This place has been in the area for awhile and yet I've only been here twice to eat in. Once with the best friend many moons ago and once more recently with the boyfriend and his mother. It's definitely one of the few spots in the area you can go and have a decent sit down meal in. From my recent experience I tried the Chicken Udon noodles, which I definitely shouldn't have ordered but with the rough week I had I definitely needed the comfort food. Loaded with bok choy and mushrooms it was flavored to perfection, which is why I pretty much ate it all up but it could also be because I skipped lunch and had a big workout session that day. I also tried one of their dumplings that the boyfriend's mom ordered and I had to refrain from wanting to eat another one (good thing I have good self control). They now have all you can eat sushi and hot food, $20.99 per person on weekdays, $22.99 (or was it $23?) on weekends. My mom, my brother and I come here quite often for that reason. Quality of the food is still the same. Sushi always tastes fresh. Love their avocado and seaweed salads. Tempura...a little too much batter for my tastes, but still good nonetheless! I've been going to this place for years being that I live down the block & they have an unlimited sushi option, as of yesterday I went for my usual unlimited sushi & to my surprise I saw a bunch of new faces a.k.a NEW OWNERS! ALTHOUGH they did keep the menu/prices the same, & the sushi still tasted the same the staff was horrible! Strong attempt at an all you can eat 'sit down' serve style. There was a good selection of hot entrees teriyakis, yaki udon, katsu, chicken satay, soups, salad ( my fav was the salmon skin), usual sushi, & rolls. Unfortunately we did not bother to try any sashimi as it was an extra $5 per person on top of the $22.95. There were some good rolls, but it was over shadowed by the rolls that had way to much 'crunchies' mixed in. I actually dont like the crunchies at all, so made it a bit disappointing. In general The flavors were not something I will remember as standing out. Unfortunately, with 3 other AYCE sushi within traveling distance, that offer a wider selection & flavorful options at around the same $$; this place will be low on the list. A lot of others slapped on a 3/5 rating or somewhere along those lines. That's personally pretty accurate. I go here every now and again mostly out of convenience. It's a small walk from where I am, and frankly that's probably the best thing about this place. The sushi here is a resounding meh. I have had much better sushi and I have had much worse. I never ate in here, mostly because the service doesn't look good from what I saw. I can't really put it into words how the interior feels like. It's weirdly dark even in the early afternoon, and it's usually empty, with at most two tables occupied whenever I go there to pick up the food. Even with the whole "20-ish dollars for all-you-can-eat" deal that likely happened with new management a while ago, I don't think I'd ever go here for that. There are MUCH better places that are cheaper and with better food. This place is only really worthwhile if you live close to it, and if another better sushi place opened up that's within that short of a walking distance, this place needs to really shape up. This is a review update for 2015 and for ordering through grubhub. The prices on grubhub are a little higher. They offer the three roll special with miso soup and salad for $15. Make sure you order ahead because it will take an hour or more. We ordered at 4:45 and the food was not delivered until 6pm or so. The quality of the fish seems to be about the same. The assembly of the rolls is still as unprecise as I remember. Some of the rolls are uneven in width or lopsided. Its still edible though and tasty. The rolls with a single item inside are very tiny and they don't compensate by adding any additional rice. My order of shrimp tempura rolls only came with 5 rolls and not the usual 6. They charge 50 cents for extra sauces. The spicy mayo is good but not very spicy. The salad is just some lettuce and one slice of cucumber but the dressing is great. The miso soup is also good. I don't have any problems with the taste of the food at all but the portion sizes could be bigger. I'd easily skip the soup and salad if they would make the rolls a little bigger or offer 8 instead of 6. I will likely order again since they are so close and accept grubhub but not because it's a favorite choice. read more

Service was horrible. People were not very friendly in fact, my waitress rolled her eyes at me and did not smile once. We ordered a beef teriyaki bento box. The meat was too hard to chew. We also ordered sushi: salmon and cream cheese, spicy tuna and eel roll. Eel roll was probably the most enjoyable out if the three. Spicy tuna was neon colored and tasted like mush. I never dine in, only order for take out and delivery. Their kitchen entree is generally good (I've never tried their Thai yet). However, I've ordered rolls one time and it was horrible. I understand that the price of roll is cheap, but to be honest, I know a lot of places that have better quality fish with similar price. The worst thing about this restaurant is they never have proper service. There is neither hi nor bye. Came here on a Friday night for all you can eat. The sushi was ok, nothing special. The rolls they have for AYCE aren't very exciting. We did have to keep asking for green tea refills. The service was insanely slow. It seemed they were more focused on their to go orders than the people in the restaurant. It took 30 min to get our next order of sushi. When we first sat down the plate I got did not look clean. I asked to have it changed. It was changed without issue but no apology or anything. Also when we got the bill there was a gratuity charge included. I inquired about it and was told it was standard for AYCE. Futigi has two things going for it (at least for me): 1 - a decent lunch special, $5.95 for two sushi rolls + soup or $7.50 for three rolls and soup; and 2 - it's a block away from my job (I teach in an area that is seriously lacking in food establishments). That said, those are the only reasons I go there. I've been to Futigi three times and all three times I've experiences the same thing, decent service, an empty restaurant and rather bland food. The sushi rolls - and I've only tried the Tuna, Salmon, Spicy Tuna, Eel and Ocean rolls, so maybe they're just not good at those 5 - have always been rather tasteless. I've been unable to get a decent taste of the fish, instead, it's