Megan and Dean are wonderful, highly recommend them for your VWAG vehicle! This review is long overdue, I got connected with Futrell about 4 years ago after having picked up a VW Golf that supposedly had some aftermarket modifications that the dealer couldn't offer clarity on. After sending the VIN out to a handful of shops, Dean was one of few who responded, had worked on the vehicle, and was able to clear up some details. Since then, I've chosen Futrell as my go-to for routine and incidental maintenance. I especially appreciate their transparency, which is the most important aspect of interaction with a business for me. For more basic stuff, I prefer to do some of my own maintenance. In one case, there was an aspect of routine maintenance that we hadn't discussed when I dropped my vehicle off. Megan called to discuss that with me before the work was executed, giving me agency in whether or not I would handle that aspect of the service myself - something I really appreciated. In another case, I was dealing with a dying Turbo. Megan was very responsive in getting me an estimate and, since timing was a critical component of my decision making process, outlined projected timelines / availability for the repair. Megan wound up referring me to another shop across town that was able to get me back on the road sooner. I've previously dealt with other shops that try to secure paying work by telling the customer what they want to hear while failing to meet those expectations, the team at Futrell are looking out for what's in their clients' best interests and for that they have my loyalty. read more

I sensed that my 2010 Audi wasn't performing as usual. I took the car to Futrells Autowerks for an evaluation. They determined that it needed a new turbo charger. I was worried about getting a foreign car part before the tariffs kicked in but they went the extra mile and quickly ordered the part for me. They gave me a quote for the work and a time frame necessary for the repair. They not only met the time frame but the work came in lower priced than quoted. I was given wonderful personal service. I got a tour of the shop and I'm in awe. Thank you Meghan! Their lobby and waiting room reflect their passions for unusual guitars, skateboards, and Star Wars memorabilia. 5 Star Awesomeness Newish to the area, I'd been in search of a knowledgeable & reliable Audi shop. Well I just found a VAG GEM!!! From Meghan at the desk, to my tech & Dean the owner, I was seriously blown away at the level of efficiency, expertise, passion & friendliness! I'd been calling around for a couple of days as I was ready to move on from the stealership to support local businesses as well! I wasn't impressed with the interactions I had with other shops & luckily I found Futrell's! I sent an IG DM the night before & by 8am Dean had replied that they could get me in that day! Other shops had me waiting a month! Not only did they do my routine maintenance in under 1.5hrs, but Dean even took the time to computer tweak a couple of settings for me, gratis, to make my driving experience even sweeter! I have been here on three occasions since my original review (come to think of it, I don't know if that is a good thing), and have a fourth scheduled in a couple weeks. But regardless if it is a good thing, it is nice to have Dean and his staff available to work on my car. Completely professional, very helpful, incredibly knowledgeable. Dean has worked with me personally multiple times in helping coordinate my drop-off or pick-up of my car after hours given the distance I live from his shop. His willingness to stay late or meet on weekends has given me the ability to continue to use his business. And whether it is 7:30pm or on a Saturday (when his business technically isn't open), he always has a smile on his face. Oh yeah, in addition to the VWAG cars he's always worked on, he is now an authorized Dinan dealer (congrats, Dean!). Back in 2008 I had an S4 with the 2.7 biturbo that (surprise) needed the turbos replaced... Dean and his team were beyond helpful! The work was amazing and there was never any question about the quality of service provided. Unfortunately I had to sell the car. The jerk I sold it too gave it to his kids who are well know for blowing up cars and about two weeks later the guy came to me claiming the car was blown up due to poor service... clearly this was a load of crap but Dean still took it in and fixed it... he didn't have to do this but it just shows you how much he stands behind his work... My husband recently purchased a new Audi and didn't realize he would need winter tires for it when he bought it (whoops). He was introduced to Dean, the owner, by a coworker and Dean helped him sort through all of his available options and make the right choice based on our budget. He put in an absurd amount of back and forth via email before we even committed to work with them, which speaks highly to his character and motivation to ensure people get exactly what we need. Dean Futrell knows his stuff, seems extremely honest and is very competent. Highly recommended if you want any work/advice on your Audi (particularly compared to the corporate lackeys at Sunset Audi). I've got an Audi A3 (that I love) and the jokers at Sunset pretend that car doesn't burn oil at a much faster than the recommended oil change cycle. Well known and documented problem that Sunset won't acknowledge for fear of warranty issues and the like. You'd never get such nonsense at Futrell. Instead, you'd get good advice. read more

