First time I came in to this place was 10 years ago and the sushi and salads was great..and then never came back because I moved to a different location from where I lived near by. Now just Recently I moved back to this area and I decide to come back to this sushi place and I noticed on the reviews people where writing about service from the waitress and posted bad reviews. I decided to come try it out and see for myself of its true.. I noticed the waitress was very nice but the guy who was doing sushi it he was cool too.. did amazing fresh sushi and a Connie salad with the sea weed.. everything was fresh and good.. then again I decide to come back next week and the waitress remembered me and she became more nicer and then guy whose was doing sushi he made Connie salad on the house because he remembered I liked with the sea weed.. read more

The sushi is really good especially compared to other more expensive places but when I order delivery they take over an hour to get here sometimes and one time when I called to check in they promptly told me it's on the way and hung up on me and I proceeded to wait for another 20 minutes after I called them. read more

The sushi here is very good but the prices aren't. For a sushi deluxe, one tuna roll, one salmon roll, and spring rolls you'd think it'll be about $20-30, right? No. It's $45 for those items. Its funny i saw a review that said this place smelled like fish, LOL your in a sushi place buddy, that is like saying the steakhouse smelled like meat. Anyway (rant over) i love the hibachi rice and the dragon roll, the miso soup is one of a kind and you used to even be able to get breakfast here. My favs are the chicken tempura roll, the manhattan roll, the spicy tuna and any of the hibachi rices. read more

Don't come here for sushi or even come here at all. Their customer service is horrible! The waitresses never greet you and they always have a bad attitude. I have been here twice. Once, for lunch and another for dinner. The food isn't tasty especially their "Thai" menu which lacks authenticity. The sushi isn't fresh and for dinner time, the sushi combo is pretty expensive. This was my first time trying this place. My coworkers and I were pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed our food. My coworker and I ordered the shrimp teriyaki lunch box, which came with rice, some veggies, 4 shumai and 6 California rolls. We will definitely order from here again. I think if they want better reviews they should hire better waitresses who like their job. Other than that, only the sushi is good but the thai menu here sucks. Good value for AYCE Sushi in Fresh Meadows. Fish is mostly fresh and the chefs don't add too much rice which some sushi buffets are known to do. You don't get access to the whole restaurant menu but there is a decent representation of hot apps and sushi. I do wish dessert was included but I like how they include hamachi (yellowtail nigiri/rolls) on the AYCE menu which many buffets exclude for cost. We'll be back. read more

why the harsh reviews. this is a fuzhounese/japanese owned japanese restaurant. pros: 1. lunch special is pretty cheap - $7.50 for 3 rolls and a soup. (best deal) (highly recommend... rolls with avocado, they just add that extra 'oomph' to the taste) 2. very friendly service 3. good green tea 4. tempura's are pretty good 5. only one around the neighborhood, the next closest i can find is down at union turnpike/utopia. 6. easy on the wallet (go for lunch, not dinner) cons: 1. udon isn't really japanese style, but chinese style BUT they put a lot of vegetables and mushroom so it evens out. 2. i dont know where the 'fish smell' people are referring is coming from, smells pretty normal in there, and i mean.. its a SUSHI place, its suppose to smell like fish. if you only went there to try tuna rolls (not the best tasting one i had)... crab rolls (what the bloop? get the spider roll... at least it looks cool and tastes good), my gf loves the eel w/ avocado & salmon w/ avocado & shrimp tempura rolls, they also give a lot shrimp&veggie tempuras with the tempura udon noodle. if you feel the food is bland, maybe you're just ordering bland food.... come on crab rolls? who goes to japanese restaurants to eat that. highly recommended: a. dragon roll, spider rolls and the other SPECIAL rolls b. tempura udon noodles c. $7.50 lunch specials d. sashimi boat i eat out a lot and futigi is by no means the best out there but it is above average, on top of the very friendly staff, it is a good place to go for a decent lunch and no i don't work for them. 4/5 but definitely not a 5/5. read more

ordered from this place at 1pm from seamless and got a knock at my door at 3pm with delivery. i had to keep calling the restaurant and they kept lying to me saying the order was on the way when it wasn't. i called seamless to cancel the order and when i canceled the order the delivery guy was at my door. i took the food anyway even though my order was canceled and the delivery guy came back asking for the food. i ate the soup and gave him back whatever was left. should of ate the sushi too and gave him trash in the box. do not order from here. read more

