actually walked out the door that day and went to Old Brick and bought an entire living room set. Taft Furniture has lost our business and I will tell anyone that is looking for furniture to go to Old Brick. I'll be reviewing Old Brick - go check it out. UPDATE - THE REPLY BY TAFT IS TOTAL BS. BACK TRACKING AND BASICALLY CALLING YOUR CUSTOMER A LIAR IS NOT A GOOD LOOK FOR ANY COMPANY. THE PART NEVER CAME IN NOR WAS IT EVER ORDERED. IF IT WAS ORDERED THEY FORGOT TO CALL US. I bought a couch. I love it. A year and a half later one of the cushion's zipper blew out. It was out of warranty and thought I'd just have to live with it. I went to Taft to look around and mentioned it to the sales clerk and she made sure I got a call the following Monday. They ordered me a new cover for my couch cushion no charge! I was so happy that I went back and bought a kitchen set. It's so nice and was discounted for President's day! Very nice quality. The table even has a leaf. I'm going to look for a bedroom set now. I recently purchased a couch from this outlet. The couch was beautiful and the salesman helping me was extremely nice. Once the couch was ordered, I removed my old couch from my apartment and scheduled the delivery of the new couch. Delivery day arrives and the two men delivering the couch were two of the most inexperienced movers I've ever encountered. They did not know how to get the couch up the stairs and around the corner. One unscrewed my overhead light and even went so far as to suggest I remove a bookcase (which is bolted to the wall). The couch should have been an easy fit for the apartment. After about ten minutes, a mover started removing cushions they had brought in (all unwrapped, thrown into my apartment). I asked what he was doing and all they said was "we're marking it a 'no-fit' and someone will call you." That was it. The movers left and as soon as I was able, I went to the store to express my frustration and request a full refund. The same salesman who helped me buy the couch was there and showed me the delivery report. The two movers lied about how long they were at my apartment (12 whole minutes) and that they made multiple attempts to get the couch in the apartment. The manager came over to help me and said a refund would be issued, but in the meantime I could pick out another couch. I stuck to wanting my refund and after processing my payment information through the help desk and not relying just on the word of the manager, every dollar was returned to me. The service was fantastic at the store. The movers were completely inexperienced and rude. There was absolutely no reason the couch couldn't fit other than their lack of effort and laziness. A great experience from start to finish! We've purchased a couple of dining sets from them in the past and had a similarly positive experience. Sales/Purchase: Tom helped direct us in the showroom, gave us his card, and let us browse. What a great approach in a usually high pressure sales experience! He was right there when we needed him and quickly answered questions and completed our order. Scheduling delivery was quick and easy. Delivery: Gary and Nick were amazingly helpful, professional and efficient. They helped move one piece from the house to the garage and quickly delivered, assembled and set up the four pieces of living room furniture we purchased. They were careful and everything arrived safely and in perfect shape. They delivered a bedroom set to my sister earlier in the day and she had a similar positive experience with this delivery crew. This review is for the mattress/bedframe experience. This is a pretty big store and a wide selection of bedframes from all sizes and themes. Adults and kid bedframes. If you have a budget there are bedframes for just a little over $100, which are also good looking. There is of course a good selection of mattresses to choose from. The pick up window seems a bit disorganized imo. It took them a while to find our order when we were there to pick up the bedframe. Putting together the frame is fairly simple. Just a couple hex keys and phillips head screws. Also if you decide for their service and delivery instead of picking up they charge around $100 and a wait time of 7 days for delivery which they also put together the product as part of the service. read more

My fiance' and I were in desperate need of a new couch (really just her but since I am now engaged I just go w whatever she says). We checked out a couple other local places and we weren't really impressed with what we saw. We took a trip over to Taft since my good buddy got some nice stuff there and it was an extremely easy process. Tom Sanders helped us out and it was an extremely good experience. No pressure to buy or forcing sales down our throats just a simple "Here's my card if you need me just let me know!". Working in sales I really appreciate salesmen that let you do your own thing and don't put a ton of pressure on you. We found a perfect set for our living room all for under a grand in the clearance section! We'll be back when it's time for a bed. read more

