Such a cute place!! Finally got to stop in for dinner and was pleasantly surprised with this new place! The decor is really nice and intimate. A great date spot but also family friendly. We were greeted by the hostess and told there was a short wait. There is a nice bar area to sit at or also some really cool couches in the back. We were sat within the 15-20 minute time frame given to us when we walked in. We decided on a pizza and pasta. I got the penne vodka which was pretty solid. The sauce was flavorful and rich but not the best I ever had. I was still happy I tried it. We wanted to try a Roman pizza but they did not have it available that evening. We decided on the starry hope which was really good. It was topped with meatballs, caramelized onions, pesto, ricotta, and mozzarella. Yum! The crust was nice and crunchy- which I love in a pizza crust! Nothing is worse than a floppy pizza! I had a glass of sangria which was pretty good too. The service was good throughout dinner. Waters were filled promptly and we were checked in on appropriately. We will definitely be back soon to try some other pies and hopefully the Roman pizza! If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely HORRIBLE management. I reserved the side room for my daughters baptism weeks in advance. We showed up to find another party in that space and told our reservation was cancelled. when I looked at their book, mine was scribbled out. I never cancelled. The truth their incompetent manager refuses to acknowledge is the other party had more people so they crossed mine out, leaving my guests and I no space. He refused to admit any wrong doing, apologize, or make things right. Instead, thankfully Cosmos was more than accommodating and even said they were sorry we had to go through that on such a special day. Restaurant goers beware, do not make reservations here and expect to actually have a reservation. Instead save yourself the headache and go to cosmos, they have better food and hospitality anyway. read more

Mediocre at best. Yes staff is "NICE" but I mean it's frozen pasta and mediocre pizza dough that may or not be also frozen as it definitely didn't wow anyone. Also being told at 9pm on Sunday that they are closing in 10 minutes didn't help I realize this isn't Manhattan but hospitality is hospitality! We would've spent an extra what 10 min there but were passive aggressively forced to drink our drinks quickly. I'm sure the owner or manager will now comment with some defensive "well actually" response that's become so prevalent on YELP nowadays. I personally enjoyed my meal. I guess my one complaint would be the service and that's why I can't give it a full 4 stars. The waitress kind of took a while and didn't really seem to enthusiastic or knowledgeable about the menu. We all have bad days though or maybe she was new. Anyway, I definitely appreciated the ambiance of this place and my pizza was really good. It was 13 bucks but it was huge, I couldn't even finish it and I always finish my food. I am glad this place is here though. Newburgh needs more establishments like this. I will definitely go back, I just hope the service is a bit better. read more

this is an update original review attached below As I mentioned in my last review the pizzas at the beginning of the week are fantastic VS middle to end of the week. it did not disappoint. Our family in Newburgh that we visit every week belongs to a private covid charity group of about 30 or 40 people. They help out people who have been effected by covid, Monday morning they had their monthly meeting. apparently my review was circulated in the group that day. you may or may not of had some new customers the last couple of days. as per my last review, hopefully you can fix these areas that need fixing and eliminate the problems or re-train or replace the untrainable. i own multiple hair salons owning any business is tough, wish you well. hopefully ordering next Tuesday again, will be ordering take out on Saturday from the kitchen Original review.... Its good great place BUT!! depends on Whichever day you go I'll explain, i currently live in nj i have family in Newburgh on center street less than a mile from pizza union. Were here every week on Tuesdays to visit the kids. We love going to pizza union, unfortunately its hit or miss if you go at the end of the week the kitchen menu is better , if you go at the beginning of the week you get a better tasting pizza thats cooked properly. Since we mostly get pizza we now visit our family on Tuesdays, so this way when we visit we get the better pizza pie. We went on a Friday three times, the in the jar salad perfect every time, garlic knot sliders a delight, Milanese not bad a little dry it's missing something but its good. Now if we get these items on a Monday not exactly the same the quality isn't there as it is on Friday. The food is great but the bartender is a NIGHTMARE. There is a middle aged woman who works at the bar who seems to just hate her life and everyone else too. I walked in with a mask once and she made such a nasty comment to me, so of course that didn't set off the night great. With the recent influx of Covid cases, you'll also hear her bragging to guests about how she convinced her boss to take down the masks required sign. Of course without any mandates, wearing a mask is a personal choice, but there is no reason to be rude to