I was impressed with the turn around until I started having electric issues. I found the rear fuse box was hanging loose. Now a year later, the electronics were acting up again. After my mechanic looked at it for almost 2 and 1/2 weeks, he discovered that the ground for said fuse box was only finger tight and was causing all my issues. I highly recommend that you ensure the vehicles are completely and correctly reassembled before calling the owner and telling them it ready. read more

My car was broken into, and GEICO coordinated for it to be brought to this shop. I arrived for my 9:30 AM appointment, but the front desk staff was not welcoming or accommodating. I was immediately asked for my name and keys with no explanation of the process. A supervisor briefly came out and stated they would prepare an estimate and text me an update later that afternoon. By 4:59 PM (they're about to close in a minute), I had received no communication, so I called the shop myself. During the call, I was told they were waiting for my spare key in order to fully reprogram the vehicle. I explained that I had already discussed with the supervisor that I would bring the spare key the following day. I also asked for a rough estimate, and was told the programming alone would cost around $500, which raised concerns for me. The next morning, I returned to the shop. The same front desk staff was present and again showed no basic customer service. There was no greeting or acknowledgment when I approached the counter. I repeatedly apologized for asking questions and for coming back, yet she barely spoke and offered no reassurance or explanation. It felt uncomfortable and dismissive, especially considering I was already dealing with the stress of a break-in. When I asked about the estimate, I was told, "You didn't get a text?"--which was the reason I was asking. It did not appear that anyone was clearly tracking my case. I informed them that I had found another professional who could program my car for a significantly lower cost. I was told I could not do that because they work exclusively with their own vendor. At that point, I requested to take my car elsewhere. When my car was returned, the driver side front area was covered in plastic due to the broken window, but the interior was wet. It had rained the night before & morning of, and it appeared the vehicle was not properly covered overnight. The cloth portion of my door is still damp, which is very concerning. Overall, this experience showed a lack of communication, poor customer service, and questionable handling of my vehicle. Ah, where do I begin? If you're a fan of quantity over quality, look no further! I really miss the days when Cindy and Rich ran the show at Hayward Auto Body--those were the golden years. They actually took pride in their work and cared about making sure their customers left happy. If they saw what's happened to their business now, I'm pretty sure they'd be facepalming from the great beyond. I'll spare you the full saga, but let's just say we got our car back with *missing parts* and rear tail lights not working and tools and trash left behind. Oh, and trying to get a hold of Luis (I think that's his name?)? You'd have better luck getting in touch with Bigfoot--because, surprise, no calls back. Shady and horrible auto shop. Came in to fix my bumper on my Audi and to get various parts replaced about 2 months ago. Suddenly my car started falling apart and I took my vehicle to another mechanic and discovered G&C Auto Body never replaced the parts they charged me for and hot glued everything back together. Not only did they charge me for replacement parts that were never even put on my car, they did additional damage and broke other support pieces on my bumper. This place stole my money basically and let me drive my car away knowing that it was held together by hot glue.luckily I noticed it before a major accident could have happened. read more

I came to G&C Auto Body by referral from my car insurance in late 2024 after an accident. They fixed my bumper in 3 days and were very communicative throughout the process, making sure I was satisfied. I felt confident with their service so I recently came back to them for a different issue and was again treated with care and fast service. Growing up in LA I was used to having a family-owned body shop that my whole family went to, and this shop gives me the same feel. They are honest and fair in their costs, compared to other shops who mark up the prices on work I could probably do myself. I had several issues with the workers while my car was being repaired. They lost my car key, which caused major delays since a new one had to be ordered and calibrated, and this all happened right around my wedding week, making it extra stressful. On top of that, when I went to pick up my car, maricarmen let me know she did a walk around the car to see if the damaged bumper was fixed but she did notice a crack on the windshield, she claimed a rock chip that it "already had" did expand while it was sitting outside. When I dropped of the vehicle the insurance company that was going to pay for the repairs of my car requested to send picture of all sides of the vehicle even where it wasn't damaged. To make sure they had proof that I wasn't asking the shop for any extra repairs on the car that's wasn't going to be covered through the insurance of the person that hit my car. Luckily because the insurance had the pictures it showed that the rock chip she claimed it had wasn't done by me. Thankfully, Maricarmen had picture of the windshield as well as it's her job to take pictures of the car prior to it being dropped off. They did fix the windshield a few days later. The only reason I didn't give a lower score is because Maricarmen kept great communication throughout and did her best to help, even though the mistakes were due to the workers' lack of professionalism. Overall the bumper and windshield did get fix but there was just to many set backs for me to be able to say I was extremely satisfied. read more

