Smog Check Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR)

I went to do a smog test for the first time and I did not know that a CEL (check engine light) is an instant fail for a smog test. However the owner went through with the smog test and charged me the service of $59.75 for a smog inspection and allowed me to do a retest for $10.00 dollars. Not sure why he went through the inspection even though the car was not going to pass because of the check engine light. Upon coming back to the store to take the smog test again, my dad questioned him about the check engine light and he lied and said there was no check engine light. I have proof the picture of the inspection report stating "P0420-Catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1" which comes up when your check engine light is on. I'm not sure why he needed to lie to my father about that but very disappointed with the dishonesty.

I called to get a quote and they were five buckets cheaper than a nearby place in Granada hills so I decided to go with G and A. My test was $50 out there door which includes sending the results to the dmv. I could have saved another $5 with the Yelp check in offer but I forgot to check in while I was still there. It was super quick, he was finishing up with another test when I got there, my test only took about 15 minutes and that was it. Friendly service, definitely would recommend them.

Got smogged, due to Covid they said they couldn't honor the $5 coupon but ok fine, small businesses could use this margin. Process was fast as could be and I was on my way with paperwork (receipt) and electronic pass sent to DMV. Save yourself the time looking, if this place is close to you, just go here.

5 stars no question, never written a Yelp review before but had to make an account so I can commend George's shop. Service was quick, professional, pleasant, and AFFORDABLE! I'm a student new to the area so it was tough deciding where to take my car in an industry with so many rip offs, but George provided great honest service that eased my concerns immediately. This place is great. It's just one guy in a one car garage in an area with some other auto mechanic garages. I called ahead, he said he could get me in in about 15 min, which he did. It was my day off & I called the shop 15 minutes before closing time. I called & then asked George if I can still come. He said yes. I was in & out in about 10 minutes & the car passed. It is a small shop but service is excellent. He even had bottled water in his waiting area & the waiting area is air conditioned. read more

Nobody really likes it when you get that little DMV slip that says you need a smog check. I guess it's just part of saving the planet. If you have to do it, you may as well go to George over at GNA: it'll be fast, painless, and he'll keep you entertained while you wait. I definitely recommend it. read more

If you look up smog coupons, you can also use it here. I believe I paid $55 with the credit card fee included but the gentleman working here was really sweet when I spoke to him on the phone which is why I ended up coming here. This smog check location is right behind a Shell gas station and I might have been lucky because there was nobody there and I was able to drive right up for service. It took no more than 10 minutes and explained the entire process to me. He was even sweet enough to check why my gear icon was on, and I thought that was such a nice gesture that he didn't even need to do, which is why I felt compelled to write a really good review for this location! I had googled a couple shops nearby to see which one would be the best price and even though there was a fee to pay by credit card this was still the best option. If you look up smog coupons, you can also use it here. I believe I paid $55 with the credit card fee included but the gentleman working here was really sweet when I spoke to him on the phone which is why I ended up coming here. This smog check location is right behind a Shell gas station and I might have been lucky because there was nobody there and I was able to drive right up for service. It took no more than 10 minutes and explained the entire process to me. He was even sweet enough to check why my gear icon was on, and I thought that was such a nice gesture that he didn't even need to do, which is why I felt compelled to write a really good review for this location! See you in 2 years! (28/50--2025)

Great place to hang out while waiting although I feel it could use more organization and some cleaning. I like that they have waters and sodas and coffee/tea drinks for customers. There are also some snacks and ice cream. Even though they were busy I didn't have to wait long. Everything gets sent to DMV and you get your stickers in the mail.
