Cascarino's is the real deal, and I do not use that phrase lightly. We tried three things on this visit: the grandma pie, a classic regular slice, and a custom panzerotto. Let me start with that panzerotto, because it deserves its own paragraph. This is the kind of dish you would have to fly to Italy to find, and somehow Cascarino's is making it right here. It was the single best thing I ate, and I am still thinking about it. The grandma pie was phenomenal, perfectly crisp on the bottom, pillowy inside, with that beautiful golden crust that so few places actually nail. The regular pizza held its own too, with solid sauce, great cheese pull, and a crust that had real character. But what ties it all together is the ownership. This is a true owner-operated spot, and you feel it in every detail, the care in the kitchen, the warmth at the counter, the consistency in every bite. When the owner is on site, this place is firing on all cylinders. Five star service, no question. And order the rice ball, packed with cheese and meat and hotttt out of the oven. Cascarino's is, without a doubt, the best pizza and Italian food restaurant in the area. It is worth the drive. We've recently just moved to the area and have been looking for a go to spot for deliciousness. We made the mistake of popping in last Friday (1st day of Lent) and ordered a few slices to go- that didn't go as planned... But, we've heard such great things about this place, so, we figured we'd give it another shot. Ordered a late lunch this afternoon- Clams were outstanding! Meatballs- yum! The garlic knots, though? After a morning of crow hunting (we got skunked), my best friend, The Missing Ink AKA the Old Crow, and I stopped at Coscarino's. Voted the best pizza in the area in 2021, 2022, and 2024 (WHAT HAPPENED IN 2023?)? What a great find! Located in a strip mall w plenty of parking. Not an abundance of seating inside, but just enough that we found a table. Order and pay up front, and someone will bring your food when ready. There were about twelve "designer" pizza varieties on display. I opted for two slices, one with spinach and ricotta (pronounced rigaught), the other w meatball and several cheeses. TMI ordered an eggplant calzone type of sandwich. My pizza was delish....one slice would have been enough. TMI's sandwich came w a side of marinara sauce, and was piping hot. We also witnessed an Italian combo sandwich ordered by the next table over. It was UGE! TMI also ordered an eggplant sandwich to-go, for his wife, the Breathtaking Maria. Not too often do you find a good pizza parlor in a town like Montgomery that also sells slices, and a large selection of the same. And with quality! Overall, as good as it gets in this area. I'd be surprised if Coscarino's didn't win for 2025 (and beyond). This pizza snob rates them 5 stars! Last, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the bathroom. In the words of my fiancé, "best pizza I've had in 5 years," and this is a lot coming from him as I've learned he's one of the biggest pizza snobs I've ever met. We completely stumbled upon this place by chance in search of pizza while traveling on the road. First, it's pretty much right off the interstate so it was super quick and easy to get to for those also looking for quick food stops that aren't fast food. Side note, we called 20 min ahead and got gas right off the exit beforehand and we arrived in perfect time as our pizza had just come out of the oven (so anticipate about a 25 min ready time). Second, and I can't emphasize this enough, the gentleman we spoke to behind the counter was the friendliest, most welcoming person. We presume him to be the owner? Maybe? But I was truly enamored by the pride he took in the pizza and after asking if we'd like to see it (which how can you say no to that?) he revealed it in an almost ceremonious fashion, and boy it did not disappoint. It was a work of art (my photo does not do it justice, as in this case the phone did not eat first). Even though our plan was to eat on the road, we decided to have a slice (which turned into two, then three) in the charming, very clean, pizza parlor. And finally, the pizza? Chef's kiss out of this world. THIS is what we call amoré. One bite, everyone knows the rules, this was a very solid 9.3. My biggest complaint with pizza is that they're typically too oily and give me the worst heart burn but this wasn't even close to oily, and thirty minutes later, this is settling very well--no heart burn, upset stomach, or feeling gross. The owner said it's all fresh ingredients and my body is feeling the difference. So service here was pretty chill and friendly, plus very thorough my order was exact. Buffalo chicken and grandma slice pizza were delicious, buffalo was spicy and not overly tangy and for the grandma slice, the crust so good, not burnt or rough and just right if amount of sauce and cheese with little basil. Mussels marinara was best of what ordered, definitely felt like more than a pound of fresh mussels bathed in that rich savory tomato sauce, not overcooked and enjoyed the bits of roasted garlic in the sauce. This was always my go to pizzeria. However over the last year the quality has done down the tubes. It was always hood thin crust pizza with a fair amount of cheese, now the pies come loaded with dough bubbles and far less cheese. The dough is no longer thin and floppy, it's thicker and hard, not typical of real NY Pizza. This has been the downward spiral over the last year. Most recently, I noticed a significant size difference in what is a large pie Bs what a large pie was a few weeks ago. While I was picking up my pie. I heard the cashier on the phone with a customer who was upset with the size of their pie. The large pie you pay for is a small or medium pie, hard to tell since they stopped selling medium pies a while ago. To be honest, they are no longer quality pizza. You get more for your money at Guidos in Walden. I also tried the mozzarella sticks. They were god awful. They tasted like something you would get in a box out of the frozen section at Shoprite. Copperfields is the only place that still makes good Mozzarella sticks. What happened to Cascarinos? They were my favorite pizzeria, but in just a year they have gone completely into the toilet. read more

Frequent Cascarino's pizza, it's my go to place for pizza, wings and sandwiches. Pizza is NY style with some of the best crust I have had on a pizza. I normally pickup which is fast. When I do sit down to eat the service is friendly and the food is hot (most of the time). If they are busy sometimes the pizza with a lot of toppings can come out too fast. If you don't like the temperature ask them to throw it in again Seating is limited so again if their busy you may not get a seat. Delicious pizza coming in almost every style possible. I'm from Massachusetts and was in a weird area of New York for my first time called ellenville. This place was about 20 minutes away from there me and my boys popped out grabbed a couple pies and they were absolutely delicious and the service was great too no complaint. I ain't from New York so the shit slapped compared to the pizza I'm used to it was my first New York pie I've really tried, and being 2 hours away from the city and most known spots I was very impressed how good the pizza was.
