Maybe it isn't fair to base a review on take-out alone, but that's what this review is about. One dish, one experience, one take-out. Japanese chicken with straight ramen noodles. I expected homemade noodles and perhaps they were, but I could tell little difference in the quality of the noodles as compared to pre-packaged noodles. One strike. The broth was so salty we couldn't eat the meal that we planned to split. I know when you're working with miso and soy, salt is part of the equation. If you're wanting to avoid salt, or at least have a reasonable amount of salt, this is not your place. The chicken that topped the noodles was flavorful and cooked to perfection. This was my first time eating at Mitaka at the recommendation of my friend who I was with, and who often says it's the best place for ramen in the area. I was not disappointed. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere to it, spacious and decorated with kitschy Japanese posters and figurines. We were told that we could sit anywhere we liked. We started out with an order of dumplings and an order of crispy squid - both tasty and very generous portions. Now for the ramen. I ordered the spicy seafood ramen and asked for the udon noodles as a sub. I was impressed with the depth of the flavor profile of the broth and is one of the best I have ever had. It was also spiced at the perfect level for me. The udon noodles were delicious and perfectly cooked. In order to score full points, I would want to see the following addressed: for a seafood ramen it was a disappointing portion of seafood (basically 2 muscles, 2 shrimp and 2 squid rings); I would prefer it if the egg was more soft than hard boiled; and I was not expecting a $2 surcharge for the udon noodles (when I asked to sub the waitress said ok and did not mention the price increase). Last week, I took my father out for ramen at Mitaka Japanese Ramen House . We both really enjoyed our meal. This was our first visit, so I was excited to check the place out. We walked in and we were greeted immediately and told to sit anywhere. Service was good throughout our visit. We started out with some pork belly steam buns & karaage chicken. For our mains we ordered one bowl of miso ramen and one bowl of spicy miso ramen. Our steam buns and chicken came out quickly. Both items looked good. The pork belly was nicely seasoned and very tender. The karaage chicken had a decent crisp on it and the dipping sauce was one point. Our ramen came out next and looked amazing. The broth had great flavor and texture. The jamy egg was perfect too. We both enjoyed our ramen. Overall, we both really liked our meal. I found Mitaka around Covid times years ago and have been going back since when I want to enjoy my favorite ramen this side of the state of Florida. The other place that makes vegetarian ramen I love is Domu in Orlando & Sabu Ramen at the Joinery food hall in Lakeland, Florida. There are two places in Tampa where I go to for ramen which are nice, Dosunco and Otsuka Ramen but Mitaka by far is my #1 and I gladly make the 65 mile plus round trip drive there when I crave that happy state that good ramen transports me to. I don't know how yet, but they manage to give their vegetarian ramen that umami creaminess that pork bone broth ramen lovers enjoy in Tonkotsu ramen. That is no small feat! I also start with their Tofu Steamed buns and ask for a side of Sriracha and spicy mayo to balance out the sweet hoisin sauce they use in the steamed buns for the crispy tofu. I like that they carry Pokka brand unsweetened oolong black tea as well. Mitaka is worth the trip, worth the detour and it's also nice to know that they're on a main road in Bradenton that leads to the Anna Maria Island beach zone so it's quite a convenient location they're at. Also look into Kefi Streetside Café and Oscura Café for phenomenal food and drink in the area. Mitaka closes on Tuesdays. read more

One of only two authentic Japanese in this whole area. Nice ramen. You can ask for extra miso and they will give you a big scoop for free. Next door is an authentic sushi and bento plate place. Their tempura so the ONLY authentic tempura that I've had in Florida in about : years. The manager is really good, friendly and cares about your experience. read more

Absolutely the best Ramen I've had in Florida. Ordered the Miso Ramen, Gyoza and Pork Belly Buns. The Ramen has delicious Pork Belly in it with Corn and Bean sprouts just like when I lived in Japan.