Overall 1/5 stars and here is why.... My car was in the shop for over a month (one month & a day) AND there are literally too many issues to list, let alone count on one hand, for the problems I have had to overcome while my car was in the shop at G & C Autobody Shop. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that when I finally got my car back after a month & a day and tons of miscommunication later.... it was MISSING A PIECE on the INSIDE of the car door, which wasn't missing when I dropped my car off to the shop. They were able to replace the piece on the inside of my car door and fix it within a week of me getting the car back, so that's a plus, but why even have that issue in the first place when you're doing your job correctly? On top of that, my bumper is totally messed up now. Before I took my car to the shop it was NEVER hanging off like this. I have pictures to prove what it look like before I got into the accident. Yeah the shop wasn't the best of experiences for me to say the least. In the future, I'm sure I can find a shop that is way more professional and a better quality of work especially for the price being so high. The two positive reviews I will say is that 1)My car is running in great condition & 2)The paint job is gorgeous! I've had the most terrible experience working with this shop and I'm so disappointed about my bumper !!! read more

Shout out to Karina for saving the day on my car! She performed OUTSTANDING customer service. When the parts supplier shipped the wrong headlight, she personally went to Fremont to pick it up to complete the job. Mostly due to the requirements of inspection by my out of state insurer, it took a month to repair a destroyed bumper. It took a lot of communication on my part, but I blame the insurer primarily for this incredibly slow turn-around. The results of the repairs are excellent. read more

There were issues on every front with this body shop. Right from the work they do, shortcuts they take, customer service, commitment to deliver the vehicle on time and keeping the customer updated on whats happening with the repair. My car was in a minor 15 mph collision with a small dent and couple scratches to fix. For this, they quoted $3500+ to the insurance. Ignoring that for a minute, they quoted that the repair would take 5 days to complete, and they mentioned that the representative will call me with an update every other day. After 4 days, I hadn't heard anything from them, I left a few messages for my representative and he NEVER once returned my calls. On the 5th day, I asked to speak to the manager, and he said my car will take another 4 days to finish! After 12 days my car was ready to be picked up! (What's the point of scheduling an appointment to drop off your car, if they can't work on your car within a reasonable time frame from the point it was handed off to them). This just shows that they don't value the customer's time. At the end of it, the quality of the repair was AVERAGE. The paint had blots, they had secured my bumper with screws in some places rather than the built in snaps. At this point, I really needed my car so I didn't have the patience to argue with them about the repair quality. To summarize, there was no visibility as to what was going on with the repairs, no calls being returned, repair quality was average and a lot of shortcuts will be taken. This is one of only Tesla approved shops near my home so I was stuck with this location. If you have a choice, please try a different body shop. I'm surprised that they are rated this high. read more

I went way back in May after my rear bumper got cracked during a crash and I can confidently say they don't communicate at all. They claimed to have estimates to write up and that they'd have mine for me the next hour or day and when we called two different times about it, they said they'd already emailed it and then the next time I called (3 days later) they said they're working on it- absolutely lied and just didn't care enough. 0 stars if possible. Absolute incompetence. I've never experienced a lack of professionalism or integrity from a business like I have dealing with G & C auto body, it's a disgrace. I took my car in for an appraisal on March 19, 2024 and was promised an estimate by March 20, 2024. The employee, *won't say his name *, didn't get the estimate back to me until April 2, 2024 (after I made calls on 3/26, 3/28, and 3/29). I was told from that point, the body shop would communicate with my insurance to get these going. It wasn't until MAY 1, 2024 when I contacted my insurance myself, that I was told they hadn't received any communication from this body shop. May 21, 2024 - I again call the shop and received no return call. I contact my insurance, he gets no solution. On May 6, he escalated the situation and gets through to the shop. A check was issued to them on June 7. With our unacceptable experience, my insurance told me to have the check signed over to me once the shop received the check and to get the car fixed elsewhere. I received a call from them on June 18, saying they'd love to order parts and get this going, & what a coincidence - they received the check the same day. I expressed my displeasure & disappointment in their service and lack of professional, and mentioned that I would be taking my business elsewhere. Apparently the didn't like that, so instead of signing the check over - the wrote VOID on it and told me to deal with my insurance. They said signing a check over is illegal HAHA... what a joke. So not only have they prolonged my car repair to this point, they've now delayed the process even further by voiding the check that took 100 days to get to. Restarting the situation, and not sure I'll have my car repaired in the year 2024 with the way this is going. read more