others about their choices (especially when that person is tipping you.) Their happy hour deals are great, so you'll often find the bar packed; however her bad attitude doesn't make it worth it. I'll come here and sit at a table any day of the week, though! I am so happy to have a restaurant like this in Newburgh!! This place is an all around experience. From the open pizza oven area where you can watch your pizza being made, to the ultra chill lounge and bar area, to the actual food! This is my new hang out spot!! I've been in twice now and both times got lucky enough to enjoy live music with my meal. Bruno makes you feel like you're part of the family! The food isn't cheap because it is QUALITY! Absolutely delicious. My husband and I were so happy with this unassuming restaurant in a strip mall in Newburgh, NY. I probably would not have stopped without looking at Yelp. We started by splitting a huge roasted brussel sprouts salad. Warm, roasted brussel sprouts were served over mixed lettuce and vegetables with a great house-made vinaigrette. Our Roman Veggie Pizza was hot and cheesy with a nice assortment of veggies. I almost never take home leftovers, especially not salad, but since we were not too far from home, I could not resist. We live in the area and was looking for some place different for an early Sunday lunch. So we gave Pizza Union a chance. All in all not bad. Was on the slow side. Our waitress was friendly but her follow up needs a little work. So my real compliants are with the pizza makers. Not sure why one of them would be wearing a Bluetooth in his ear, also holding a conversation with someone. Awful. Called for take out and they said 20 minutes. It took 40 and when I got home the chicken parmigiana we ordered was raw in the center. I called to complain and they offered me a refund. When I got there I was made to wait again and then the "supervisor" told me I should have brought the chicken back...he'd refund my money this time but if this happened again in the future I'd need to bring the chicken back as evidence. People check your bank account after you pay here. The rude waitress charged way more money to our credit card to give herself the tip she thought she deserved. I believe in tipping well when the service is great not when it's not. We had to call our bank to get this resolved, when we called the restaurant to inquire about the discrepancy the waitress made the whole conversation about how much tip we left and how much we should have left her. Came here on a Saturday night this past weekend. We were seated in a booth in the bar area. The place seemed very quiet for a Saturday night but it was our first time here so I'm not sure if that's normal for them. We ordered the Kale, Quinoa and Beet Salad as an appetizer - it took about 15 mins for the salad to come out. The dressing was a little sour for my taste but overall a great salad - great portions but I suppose at $15/salad that should be expected. We ordered the Angel Hair Primavera but added Alfredo sauce to it and it was amazing! The alfredo sauce is so flavorful and it went perfectly with the angel hair. The vegetables in the primavera were perfectly cooked and still had a small bite to them. We also ordered the Nonna Romana pizza and added jalapenos and mushrooms - overall a good pizza but a little too cheesy for my taste. If you prefer it less cheesy, I'd suggest creating your own pie and adding the toppings. Service was friendly, though a little slow for my taste. Food was good and the atmosphere was laid back. First and foremost, I'd like to say that people need to give the establishment a break. All businesses go through kinks when first opening. With that said, I would definitely go back. Went to Pizza Union Friday night 8/10 around 6:00, and was told there was a 45 min wait, so we ate at the bar. I'm not sure if the bar service is the same as table, but we didn't receive any bread with dipping sauce. We did, however, receive a slice of the Italian Scallion Roman pie on the house, which was delish! We ordered Fried Calamari, one of the salads, Chicken Parm, and the Luca Brasi pie. Each dish came out at different times. The Chicken Parm didn't come out until we were done with everything else. Everything was delicious, and we will definitely go back. The pizza was very tasty. We had brick oven pies, which are thin crust. The Roman pies and entrees weren't available due to it just being a soft opening. The salads and pasta we saw going by to other tables looked promising. We enjoyed the bread and dipping sauces brought out to us. For some reason though we had small round pieces of garlic bread while other tables got longer thicker pieces. I immediately was drawn to this one because of the brick oven pizza options. Picked up our order to go, friendly wait staff and welcoming environment. Would definitely get pizza from there again, so good! I got the "Nonna Romana", and my partner got "Beast of Burden". You could taste how fresh all the ingredients were, and it was definitely worth the money. You pay for the quality, and it was beyond expectations! We also enjoyed a Caesar salad, dressing on the side so you can add as much, or little as you like. I could tell the dressing was homemade because of how good it was. If this is the type of environment and quality of food you enjoy, definitely stop when you're looking to get some good pizza!