I don't understand why people are complaining about this place..... I had such a good experience at Futigi. I went for the all you can eat buffet portion of the menu and I must say, the sushi and everything else I ordered (EXCEPT THE CALAMARI) was just divine and so fresh and delicious! My friend and I ordered a little too much, and we tried our best to finish the food and take our time to eat this but eventually, we had a bowl of kani salad and around 10 whole pieces of sushi left. We of course really didn't want to get charged, but we had no space left to eat this, so we asked the workers how much we would be charged extra. The worker then kindly told me and my friend that he will not charge us and to not worry for it. He then asked us if we would like a take out box which we then agreed to use so that way we were not wasteful. He didn't charge us at all and gave us take out boxes! (P.S Don't take this as an excuse to not finish your food bc you think the worker will give you a take out box, it just so happened that my friend and I stayed at this place for a very long time and the workers just decided to be nice). Anyways the food was very good and worth the money 100% and the staff were SO nice and helpful. Only negative thing I have to say is that the workers sort of kept looking at my friend and I (which was a bit annoying) however the experience was wonderful and I highly encourage anyone to visit this place! :))) read more

We've had sushi delivered from here 3-4 times and have been very happy. We typically order the sashimi deluxe and a handful of rolls. Fish has been very fresh. Nothing out of this world so far but we are very happy to order from them. read more

I came here because its close by and I love sushi. Th service was great but the server didnt smile as much. The chef was nice and I loved their spicy tuna. This is a cheap local sushi place. The main waitress doesn't really greet you nor seems friendly but she does her job-take our orders and bring them to the table. Unbelievably after 4 years of coming here, last week was the first time I saw her smile and laugh. What a wonder! Then she went back to being uber-serious. I've always order the Kani salad. The cucumber in the salad is not always crisp but is soggy. I still order it out of habit. They have a 3-roll for $XX (i think it's $13 or something) so I order 2 rolls and my fiance orders 4 rolls. I always order the chicken mango roll and the philly roll. I normally don't eat the raw stuff but it's tolerable with the wasabi and the thick cream cheese. My fiance would order the spicy ocean roll, philly roll, eel cucumber roll, and spicy tuna roll. From the looks of it, he likes them. The places is always empty so plenty of booths to choose from and most of the time I've been there, there's only one other couple dining in. There's meter parking in front. I live nearby so I walk here most of the time. After dinner, buy an Italian ice from next door and walk home. read more

Never in my life have i taken the time write a bad review, but this place has left me in disgust. The service was ATROCIOUS. Wen we came in the waitress practically threw the menus on our table and walked away. Than when we were asking questions about the menu, she was giving us an attitude, but that wasn't the worst. I ordered an all you can eat while the person who was with me only wanted a salad. Once we got our food my friend asked to try ONE PEICE of my food, and the waitress came running at us and LITERALLY stopped her from touching my food. She said she wasn't allowed to touch MY food. We asked why and she kept saying, "no, no, no." THAN SHE SAT THERE WATCHING US. Than we decided to order another all you can eat for my friend because she wasn't allowed to try my food even though she wanted to. She came around with the menu, and when we were checking off what rolls we wanted, she grabbed the menu and said we ordered enough. OMG. She was ridiculous, Than she didn't even give us what we ordered because we wouldn't be able to eat it, although we had only ordered 3 rolls at that point, and they made it absolutely disgusting. She made a lot more rude and terrible remarks at our visit while we were there, but there is too much type.. NEVER EVER AGAIN.
