When Jen was personally taking care of my cats herself in the beginning days of first hiring her,…read morethings were great and my original 5-star review applied. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. At some point over the years, as the business grew, she started sending other pet sitters she hired to do the job I mistakenly assumed she was still doing. I realized there were always other sitters but initially she was the one caring for my cats who are now deceased. When we adopted 3 new ones almost 7 years ago, I had her come over to meet them so they would be somewhat familiar with her when she came back to pet sit. I don't know if she ever came back herself after that or if it was a different person who did the pet sitting from that point on. She should have told me then that there would be a different sitter going forward. Communication has become less effective, instructions not followed properly, and during the most recent hiring of their services, the water bowls were not cleaned or changed out in 9 days. They had been refilled with more water so they never ran out (I assume), but the bowls were slimy on the bottom with scum, and the water dirty with cat hair, litter, food, and other debris that inevitably collects in a water bowl. The instructions I'd left specifically mentioned changing out the water bowls for cleaning, which should be a no-brainer if your job is caring for pets. Furthermore, whoever my assigned sitter was for this job, lied on her status update on the final day and wrote, "....put down new bowls of water for them." If a pet sitter can't do something as simple as giving your cats fresh bowls of water and lies about it, what else did they lie about? This last experience, along with the owner's cavalier response, has resulted in the termination of a professional relationship of more than a decade, which is also upsetting. A different response with an offered solution may have salvaged the broken trust and relationship, but I guess she no longer needs or cares about my business.

I have a lot of pets and I was a little anxious to see if she could take on caring for all of them while I went away and she was so pleasant and eager to offer her services. I always receive detailed nice updates from her after each visit along with pictures which always puts my mind at ease. I would highly recommend her services. She's the best at what she does.

Robin has been walking my dogs for several years. She absolutely loves animals, and treats my dogs…read moreas if they are her own. When I had to euthanize one of my dogs in March of this year, Robin cried when she heard the sad news. On one occasion, my smoke alarms were going off for no apparent reason. She went beyond the call of duty to assist with dealing with the problem while I was out of town. Robin is extremely reliable and trustworthy. I was lucky to find her. My dogs were lucky too.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! My dog was starved from Friday night until we returned Sunday night…read more We used her services twice before and fully completed the information sheet when she came out to meet our dog prior to the first visit. I also leave instructions with mobile numbers on the countertop. I booked her services last weekend overnight and all this weekend. We returned and all of the dog food and meds were still in the frig. When I called her, she said I was supposed to call her back to confirm this weekend. And she called my HOUSE PHONE and left a message Friday. WHAT?! How on earth can you run a business with animals so carelessly?! Not only did she not document this weekend in her 'calendar', she didn't think to call at least the day before AND / OR call my cell?! Inexcusable. We have only ever used pet sitters, and I have NEVER had anyone this unprofessional. Of course, it was her birthday weekend. Maybe she couldn't be bothered.

My wife, and I hired FLD from Wed Nov 13th in the evening, to Friday evening to provide 6 60-minute visits for our 2 dogs. We have strict rules for our pets that were quite clearly illustrated, most notably that our dogs are to stay in our large kitchen area when nobody is home so that they don't get into things around the house. When we arrived home we had found: 1.) Main door unlocked. 2.) Kitchen door (sunroom connects the main door, and kitchen area) ajar. 3.) The gate in the kitchen wide open, and our critters running around the house. Over the course of the day they had knocked over electronics, candles, and made a mess (#1 & #2) in our piano room. After a 3+ hour drive back from Washington DC, it was not a great look for us to have to Bona 3 rooms because of an error on our sitters part. I wish I could say that that was our only complaint, on a whim we decided to check the logs for our security system to see when our sitter had last been there, and we were shocked to learn: 1.) Out of 6 60-minute visits, he only came 4 times. 2.) Not a single visit lasted an hour, one lasted 45 minutes, and the remaining 3 averaged 30 minutes. This is absolutely unacceptable. I hope that nobody else will ever have to come home to a completely unsecured home after hiring this company. It's blatantly irresponsible, and there needs to be a better system for vetting sitters, and their actions while in a persons home. For our trouble were were refunded $99 out of $168. I believe that we deserve a full refund, not a single service that we hired this company for was properly rendered. This is not acceptable.