predominantly rice and the wrap that I've managed to sense. This is obviously something that is a problem when you're eating sushi, if you're not tasting the fish, something is amiss (Ali style poetic rhyme done on purpose). In order to get any flavor in the meal, I'm usually forced to constantly dip each piece in the wasabi - soy mix I've got next to me. As for the miso, it's sort of pointless. The scallions lack crunch and the tofu is too small to even notice. As for the broth, again, no flavor. It's really just warm cloudy water with a sprinkle of flavoring. I actually feel bad that the food isn't better. I'd like to go there more often, but on a 40 minute lunch break I usually don't have time to sit down and enjoy a meal. I'm only usually able to go here once or twice a year, at the very beginning and end of the year when students are missing and I get an hour for lunch. Will I go again, probably. Bubble tea is better hot than cold. I never eat in because I don't ever want to stay. The restaurant itself is pretty run down. I don't know how they got their a rating. The waitresses are terrible and never seem like they want to be there, everyone's always on their cells and the sushi chef takes naps on the seats in between lunch and dinner. Prices went up which is fine but the quality has gone down significantly, which is not ok. Last time I ordered maki rolls they tasted so nasty I couldn't even finish it. Also, I requested that they substituted cucumbers with avocado in my philly roll because I don't like cucumbers with it. I stopped by for lunch today, the lunch menu has pretty decent prices. I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai which included Miso soup. It took about 15 minutes for me to get my order, I really didn't mind because that let me know they were cooking to order. The Shrimp Pad Thai was very good minus the mushrooms. I have been craving sushi for the longest time but I work in an area with limited access to food establishments. Add to that the fact I only have 30 minutes for lunch. I was happy to find a menu for this place and finally ordered from them - making sure to meet the $10 min for delivery charge. I ordered the Roll Special for lunch - a combination of any 3 rolls plus miso soup for $8.50. I also ordered the Kani Salad for $4.50. The woman who took my order over the phone was extremely pleasant. I waited approximately a half hour or so for my food to arrive. Not bad, considering they aren't right next door. Delivery guy was also very pleasant. First off, I was very disappointed in the size of the Kani Salad. For $4.50 I expected more than just a tiny, barely half-filled tin. Seriously, it was like three mouthfuls. But it was good. Must admit I had nothing to compare it to since this was the first time I had ordered it, but my tastebuds were happy. The Miso Soup was not hot, just warm. It tasted a bit watered down. While I'm not a fan of Miso Soup, I do enjoy it on occasion. This was lacking in every way. The three rolls arrived very attractively presented. I ordered the Ocean Roll, White Tuna with Mango and Spicy Tuna. They sent me a Salmon Roll instead of the Spicy Tuna :( Ok, not the worst thing, I like salmon. It was accompanied by a tiny portion of soy sauce for dipping. Hardly enough for the three rolls. I have to agree with most of the other reviews in that the sushi is just - eh. Nothing special. Actually kind of tasteless unless you really spike the soy sauce with the wasabi. The mango in my white tuna roll was very tasty though. And speaking of the soy sauce...this was not the nicely fermented, slightly sweet Japanese style soy sauce. I've only dined in once. This is a review on their delivery service. I work nearby so this place always gets picked once or twice a week among the coworkers. It's always the same two people who pick up the phone though. One is probably that offstandish waitress everyone's talking about here. Their English is not the best, but not the worst... Delivery is usually pretty fast, standard 20-35 minutes. When we order 50$ + worth of stuff they do take a bit longer though. Just call back and confirm. They have coupons labeled on their take out menu, so be sure to utilize those if you're over 35 dollars, at least for the pesky tax. I always get Chirashi lunch (12.5), and the size of assortment differs every time. Sometimes they gave me a full bed of rice, sometimes half bed of rice. Sometimes they include hamachi (yellowtail), sometimes they don't. But the usual fanfare is salmon, tuna, tilapia, white albacore tuna, and slivered daikon. Sometimes you get shrimp, kani and/or tamago randomly. I've never gotten a stomach ache yet. Comes with miso soup and salad (ginger dressing). My only gripe is that the bed of rice doesn't taste like it's seasoned/vinegar'ed. The stable assortment of fish is oily enough to offset that simple note though. None of my coworkers have had problems with their 2/3 roll specials. You can ask them to not include the ginger and wasabi. Lunch Box special comes in a lot of food. It's the entree meat, white rice, 3 pc of fried shumai doused in light teriyaki, and 6pc california roll. Soup and Salad included. The dinner version adds a full assorted tempura assortment! You may ask to switch out the california rolls for tuna / salmon rolls for 2 dollars more. Always go for the box set version of any entree! Else you -WILL- be disappointed like my boss was.. His looked like the regular Chinese take out. rofl TL;DR: It's standard-- Not extroadinary, but not horrible. read more

I was so excited to see an AYCE sushi place around the neighborhood. Since I went on a holiday, it was weekend price which is understandable. However, service was horrible despite the restaurant being pretty empty. The food was not up to par. The sushi pieces I got were fishy tasting and the rice kept breaking and falling off. On top of that, they keep leaving out several pieces of sushi that I ordered each time. I waited half an hour for a three piece order of shumai. When they were ready, they took it to the table behind me. I confronted the waitress about it since the table behind me had literally just ordered five minutes ago and I've been waiting for thirty minutes now. She just stared at me and walked away. When I did get it ten minutes later, it was so soggy and mushy that it was gross to eat. This does not take that long to heat up. The one sushi chef also took forever making our nigiris. I look over and I see him constantly chewing and eating as he's working! Unbelievable. I ordered five appetizer and only got two of them.
