The food tasted great but the portions were tiny. My husband and I are average size eaters and never complain about quantity of servings, but we were hungry after finishing our build-your-own poke bowls. We both got half and half base (rice and spring mix) and I watched with surprise as the employee carefully counted and placed 4 single spring mix leaves over a teeny scoop of rice. I could have easily fit all of the base in the palm of my hand, and the topping portions were one non-heaping, small cereal sized spoon each. It is a bummer because it all tasted great, but just wasn't enough food. I think Fusion Bowl should reevaluate the return on investment of rice. read more

So I had a "ME" day today... no husband and no kiddos to answer to LOL! First time since precovid! I was able to go out to lunch at Fusion Bowl with a girlfriend. I've been meaning to go forever but something always happens. Point to note, this place really doesn't have much seating. My girlfriend and I got the only table (2 seater) they had and then there are a few bar seats. They had some outdoor seating but it was chilly today! Fortunately, we got there earlier for lunch so we were probably one of the first customers. People came in to order but no one else sat. I would say definitely not conducive if you have a larger party or kiddos... it's definitely more of a "to go" spot especially as the weather gets colder. At any rate, it doesn't deter from the actual poke bowl we each got. We both chose to make our own bowl. I love the variety of toppings. I started with white rice then added the following toppings: cucumbers, seaweed salad, edamame, masago, avocado and corn. I added Sirracha Aioli, OG sauce, wonton chips and crispy onions. I did three proteins: salmon, spicy salmon and ahi tuna. All in all, I thought it was delicious and I can't wait to get it again soon! Finally got a chance to stop in since moving into the area. I'd decided I'd be back before even receiving the food, the customer service was absolutely amazing, she was so sweet and helpful. The food was also fresh and I didn't feel overwhelmed with options. Will be back soon to try more of the menu and their elderberry hibiscus tea! read more

Reasonably priced, great place for a quick bite - this place really hit the spot for a fast casual dinner the other day. They have some pre built menu items to pick from l, or you can build your own. Like many otHer fast causal places, I'd recommend doing a little bit of research on what you want to get beforehand if this is your first time- as you won't get much in the way of recommendations while you're there. This joint has the freshest salmon I've had yet in the greater Richmond area. I am super picky about my sushi and sashimi. If it's not fresh I can't eat it. :( Maybe I have a sensitive palate for fish... but I can tell if the fish is going bad immediately. I have been to a few Midlothian/Henrico/Richmond sushi spots that are supposedly the "best" since I've moved to Richmond, and I have been disappointed at each place. I was starting to think maybe I just shouldn't eat ANY sushi around here. But Fusion Bowl proved me wrong. And I'm so glad! I got a build-your-own salmon bowl with sushi rice and topped it with edamame, green onions, mango, wonton crisps, crispy onions, sesame seeds, ponzu sauce and sriracha aoili. The ponzu sauce is great -- maybe a bit sweet, but the sriracha aioli balanced it out pretty well. Sauce pour is a little heavy so maybe ask for a light amount of sauce. I'm so impressed. I can't wait to go back and try different fish for my next bowl!! read more

I had been meaning to try this place out, and man, it did not disappoint. It's a poke bowl place, but set up so that you can choose your toppings, sauces, and even type of rice. My husband isn't big on raw fish, and they have shrimp, cooked chicken, and spicy cooked chicken for people like him! He got spicy chicken, and I mixed the spicy salmon, spicy tuna and the marinated tuna. Definitely recommend the OG sauce, and the sriracha aioli. Hubs got the wasabi aioli and sriracha aioli. Wasabi peas on top were a delicious topper. The portions are generous, and the price was reasonable for what all is included. They also have mochi ice cream! They also have online ordering, and are available by delivery apps also. The staff person inside was very nice and personable. We're already planning our next trip, and can't wait! read more

What a great little Hawaiian sushi place! It is a build-a-bowl meal and the fish and other protein is always so fresh and delicious and the rest of the ingredients are always beautifully presented and maintained. Have gotten take out (it is primarily a to-go business) seven or eight times now and have never been disappointed. The gentleman who I presume is the owner is very nice and he prepares your meal himself with extraordinary care. The new menu board looks great!! It is quick, he stays open a little later than most (thank goodness!!) and the prices are very reasonable. Absolutely loved this place. So glad I found it. I had the tuna bowl and the marinated tuna was so fresh and delicious. Everything about my bowl was perfection from the white sticky rice to the seaweed salad and masago to the two dressings (I got OG and ponzu).