I called them today to get some suggestions on lowering my 2013 A3. During my phonecall I was asking questions in regard to springs vs coilovers and the guy (Dean I think) straight up told me on the phone I was asking too many questions and that if I was going to challenge his recommendations that this was not the shop for me.... Uh, I was under the impression that the reason a tuning shop exists is to guide customers and to help educate them if they are not car experts. Dean knows his stuff better than any shop I have ever been to. He diagnosed a problem with my Audi that the dealership could not, even after five visits. The problem was that the dealer had installed plugs that were not the right ones for the car and did not verify the gaps prior to the instal. The gaps were a few thousandth over the max factory spec. I live in north Vancouver, but they are well worth the drive. I have not been happy with Audi East Side's service. They mean well, but I think their techs are just not as good as they should be. I have been completely satisfied with Futrell's competence and the APR software & down pipe that have installed for me. I plan on having them do a full turbo upgrade and suspension for me. read more

I recently took my 12 year old Audi to Futrell and was blown away by their service! They got me in next day, without any notice. I brought the car in with the doomed "mysterious noise" from the engine bay, with no idea what was causing it. The guys diagnosed it quickly (and correctly!). I also had the instrument cluster replaced, and a few other things estimated. Michael was my contact throughout, and he did a lot of thorough research for me on the estimates-list. He was in constant communication and was incredibly thorough. While we waited for the instrument cluster to arrive, Futrell performed several courtesy inspections on the car to make sure everything was in order. He discovered that my tires were badly worn on the inside edge, due to my own poor adherence to tire pressure. I had not noticed this, being on the inside edge, and they were in dangerous shape. Michael tracked down all kinds of price options for me and even offered to have a tire guy come and perform the install before I picked the car up. The final price was exactly as quoted on the first morning. No surprises. I trust these guys 100% and will bring my car back every time. read more

I have a '16 Golf R & I've spent quite a bit money in this place & every single dollar has been worth it. Dean & his team are excellent. Great service. All the parts enhancements work perfectly on my car & my car is beast mode. One of the parts needed took longer than expected to come in & I had no other mode of transport so they let me borrow one of their cars until the work was done. I'm so happy a friend saw me whining about not being able to find an honest, knowledgeable VW shop anywhere and recommended I try Futrell. I had been to Green Drop who always charge the same as a dealership, sometimes more, for the hipster vibe. No thanks. They never seemed to really know my car either. I tried the dealership in Beaverton - even worse! Charge like a dealership but add on trying to tell me that my entire car needs replacing. $3000 of repairs needed on my $1,500 2001 Beetle?! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR DAMN MIND?! Futrell tried to find the cheapest fix for all of my car's issues. They could have totally lied and just replaced a bunch of shit and charged me a thousand bucks like everywhere else has done (I tried 3 shops back east too). Instead they sent me home and told me to start putting top tier gas in to see if it would fix it. It ended up being fine for 5 months, but the engine light needed more diagnosing. It was just a couple of cracked pipes for a couple hundred bucks. They also changed out my emergency brake handle cover for $50, when every other place quoted me $500+! Say what?! They all claimed they couldn't figure out how to just fix the cover alone, that they would have to pull the whole assembly out. Liars. I also like that Michael kept me up to date every step of the way with emails of pictures, estimates, and explanations. They don't upcharge you on the hourly labor costs either, they'll actually give you the half hour instead of rounding up! Unheard of :) Michael sent me to Advantage Collision Center for some body work, and they are equally great! read more

I just moved to town when the check engine light went on in my Audi Q3. Dean diagnosed the problem within minutes and even called Audi for me to make sure that the problem wasn't covered under a warranty before he scheduled my repair. I called around for quotes on the repair and Futrell was almost $100 less than other quotes I received. I was given a loaner car and my repair was done within hours. Dean really went above and beyond to make sure I understood what was going on with my vehicle. When doing the repair, they found that one of my tires was messed up and at risk of blowing. He referred me to a tire guy down the street who saved me hundreds of dollars compared to buying all new tires. I'll never take my Audi anywhere else. Dean is the best! read more

Futrell is a great shop! I've had the check my alignment a couple times, once it was barely off and they charged me $50 and the other it wasn't and it was free. Went to les schwab before here and they messed my alignment up and charged me $90. For anything that is German they do a great job! Will be going here for future mods. read more

Great service, great people. I Just bought an Audi A3 and wanted more speed and performance. Futrell has a great reputation so I decided to take my car there. I was very, very impressed. Dean, the owner, took care of me from start to finish. 1.5 hours later I was out the door with a much faster car. The truly impressive thing was the extra effort Dean put in for no charge. The Audi dealer could not figure out my XM ID (the radio was not displaying it) and told me it was my problem. Dean said I was not leaving until he figured it out.
