Walked over for lunch while on Jury Duty and the poke bowl did not disappoint. I ordered the frozen tuna protein with various sauces and toppings. Service was helpful, nice, and quick! The restaurant itself was very clean with a nice self-serve station for utensils, water, and soy sauce, making it easy and comfortable to have a quick solo lunch. I would say the poke is on the pricier side, but it's nice you get to choose as many sauces and toppings you want versus needing to pay for add ons. Pick sauce wisely my last time I forgot it's saucy so the bottom got a little salty for my taste, but my fault for choosing something that's a soy sauce like base. My father comes here a lot. Since this is the place that he likes, I decided to go there again for some lunch. But again, due to his age and dementia, his taste buds are gone and cannot be trusted. We always get some ramen here, even though we can get poke also. The last time it was decent. Personally, the portion of the noodles and the broth, to the toppings is off in my opinion. The presentation and the visual of the bowl is off. I don't go, "wow" with excitement when I see this strangely put together ramen. The bowl should be much bigger to have a better visual balance. The bowl is too small to cram in all the noodles with little broth. Also the topping crowds the bowl so much so that there is not enough room to separate or mix the noodles without spilling the contents. Personally, dining is more than just stuffing your face. The dining experience includes sight, smell, taste, texture, timing, serving temperature. The visual was definitely off today. I ordered shoyu ramen with chashu (braised port belly). The chashu was way too thick it was hard to eat. I do appreciate a large slab of the pork - 3 pieces, but I am not accustomed to having 1/4 inch thick chashu. My teenage som will probably appreciate the thick, not so delicate pork. He is all about large portions. Also, they were crisp on the outside all around. It is different than what I am used to - that is melt-in-your-mouth soft texture or thin enough to cut through with chop sticks. Anyways, odd portion combination of bowl size, yellow noodles, broth and toppings. The taste - it was bit disappointing for a $18 bowl of ramen. The broth for a shoyu ramen, I believe, should be clear soy based tare, good mix of fat, and the soup stock. Every ramen joint has their signature soup stock that they make from scratch. I am now sure how they make their stock but it was rather bland. The serving temperature was off too. It was just warm and not piping hot, as a bowl of ramen should be. Maybe I have all of these gripes because I just spent two weeks back in my home country and tasted the ramen that I grew up with, and other regional specials in Nagasaki. I just returned and perhaps my brain is predisposition to like the "real thing" not a good approximation. Nevertheless, this place is one of better choices around for ramen, despite some flaws. So we will return. Sigh, maybe this is what I have to settle for the "best" ramen around Sarasota. Sarasota is up and coming but not quite NYC, SF or LA, yet, where you will find plenty of great ramen. read more

This poke is absolutely delicious and I really enjoyed taking it to go and eating it at the beach. The restaurant itself is cute and nice to eat at. Service was fast and the servers were friendly. However, I didn't realize how expensive it was when ordering and accidentally made what came out to be a $30 bowl, which I think is just way too expensive for a poke bowl. My bowl was just white rice, 1/2 tuna and 1/2 salmon, avocado, furikake, spicy mayo sauce x2, and masago (but they were basically out and he gave me only maybe 1/3 of a scoop). My husbands was like $15, so basically half the price of mine! I've gotten this same order at probably 15 other poke places across the U.S. in my life (including CA) and never had it come out to more than $16, so this was pretty shocking and I really have to take two stars off for the crazy pricing because it would definitely deter me from coming back. read more

After having been to Hawaii and having the best poke of your life .... This wasn't far off. The staff are super friendly and helpful in recommending what to get on your bowl... Great option for ramen can be found at Fushipoke. This place looks small from the front entrance, but keep walking to the very back and you will find a nice lounge area with couch and table and games! The best area for comfy and warmth. These are the kinds of places we are always looking for. Fushipoke serves poke. They also have bowl options for the non poke, seafood people which can be chicken, pork, or tofu. They also have ramen which is exactly what I was looking for. And lastly steam buns. The Tonkotsu ramen with tempura shrimp was perfect for me! Next time, I'll probably have more ramen and try the steam buns. For drinks they have beer, wine, sake, soft drinks, and tea. I want to explore their sake options. This place is right next to Main Street in Sarasota, so if you are in the area, it's a GREAT option!!! It is street parking no fee to park. read more

The boa buns take FOREVER! I eat my entire poke bowl by the time the boa buns come out. It's really unfortunate that they are so slow. When I'm in a rush a can't even consider ordering them. Money lost for them I guess. Also, you CAN NOT ORDER OVER THE PHONE. This is not something they will do. So if you're in the car and want to order boa buns (that take forever) and call. They refuse to take your order and insist it has to be done online. Again, money lost for them. How is this any type of good business model? Losing money left and right. Under that pile of toppings there was both Salmon and Tuna if you'd believe it. Both tasted light and fresh. All the toppings (I freestyled it) where also super tasty. Since I didn't go with a preset bowl and added a few things the bowl was a bit more pricey than I expected but I guess that's my fault for going with my heart. In the end it was worth it. I got the fried shrimp and chicken bao buns. Chicken was good but the shrimp was great. Next time I'll skip the chicken and just go with those. Awesome selection of drinks from soda, to CBD seltzer water, to Japanese/Asian beers which pair perfectly with the seafood. Will be back here for sure and I recommend to anyone looking for a delicious quick bite while walking down Main Street or on the way back home from the beach. read more

As we walked in we were greeted and asked if we had visited before, gave us menus and suggestions. One employee directed us to the back where the kids could play board games. Food, service, and ambiance were all great. The place is so cute and I just love the vibe. The lady at the counter (short hair) possibly a manager? Is so friendly, welcoming, kind, patient, and helpful. The world needs more of her. I always take my time looking over a new menu to decide what I want and she wasn't pushy at all and was eager to offer her assistnce at any point. It really helps soothe my social anxiety. I also love how thoughtful and intentional this place is about their impact on the environment and reducing plastic waste. I love their self-serve bar, everything is just so well-thought out and classy. I love it! The only downside I can think is cost, but I'm sure Sarasota is an expensive area which is a good thing I don't live there. Fushipoke is the poke bar to go to in the Sarasota area. The fish is very fresh, the variety in sides and toppings to put on your poke bowl is fantastic and very diverse. You know there is love and effort put into this place with not only the food, ingredients, and drinks, but also the design of the restaurant, the feeling, the branding, vibe, and service! Everyone who worked there was pretty nice. The diversity and range of drinks you can choose from is so awesome, you can literally go for lunch, or dinner and have a short time or a long one and chat and drink, the only thing that made me give this less than 5 stars was just that things were a little bit pricey, especially for the food not having as much flavor without sauce (which can be a good thing when you just want something super clean to eat) and that the ordering can be a tiny bit confusing with the menu wall, which could probably have a step by step design/order more clearly written out. But otherwise don't let that stop you; the design and writing on the wall is really well done, and of the whole design and attention to detail of the space is beautiful! Whether you are leaving work for lunch, going out on your day off, or you're on vacation, I would definitely recommend anyone to come eat here as they have a great atmosphere, really fresh, clean, and healthy food; as well as a nice variety of snacks, drinks, and ingredients in their ramen and poke bowls.
