I had a friend that got a Great Dane from them, paid over 1800 for the dog only to find out that she was sick and needed vet help, (went back to fury, only to get "I can't do anything but offer half of ur money back and take the dog back" basically saying fuck off this isn't my problem anymore) my friend ended up having to give it up to people that knew how to take care of it's sickness. We usually visit this place whenever we are at the mall just to look at dogs but yesterday was different. We actually came home with a new family member. The staff were all nice, emy assisted us and answered all our questions. They will also look for a specific breed that you want. In our case, we got a mini daschund. I bought a puppy from the Lombard location before the holidays started. We fell in love with her, we decided to finance. There's a 400 loan initiation fee. Which they tell you it's a down payment. Loan had a 29% rate. So I was going to end up paying more than 7000. The puppy was sick. And same thing happened to another puppy the family got from there. But in their case the puppy had to be euthanized. He was sold to them at 3 weeks old. He had parvovirus. DO NOT BUY PUPPIES FROM THIS PLACE. read more

I would give negative reviews if I can. Bought a pug puppy here in December 2013 and by spring she had hip dysplasia. After surgery now it's summer and she is having seizures and she can't walk without wobbling or falling and we just spent another $1200 on vet bills. She has neurological issues and according to the vet she may or may not have long-term issues. Please, please do your research before buying your puppy at a place that sells puppies from puppy mills. Unfortunately when we bought our puppy I didn't do my research. This company should be ashamed of themselves for selling sick puppies with issues and reaping the financial benefits! My friends recently purchased the cutest newfoundland puppy at this location. Everything was fine the worker reassured them that she had NO genetic diseases or underlying health conditions. They took to the vet within 24 hours of purchase to find out she has wobblers disease. You would think that paying as much as you do for these puppies they would be in the best health. DO NOT BUY PUPPIES FROM HERE!!! We brought home are third dog, second Boston Terrier... We have always had dogs and are quite familiar with pet care... Long story short, our baby had giardia... was treated twice and STILL HAD IT. The Vet and Furry Babies tried to blame us saying the dog was eating his poop or stepping in it and licking his paws. However, we clean the yard daily and watch him outside. In addition we wipe his paws each time he comes in. After the two treatments they refused to pay for any additional testing and then tried to tell us that ALL DOGS have it. Really?? NOT TRUE because neither of my puppies had it nor do they now. Furry Babies at Louis Joliet Mall as well as the animal hospital that they "require" you to go to, is unfortunately unacceptable in their tactics to nickle and dime a customer, the left hand has no clue what the right hand is doing. My suggestion... pass by this horrific smelling manipulating puppy store, please. There are allot of reputable breeders & unfortunately because of the puppies cuteness we fell into their money trap. Promise one thing and don't deliver! Never again and I am passing this on, cause I can. Do your research and look else where. Trust me just because they throw in little clothes and bows and act like they care what kind of home the puppy is going to ... just means they have gouged you in the puppy dept. They don't stand behind you they actually circle and mark that contract up with all these highlighted paragraphs & THAT should be the first BUYER BEWARE. Once we purchased the puppy and took it to the vet "their vet " with whom required 4 shots that furry babies SAID they had no knowledge of, we were required to pay for those BEFORE we could have the "supposedly included spaying," which of course they were, ummmm , oblivious, so they acted anyway as to ... what their own animal hospital was requiring I mean really - plain ignorance, Isn't that kinda like a bate and switch? The answer is yes. It's ridiculous. We ended up deciding to take the puppy to our on local vet. This place, the owner and manager, really disgust me with their tactics ~ we stopped payment, fortunately, we have perfect credit so, we won't let these untrustworthy people damage that, but I will say ~ the word is spreading... how we were dooped, it appears there are ALLOT of others out there too who've been lied to and manipulated - while this owner just rakes in the cash, has employees do the talking, cause the owner is one of those "behind the scenes " SHOPPER REALLY BEWARE of a company that highlights, circles, underlines three times certain words, asterix* contracts. ITS SUPPOSED TO BE 0 STARS. They have the dogs on a schedule for water where they can't have a certain amount. Some of the dogs don't get water. There is two dogs in a small crib. Big dogs need more space then that. The staff didn't care that one of the dogs didn't get any water. They gave us short responses and didn't give the dogs more water. They didn't want them to pee so they didn't give them water. The two dogs share food and water so they can't get the actual amount of food and water they need. They are in their cribs all day and can't get any exercise. Cribs are not made for puppies. They need more time to play. The dogs deserve to be in good homes and the place should be shit down. I don't support puppy mills. Dogs should be treated better than this!! read more

Real sad place to visit. I find it creepy that they have puppies in baby cribs and staff members wearing scrubs. The puppy's are dressed in bows and look suspiciously sedate. I did not see any food or water in the cribs with them, but that is just what I saw...Getting an actual price without first listening to their 10 min sales pitch and packet of paperwork was hard to get. Adoption should always be anyone's first choice if at all possible there is no question about that. However, if you do decide to get a dog from a breeder, check to make sure they are reputable. Make sure they are not over breeding. They should be akc certified and there to answer any ?'s you have. You should also take the trip to the breeder and if possible, look at the mother, make sure the dogs are well cared for. Don't leave it up to some rando pet store owner to make that choice for you. Remember, dogs shouldn't be presents or a commodity, sadly, they are. Do the right thing by them and do extensive research before getting any dog. One part of research would be past reviews. This company seems to not have the best track record with its former clients. I will just keep getting the run around at shelters or research a good Midwest breeder with years experience but this place will never get my business. read more

Five years ago my girlfriend (now wife) saw this gorgeous white Huskimo (Husky/Eskimo) one blue eye one brown eye, melted her heart. Me being the reasonable man I am (a cat person) I said no to her. Three days had passed and I couldn't get his beautiful face out of my mind either. After talking with my wife about the decision to get a new family member we headed back to Joliet. Thankfully he was still there! The awesome team at your store set us up in the play room and allowed us to play for some time before asking us if we had any questions, asking us if we wanted to know the information about the little guy, telling us breed information on him. After going well over the contract telling us everything we needed/wanted to know asking if we had questions or need repeating of anything all the information that the manager, cheryl, had given us made the decision just that much easier. I appreciated all of their time and how thorough they were. Fast forward to today, two daughters later, our Prince is still just as charming! We couldnt have asked for a better experience and love our Huskimo to pieces. Thanks for turning this cat guy into a dog guy. read more

I have purchased two puppies from Furry Babies; a Chow Chow and a Shiba Inu. During my visits to this location, the staff at furry babies has always been very attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and caring. Their one year free vet care was very useful as it gave me peace of mind knowing that they already had a vet, and had already received their vaccines. It was also great getting free check ups to make sure that my two pups were in great health. I also get unlimited mail trims which is phenomenal. I'm a local to the Joliet area so I occasionally visit to play with the puppies and I have never had an issue. Overall I've always had a really pleasant experience here, and I enjoy the fact that the puppies are in an open area, and not enclosed like in other pet stores. Their puppies always look to be in great health, and they take precautions to make ensure the health and safety of their puppies. If you're ever looking for a puppy, I highly recommended checking this place out. The prices may be a little higher, but it's worth it. You can't put a price on all of the love and happiness that your pets can give you! read more
