I was told that microneedling and prp would help reduce the stretch mark, I decided to go for it. It all went downhill from here. I came in for my appt. after work and they were running behind, I waited for almost an hour, fine with me. Then I was finally taken in the room and I showed her which areas I wanted to get done and she proceeded to tell me "oh that's a big area, I won't be able to get everything done today, can you come back tomorrow for the rest?" I said that's fine. Then we proceeded to get my blood drawn and she added numbing cream to the area but of course.... she was running out of numbing cream so she barely put any. She leaves the room while we wait for the numbing cream to kick in but then I waited for almost an hour cause she was still trying to take care of another patient, she kept apologizing and kept saying she doesn't understand why the front desk only books for X amount of time for these kind of session. When she finally came back to do the microneedling, she warned me it was going to be prickling... fine but then she also kept going over the same area because she wanted "to go deeper to get the most out of it"... I was in pain but I held it in because I trusted her.... she kept going over the area MULTIPLE TIMES!!!! I left there in so much pain and couldn't shower for days... I paid a pretty good amount for the session, came back the following day to another esthetician and paid for "another session" even though my first session wasn't done. I told the front desk but I didn't want to argue with them and was just glad that something can be done with the stretch mark. The second session was much less invasive and the healing process took no more than 3 days. The first session was still no where close to healing after 3 days... all in all it took almost a month for it heal. It took almost a whole week before I could shower normally and tolerate the pain from the wound. I was told that I would need a series of this process and should wait 4-6 weeks to come back. I was also told the healing process would take no longer than a week... true for the second session but completely false for the first session. For almost the entire month I was in pain but I thought it was normal because she had done it deeper, nor did she tell me to put anything on it to help with the healing process. Fast forward to 6-8 weeks later, I started getting hyperpigmentation... it was done wayyyy to deep that it damaged my skin. I called them and sent them pictures about it and I was told... "it may have been because I was stress" I ended up going to another place asking about it and the doctor told me that they should have been more careful as this area is sensitive and that they had damaged my skin due to the fact that they went too deep. I was given a hyperpigmentation bar to use and a cream to help with this but I've been even more self conscious about my legs than I ever was before. It's summer and I've not worn shorts or any type of clothing that would show my legs... I tried to come back but my schedule was getting pretty hectic and then when I was finally able to make an appointment it got rescheduled because the doctor was going to be out at which point I just gave up because I don't think they would have been able to help me, I was really curious to see what they would have said but I don't think they would have done anything.. they were no where near apologetic about what happened nor where they trying to help out. Now I'm down almost $600 only to leave with even worse feeling than before. Long story short, don't come here to get anything done for your skin otherwise you'll just walk away with worse skin than before and $$$ money short. Worst money I've ever spent!!!!!!!!!! I am now 65 and can't afford the $390 concierge fee and am looking for a new facility for my mamogram. I am disappointed that he is my third Northwestern Memorial doctor that has skipped down the road to become a concierge doctor. I have other specialists at University of Chicago Med, they never do this, only the NWM doctors go this route. I know he is the best and hires the best x-ray techs (never cause me pain). By reducing his patient population, I seriously hope he is able to help breast cancer patients that need constant imaging.

I asked why her previous statement did not apply and she remarked I didn't even have an appointment. Overall this was a very unnerving and unprofessional experience. If someone in their office makes an error they should own up to it instead of deflecting accountability. Hopefully Illinois Masonic will yield better experiences in the future.

Every time I have called to schedule an appointment, she acts as if she is doing me a huge favor. I have scheduled all of my appointments at his Glenview location, however, when I turned up for my appointment, I was told that the doctor was not in because I had been scheduled for the Chicago office. Even though I took the day off work, there was no apology, and she made it difficult to reschedule. When I returned to the Glenview schedule after taking the day off work AGAIN, Dr. Yoo and his nurse were very friendly and approachable. The procedure went well and I felt comfortable. Dr. Yoo did the interior stitches, but had a resident do the outer stitches. While the Dr. is very personable, I am surprised to see others state that he explained things well. Dr. Yoo did not explain what he was doing or offer any information if I did not ask (or know to ask) first. When the procedure was finished, I was given discharge papers by the nurse, I was taught how to properly care for my wound, and told I would need to take an antibiotic. I went to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription and there was no order placed. I called Dr. Yoo's call center, where they said they would page him, and still, after several hours, my prescription was not called in. I called several times again, and was told this time he would be paged "urgently", and my prescription was still not called in, and then the pharmacy closed. This is unacceptable. The staff at the call center were very courteous, but they asked for lots of details regarding my medication that should not be my responsibility as a patient: what dosage of the antibiotic I need, what frequency - how should I know? I'm not the doctor. I can't even imagine if this had been an emergency - the doctor is nowhere to be found! It took almost 24 hours before I was able to procure my prescription, and by then, my wound was a bit inflamed. This likely could have been avoided if the Dr. made it possible to adhere to his own plan. Eventually the next day, a nurse did call and apologize, and my prescription order was sent to my pharmacy. In Sum/TL;DR: Dr. Yoo and his nurses are nice enough, but his secretary is rude and things are poorly organized. I would consider going in again to have something small removed, because believe it or not, he was easier to schedule with than other dermatologists (e.g. shorter waiting times for appointments, accepts most insurance, convenient location). However, be advised: Dr. Yoo is pretty much impossible to reach if there are complications or if something happens after-hours, and if you are having a serious procedure, the risks aren't worth it.
