BEST PLACE EVER. I've been a runner for upwards of 8 years now. I've run multiple marathons, half marathons, 10Ks, etc., and I would never shop for my shoes anywhere else. Every time I'm injured, I head in there and get a shoe update (or just a reality check and told that I need to take some time off :) ). The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and most importantly, they're not just there to sell you on gimmicky spring loaded or minimalist shoes or whatever the trend of the week might be in the running community. I went in to buy some new running shoes because the ones I had were several years old. I've only been running for about 6 months (I'm not very good at it at that) so I wouldn't call myself runner or very experienced. However, Bill at Future Track didn't make me feel that way at all. He was extremely knowledgable and helpful. He took a good 30-45 minutes examing my stride, filming my run, fitting me in shoes, watching me run in them outside (what other shoe store lets you do that?!) and teaching me proper running techniques (no more heel strike for me!). He seemed passionate about running and I didn't feel rushed through the process at all. Yes the shoes are pricey, but I knew that going in and you get what you pay for. Many years ago I did a 60 mile walk to raise money for breast cancer. Future Track fitted me for shoes and I was one of the few people who did not spend their evenings in the doctors' tents because they had blisters. Last month I came in because I was going to Europe and would be doing a lot of walking and also hiking in the Alps. I am 74 years old and in pretty good shape but I wanted a shoe with support and traction as balance is a concern as we grow older. I just returned and wanted to make sure Future Track knows they did a perfect job in fitting me with a Saucony trail shoe. We did some serious downhill trails and I felt very secure in my shoes. I got a call from a friendly salesperson (I'm sorry I don't remember his name!) who said he had in stock what I was inquiring about. I told him I lived an hour away and could I purchase over the phone? And if so, could I pay for shipping to get them to my son ASAP. He said, absolutely and absolutely he would not have me pay for shipping. Can I just tell you how totally thrilled I was? And even better, because of President's Day, he said they would ship out the next morning. Today. I got home from work and guess what arrived?? it's been years, but i used to take my son here for shoes. he was on the track team for the high school. the school gave the name of this place as a place to get the proper shoes for his events. I know Jeff( my kid) was happy. they gave him what he needed and had a lot of styles for him to choose from. I remember going a few times. cant say they are cheap, but then these are specialty shoes. the sales staff seemed familiar with the proper shoes with track cleats. if Jeff was happy, then so was I. They have a treadmill to test, but she wanted me to test outside on the concrete sidewalk, which is the way to go, a much better test!
