Total Upgrade Automotive - ENGINE REPLACEMENT ON SUBARU BOXER ENGINE

I recently had to replace both my headlights on my 2002 Ford Mustang…read more After I was done, I noticed that they weren't focused in the proper direction so one day at work I decided to take the car to Total upgrade (across the street from my place of employment, O'Reilly Auto Parts). Chris said he would do it for me and he would drop the car off in the O'Reilly parking lot after he was done (which is exactly what he did). I walked over to him and asked him how much I owed & he said nothing! NADA, Zilch! Wow, he did the work (headlight alignment) for free!

Worst experience I've had in my entire life. We found this mechanic, based off good reviews and one…read moreof the lower prices we were quoted we thought it was a slam dunk. Came in for a new transmission, broken AC and a leaking tire. Was told it would be a week, which sounds good as that was every time line we were told from other places we called. A week goes by and the parts still weren't in, again I mean that's just shipping and it happens, can't really blame the shop. After a week and a half they install the new transmission, but said there was something wrong so they kept working on it. Another week goes by and they say they need to order ANOTHER trans. At this point we are very frustrated as we needed this vehicle back 3 weeks ago. But I mean who knows what is really going on so we just hang tight. Finally, a MONTH later, we get a text that the trans was replaced and good to go but they didn't have time to fully fix the ac. Didn't have time? You had it for a month and decided until the last day to look at the AC. They replaced the blower motor but said they would have to take the whole thing out and didn't have time for it, so it was ultimately a temporary fix for a full charge. After asking for a price break down he gave us $150 off. Woopie after a $7,500 ordeal that didn't feel sufficient. They then charged our card for the second half of our bill after we explicitly said "we do not authorize this charge" and we also don't remember saying they could save the card on file..... if that wasn't all enough to make us never come back we then find out the tire was never fixed after it went flat on the road a few days later. To which the guy says "looks like I forgot" !!! Now the AC stopped working because again it was never actually fixed in the first place. Truly unacceptable from start to finish. They clearly do not care about doing a good job and just want your money. He asked us multiple times to pay the remaining balance before we even picked up the vehicle or had any work done. Avoid at all costs.

I moved here from WNC where I'd been going to the same dealer repair shop for 20 years. Finding a…read morecar repair shop you can trust when moving to a new city across the country is more stressful than finding a new doctor! I considered going to the Subaru dealer in Beaverton but I gravitated to Brock Automotive because of their stellar, glowing reviews. Glad I did. First, scheduling online is easy and they text you confirmations and reminders. They also respond to texts quickly and efficiently. Note that you will likely need to drop off your vehicle as they are very busy - another good sign! - and though I needed to leave my Subaru overnight, the repairs were done in a reasonable amount of time for the services required. What I also like is their system of 'needs attention, could wait, and doesn't need work' that is color-coded on their estimate sheet by Red, Yellow, and Green; as well the costs for the repairs are clear on that sheet. You can then decide what you want done, approve it, and they will begin the work on your car. My estimate is just what I paid, so zero surprises. Immediately walking in to their shop office, I was greeted cheerily and nicely by Coy--I felt comfortable and relaxed. Picking up my car, I was greeted by an owner, who was equally as cheerful and nice. My car was waiting for me right out front when I exited the office - everything was clean just as I'd left it. Awesome friendly people.

Megan and Dean are wonderful, highly recommend them for your VWAG vehicle!…read moreThis review is long overdue, I got connected with Futrell about 4 years ago after having picked up a VW Golf that supposedly had some aftermarket modifications that the dealer couldn't offer clarity on. After sending the VIN out to a handful of shops, Dean was one of few who responded, had worked on the vehicle, and was able to clear up some details. Since then, I've chosen Futrell as my go-to for routine and incidental maintenance. I especially appreciate their transparency, which is the most important aspect of interaction with a business for me. For more basic stuff, I prefer to do some of my own maintenance. In one case, there was an aspect of routine maintenance that we hadn't discussed when I dropped my vehicle off. Megan called to discuss that with me before the work was executed, giving me agency in whether or not I would handle that aspect of the service myself - something I really appreciated. In another case, I was dealing with a dying Turbo. Megan was very responsive in getting me an estimate and, since timing was a critical component of my decision making process, outlined projected timelines / availability for the repair. Megan wound up referring me to another shop across town that was able to get me back on the road sooner. I've previously dealt with other shops that try to secure paying work by telling the customer what they want to hear while failing to meet those expectations, the team at Futrell are looking out for what's in their clients' best interests and for that they have my loyalty.

I was worried about getting a foreign car part before the tariffs kicked in but they went the extra mile and quickly ordered the part for me. They gave me a quote for the work and a time frame necessary for the repair. They not only met the time frame but the work came in lower priced than quoted. I was given wonderful personal service. I got a tour of the shop and I'm in awe. Thank you Meghan! Their lobby and waiting room reflect their passions for unusual guitars, skateboards, and Star Wars memorabilia. I would say that German made cars are their biggest passion. My car works like a charm as they went over and above with extra tasks that a car this old needed. I will never go to the dealer again. Futrell's has a customer for life as this is my forever car.