On Christmas Eve my car was broken into, in the middle of moving. When g and c. received the car I was told a little while had to order parts a glove compartment etc. expectEd about 2 weeks. They were done within days the repairs were completely rushed because THEIR lot was packed and they needed the parking space. They immediately hounded me threatening that my insurance will charge me extra for the rental car and when I asked for some type of payment plan they threatened to charge me storage fees. Working full time in special education we were going through back to school transitions, in the middle of moving etc. I'm stressed and exhauste. My cars are usually on the receiving end of accident. So I've had at least 7 repairs. This is by far the WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had with an auto body shop. To top it off, they NEGLIGENTLY and DISRESPECTFULLY threw the water soaked car cover on the back seat and now there is MOLD... MOLD MOLD... all around over my back seat upholstery. read more

Be careful bringing your car here, communication from staff members is terrible, they will ignore you for weeks and the quality of work that is done to your car is poor. They will try to over charge your insurance company. I recommend that you take before and after pictures of your car because they will deny any damage they do to your car. My husband brought our car for an estimate. All went well. We were having issues with our insurance so decided just to go directly thru the responsible parties insurance. Everyone was in agreement and understood this. My husband went to drop the car off at the appointed date and time and was told he had to pay a deductible. He explained that there was no deductible and realized the advisor was looking at the wrong insurance. The advisor told my husband he was supposed to tell him that. My husband replied I don't work here and it's your responsibility. He left then went back the next day and spoke with the general manager. He was told they had a lot of cars to get out and he would call my husband to make an appoint to return at the beginning of the month. This never happened. My husband Called yesterday left a message and still no call back. We have now chosen a different shop in Hayward and had to contact the insurance to start the claim all over again. Very poor customer service. Not sure about work quality but customer service/communication is awful. read more

Someone had backed into my car while it was parked. Caused a lot of damage. I took it to G&C of Hayward, and I received the highest level of customer service, from the hospitality of Olivia at the front, to Eric, who answered every question I had and kept me updated through out the process. Elmer took care of the paint and got nearly 100% match between the bumper and the hood, even though it is nearly impossible. Hector took care of the body work and I am very happy with it, he also aligned my headlights to perfection. Mike detailed my car to showcar standard. Most importantly, behind every great team, there is a great leader. Shout out to Alex who manages the body shop like clock work, and steps in to help wherever he feels like he is needed. Horrible service especially their manager named Alex. my insurance recommended their shop for repairs. So I gave them a try. I made an appointment, and got there on time. There was another new customer came right in the door that has an appointment 30 minutes after me. We were both waiting then they started to help him instead of me. Then I continue to wait for service for over 15minutes, but did not receive any help. Reason? Unsure. But for any business that has a work ethic like this, I wouldn't want them to work on my car. Above and Beyond! I backed my new Tesla into a friend's brick Mailbox holder and crunched the rear right panel and light, something people thought would cost minimum 15K. Our insurance company forced us to use G&C Auto Body because it's the only body shop in Hayward Tesla certified. Glad they did. Eric, our point of contact oversaw ordering parts, install and reshaping the bent and broken area. We were updated at every turn. It's hard to describe how our expectations have been lowered these past several months, with difficulty hiring good people and navigating broken supply chains. The job G&C did would have had us happy even in the good old days! Great work and they even cleaned the car inside and out. They also managed a tricky insurance situation. Literally took them a month to communicate to me about how they don't do tow services after telling me they would come and pick my car up. and then did not answer my calls a couple of times, on top of that they took a couple days to tell me that their lot was full so they cannot pick up my car, also that they had no internet to get into my State Farm information(on there end)I'm not sure how this company runs but I have had a very confusing and terrible service with them and I do not recommend at all! Not Hayward Body Shop! Poor communication, no willing to work with customers, just a one of a body shop chain churning out cars for the insurance. Asked about replacing the custom parts or OEM on the car, was told no, never even offered to do it with me paying for it. In fact, didn't even have input on the replacement parts, only told that we would like it on the day before delivery or I could "beat the old part back into shape and install it myself" and they are suppose to be the body shop, not me. Definitely not a place to have your car repaired. read more

They were very communicative, timely and even though they didn't offer the service he suggested I add shield to my cat to avoid having the same problem.
