Well the only good thing I use to have to say is the food is good. Other than that the service is very poor. First off in these days of Covid-19 this place is entirely too small to hold all the people they squeeze in & put on top of each other. The music is always loud to the point of getting a headache. Especially if you had a drink or two,forget about it. Make sure you have some tylenol with you. It takes forever to place an order & about 2 more years before your drinks show up. By the time my food came it was cold & I had no utensils to eat with. Which took an extra 20 mins to receive. By that point I had to send my food back to be reheated. I've been a patron of Fusion East twice. One time was a weekend for brunch. Wasn't rally found of what I ordered. I ordered a salad...but they didn't have most of the ingredients needed. Instead of stating this I had to keep asking for the missing ingredients to only be told they were out. My mom ordered the pork chops which were dried out. They replaced her meal free of charge and the replacement was just ok. I had wings and codfish fritters as appetizers. Wings were yuck and fritters were good. I then went again one Friday for happy hour. The drinks were good! Will definitely come back just for drinks lol. Yet again I ordered wings and codfish fritters. The wings were good this time, however the fritters were hard. Your meal really does depend on the cook that day. I want to start this off by saying this is a brand new establishment. They opened yesterday. Don't be so hard on them when it comes to speedy service. It WILL improve. I live only a 5 minute walk from this place. I wanted to support the neighborhoods newest business. Decided to go and grab some take out but ended up staying instead. I sat at the bar. The place is super clean. Lights are dimmed comfortably and the music is played at a respectable volume. I was helped by Khadijah. She was the super sweet bartender. She was extremely professional, very personable and joyously jubilant. She kept me informed of my order from the time I placed it and even who was going to be bringing it to me at the bar. Khadijah may just be the best bartender in all of East New York. She was a rockstar! I ordered a jerk chicken sandwich with a side of Mac & Cheese. Both were pretty damn good. The service overall was really good. My meal was really good. Everyone in there has such a nice attitude and really excited about this new restaurant. It's an air that's inviting. I have been to Fusion East once before for happy hour, the place was clean but it was ok in the service was decent. we decided to try it for brunch we were able to walk there which is really nice to have a nice neighborhood eatery. The service was excellent. I believe if memory serves me correctly that our servers named was Latoya. She was attentive and very pleasant. The restaurant & facilities are super clean which I appreciate. The unlimited mimosas were an excellent touch, I have a nice buzz going by the time we left there. I had the chicken and waffles it was good the chicken was crispy and flavorful, the waffles were soft but the sauce that came with them... Amazing . I don't exactly know what it was but it was like a light brown color and kind of like a caramel color. This is my third time going to this spot. I really wanted to like this place but just like the first time it smells like mop water as soon as you walk in. I requested a table in the back where the smell wasn't that bad. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the waffles were stale. The chicken was bloody inside as you can see in the photo. They do have a fixed brunch menu so you can't order from the regular menu but you do get unlimited mimosas for as long as you can take them, unlike the 2 hour limit a lot of places have, or maybe I was there on a slow day? Either way, the portion sizes are good. You get enough to fill you. The staff was nice on this day. It seemed like a good place to hang out, get a drink, watch the game, etc. My order came out on time but wanted to try the cornbread, which we were told would be ready, then later on was told the chefs made it in an entire batch so it wouldn't be ready until much later so we just had to let that go. So the first time I went here it was really horrible. I only gave it 4 stars because my experience the first time being there was karaoke night and it was a bit too loud and obnoxious. It was definitely humorous, but became slightly annoying after a while.However, they have extremely good food. If you wanna laugh and possibly be annoyed then go on karaoke night. If you want to enjoy food and hear yourself while you're trying to speak then go on any other night besides karaoke night and try everything they have. Went here with my coworker to celebrate our birthdays. We both had the escovitch fish with rice and peas. The fish was good but we both thought the escovitch sauce was way too vinegary and I'm Jamaican and this is something I eat and make often. The rice and peas was good, but it was a little dry. $960.12 WASTED!!! WAITED OVER 2 HOURS FOR FOOD!!! Had a ladies event with Evangelist and Ministers, service was horrible. The seating party was on time, everyone took their seats; 40 minutes of being seated no one came over to ask if anyone would like anything to drink. One of the guest asked about 4 times for water, she came over