Bought a bed room set which included the bed panel and headboard, a night stand and a chest over three weeks ago in anticipation to move. Put $200 down, financed the rest. Worked around THERE schedule to have it delivered and took time off of work to arrange to be there. Paid $70 for them to assemble the bed and bring my furniture in. Today comes, delivery men come and state they have the chest and the dresser, no bed. The two men that delivered my piece were very rude, had no information for me and simply told me they could take it back and do nothing for me today. Stating "you can call them and ask about the backorder but you'll probably just get an answer machine." Um excuse me. My mind was blown. Nobody notified me that the bed was on backorder, or would not be coming. I wouldve never paid $70 to get a small dresser and night stand delivered. I'm 5'3 and 130lb, I could've EASILY carried that in myself. Thanks for nothing. Called multiple times assured to get a call from the manager or from the women who sold me the pieces and still nothing. Arrogance is not tolerated. And common curtesy to give me a call would've been appreciated. Update; I did receive my bed set within the same day, from two different gentlemen who set up my bed. They were much more responsive with information and did a great job. Joann did refund me back the $70 fee I paid to get things set up in the first place. Purchased a sectional from here a year ago. It is beyond busted. My husband and I took it apart, it was clearly that the factory did not put this couch together correctly. There's a weird doctored piece to make it fit the frame and that is riddled with nails. Complained here. Nothing they can do. Our sectional is broken, arm rest and love seat side sags over 6 inch below the rest of the couch. Taft to do you not QA the factory elements you get in? I'm stuck with a broken shit couch, which could hurt a child and there is nothing you can do. DONT BUY FROM HERE. To Joanne below, this is a sectional. We did not "take it apart". Taft is the worse place to get furniture. They deliver the wrong item 3 times over 9months . From Nov 2030-aug. 2021.The salesmen write up multiple orders for commission. They want payments before you even get your items. And just when all is said and done They double charge you. And now I'm fighting that. Good luck finding someone to help fix it. I understood it was covid times but it's a never ending fight... I'll never deal with Taft Furniture again and will stop anyone I know looking for Furniture to go somewhere else. I would give this 0 stars but I couldn't. We ordered a sectional couch through the Colonie store over 5 weeks ago and we were told it would be delivered within 2-3 weeks. Our salesperson Shawn F. definitely lied about that because delivery is telling us that is not even a typical time frame yet Shawn told us that time frame to make a deal knowing we needed this couch by a certain date and he told us it would be delivered in time. We also had to pay for a percentage of the purchase and we are still being dismissed when asked about time frame of when we will receive our new sectional. They have not contacted us and when we call we are told it is not there and delivery can not tell us when the shipment will be in or tell us any tracking on the shipment. I would not recommend buying through them if you would like your purchase within a normal, reasonable time frame. Update: I was contacted quickly to resolve the issue. We had our previous experience looking for kitchen dinette furniture, with no luck since we were looking for a particular style. Still, when in the market for a sofa sleeper, we decided to try Taft out again. It paid off. We found a queen sofa sleeper in the style we were looking for for several hundred dollars less than nearby (and not so nearby) competitors. Depending on your experience, this is a fine example on giving an establishment a second try. Four stars this time around for selection of sleeper sofas, price, financing options, and plenty of staff that doesn't hound you all over the store. read more

I've bought two beds from here so far, and unless the pick up for the mattress goes wrong or I've picked the wrong bed I've loved both of my experiences. I know other people have commented on the fact they give you a business card and let you shop as a negative I really like it. I don't need somebody watching me awkwardly figuring out what mattress feels right (ugh I hateeeee mattress shopping). I also really liked the prices of at least the mattresses they seem to be on par from what I've seen at other places plus there's a much bigger selection and if you are picking up there's a good chance it's in the warehouse so it'll be easy. read more

Wish I could give zero stars..This is by far my most disrespectful and worst experience EVER.Firstly,Tafts employees dropped off furniture that was ripped.we paid over $1300 for this furniture of which when I called they wanted to send someone to patch them.As if I paid for patches or something.Then that same day,I realized there were no holes for the legs to go in..took me four hours of calling to try to get THAT resolved.So the next day they try to swap out the bad with the good.Except they forgot to bring the couch with the leg holes...They requested I'd wait two more weeks to get a technician to come out to make holes cus he was on vacation.I said no thank you.had them take their furniture back.As they're taking the furniture back I get attitude,holes in my walls,scratched walls and a broken window.The one guy who delivered blatantly spoke out of character and swore in front of my kids and said he couldn't wait to get out of "This Mans" house.Now I called about the window but have yet to receive a phone call as to when they're gonna fix my window.And dont get me started on the refund...Cus I'll be waiting another 5 business days till I get that back.10 days in total.Never AGAIN will i deal with this place. read more

I had a great experience here. After making several visits to all the furniture stores in the area (SEVERAL) I ended up purchasing a couch at TAFT. They had a great variety but not overwhelming and the service from the sales team was excellent. Each visit I was given a business card when first entering the store, but left alone to wander and search. Many places, I was attacked by vultures upon arrival and not given one minute of time to think on my own. At Raymour and Flanigan I had a salesman continue to talk/ask me questions while I was on the phone, then he would NOT let me leave the store. My salesman at TAFT actually called me the following day to give me some more info on the couch I was interested in. TAFT made the buying process comfortable and they were able to deliver in ender a week. The delivery guys were at my place for all of 15 minutes and were on time. Overall experience was A+. Ask for Lenny, helpful and funny with a great attitude. read more

Don't shop here if you're using progressive leasing. I went in for a mattress and recliner, both of which were marked as 299.99. When I produced the paperwork from progressive, my sales guy disappeared for 10 minutes and when he returned he told me the pricing changed and the 2 items were now almost 100.00 more than how they were marked. He lost the sale. I was later informed this is an illegal business practice in the form of price gouging, and reported them to the AG and the BBB. read more

Actually he was inside my home twice. The forst time he came to put in longer screws after i told him on the phone before he came i wasnt going to be home long he should come later in the afternoon. He got through about 2 chairs before suprise, i had to leave. The second time he came he said whoever put them together stripped the part where the screws go and would have the compant send me 8 new chairs. Well after having the new chairs for about 2 weeks 4 screws have fallen out. This is very cheap and needs to be rectified asap read more