with a bottle of water. I had to find the Assisting Manager and ask her can she give my guest some water, because it was warm inside the place. She gave 4 people at the table water out of 25 guest. The rest of the guest asked me if they can have water, she told me to give her a second (she never came back with the water) she was serving drinks at the bar. I had to ask a waiter, and he came right back with the water. There were only two of them working in the entire restaurant (this is event was planned well over 3 weeks) The tables weren't cleaned off, me and my guest had to move dishes off the table, until the waiter seen exactly what we were doing then he proceeded to move some. He stopped what he was doing because he had to attend other customers that were coming into the restaurant. The event was suppose to be for 2 hours but the food didn't arrive until 4:15 pm and the event started at 1:30 pm, some people didn't even get an opportunity to eat because they had a ride that was picking them up at a specific time, so they had to leave. Food had to be taken back to the kitchen, the chicken was hard and not seasoned the waffles were cold. While all of this is going on the table was still messy and no one checked on my guest! Classic moment...the assisting manager asked for a slice a cake and said if I didn't give it to her she was going to cry (*LIKE REALLY) I have no problem giving anyone anything, but allow me to offer it to you. We went on Valentine's Day and I know it's a busy day so I tried not to be too critical. They did not have the reservation that I set up two weeks prior, but they sat us immediately anyways. Things started to go downhill really fast when the waitress said she had to check to see if they had potatoes to serve with the eggs, it turns out that because there was no potatoes you couldn't get the egg Then the next item was an omelette, which she had to check again with the chef to see if it was possible to get one, the response she came back with was that the Chef said he had a catering event and he was NOT making any omlettes. I had to ask her to repeat because I thought I misheard what she said, and couldn't believe the chef WAS NOT making the omelet. We finally decided on Calamari, Salad and Wings, once again she had to check to see if there was any Calamari. At that point I was over it, and was ready to leave, but she came back and said they had Calamari. Took us a while to get the food, and our drinks, the food came before the drinks; we had to actually ask for the drinks The end game was that we noticed the place was quickly filling up after a while, and we thought it was the after church patronage, but came to find out they had an event for a funeral repast, but never closed the venue or alerted the patrons who were dining there, and it just became one total mess with people looking for seats, and one waitress trying to handle everything. As we got up to leave, one guy who was standing near our table couldn't even wait until we fully vacate the seats before he just squeezed himself into one of the seat, not even a simple excuse me. We were still literally standing by the table putting on our coats. Trying to get out of the venue was like walking an obstacle course with people standing around greeting each other, some pushing they way through rudely. No coordination for the event, total chaos. I've been meaning to come check this place out for a while, but I'm sure I won't be back. I came with my mother and cousin. When we walked in we were greeted by a nice gentleman and immediately after we sat, our waitress greeted us. We decided to get the sampler which included jerk wings, coconut shrimp, cod fish fritters and spring rolls. The waitress told us they have no more cod fish fritters (we got jerk shrimp instead) and I asked for grilled shrimp instead of coconut shrimp (but she brought out fried shrimp instead). Both shrimps were good but very salty. The wings were also good, but a tad too soggy for my taste. BUT the spring rolls! Ugh they were rotten!! Literally rancid. I spit it out immediately and told our waitress. she apologized and gave us more jerk shrimp (did not help, I was still very upset). For my entree, although now very nervous, I had the jerk salmon. The salmon tasted like it had freezer burn and I wouldn't be surprised if it was also spoiled. It left a really bad after taste in my mouth to the point where I had to rinse my mouth out with mouth wash when I got home. I will never be back. Coming from someone who has worked in restaurants. The band was great but extremely loud for such a small space, we could hardly have a conversation over the band playing. The food was ok. I had the fish and chips and my friend had the chicken soup and fritters. Everything was lackluster, not a lot of flavor. Additionally, the restaurant was extremely cold, all the customers had on their jackets. When we asked for the heat to be turned up, we were told that it was cold because the windows are glass. If that is the case, the owner should consider changing the windows because it was just as cold inside as it was outside. Everyone in my group was shivering, even with jackets on. After leaving this restaurant and paying my $25 happy hour bill, I was later alerted by the fraud department of my bank stating that $1600 worth of charges were being made on my card from a place I had never been.
