long story short, I have Allstate, made a claim and Allstate told me to go here. Took my SUV and talked to this old gentle man. He looked at my SUV and told me that could not fix and insure it. asked him why, he said some one fixed it before, but the SUV was bought brand new. So i left and called Allstate even they were confused why he could not fix it and after i told them the reason Allstate said that makes no sense. so i took it to another body shop and he said yes, we can fix it. Strange experience at Tommy's yesterday. They have always been my 'Go To' for car repairs so when my front bumper fell off, I thought of them. The two women in the office who really do all the work looked my car over for an estimate and came back saying the whole bumper would have to be replaced. I was flabbergasted since the bumper is in good shape and, to me anyway, just needed new bolts or pins to be good enough. Oh they couldn't guarantee their work without doing it their way. I understand what they say but argued that it would be at a great expense to do it their way. The one man in the office decided to kick me out for questioning their decision. I've done business with them for over 25 years and now I can't imagine going back. It was humiliating and rude. read more

Id give this a 2 star since they worked on our van and had no issues getting it done, was a simple part replacement. Now the minus 3 stars are from my last visit getting our second car needing a repair. I was turn down due to my car being modified and no guarantees on the repair. This to me shows that the owner thinks poorly of the work quality and no enthusiasm or pride on his shop. So... I took my business somewhere else and I'm glad I did. This place was wonderful! Drew & Cecilia were very kind with great customer service. A couple of weeks ago, my car was side swiped as a woman was backing out of a parking spot at Albertsons. Apparently this woman did not have car insurance at the time of the accident and was being difficult with the way we were going to settle this ordeal. Granted, the car wasn't damaged terribly, I did want the car fixed. Car accidents are a huge headache, but it's comforting to know we have places like this to take care of you. Tommy's Auto Body works with AAA Insurance. Almost immediately after giving a statement with my AAA Adjuster, I received a call from Tommy's Auto Body! The following day, I come in for an estimate and a week and a half later, my car is shiny and looking brand new! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE: DON'T COME HERE It started with making a call trying to figure out how setting an appointment works, the first person to answer was not only super agitated to begin with but started raising his voice when I would ask questions in regards to when I could bring in my car. And then I got sent over to another office person which she seemed to be more professional and I had set up my appointment. I had set up an appointment for the main mechanic to take a look at my car to see if the estimate was correct and the office was a little disorganized and also the front desk people did not have updated information from my claim which made it take longer than usual. Once they resolved the issue with insurance the main mechanic asked if I was given the payment to fix my car which I was an then seeing the amount I personally would have to pay he raised his voice "You're willing to spend $2000 on that car!!!??" In at angry tone. Not only that his name is Darren I think (he's a short male with a white beard), but taking a look at my car he immediately started pointing to certain parts on the estimate which did not match the parts he was taking about and saying "this part isn't available and this won't be in stock" as if I was bothering him and he didn't want to do the work. Finally, I made an appointment to bring my car in again and I was supposed to receive a call a week prior to my appointment and the shop did not call once (note that I remembered my appointment) to confirm and later that weekend I called and told them based on my experience with this shop I will be taking me business else where. I will never recommend this place to anyone due to low professionalism and organization and poor customer support. read more

So my 2018 Honda Accord was in an accident it's a turbo charged car so I was really skeptical on who to take it to. On a recommendation I took it to Tommy's auto body and collation initially I took it in for a fender replacement but they found frame damage and additional damage to the vehicle that was not visible. They took really good care of my car and even put me in a rental when the car took longer to fix. Mari Adriana Drew and the rest of the group are great. I don't know the names of all the mechanics who touched my car or everyone in the shop I can just tell you that this is a great place to go if you ever need a good mechanic. I came to them through my insurance, AAA earlier this year. They had confirmed they can see my car right away. But when I took it into the shop, they stated they could not fix the car at that time because they were too busy. I needed to schedule a second appointment for a month later. It felt like they just pulled a fast one on me just to get me into the shop. If I knew in the beginning they could not see my car, I would have take it somewhere else. Before they started the work I asked them to specifically evaluate my hitch because I was hit from the rear. They fixed all the major damage on the car. But they missed part of the hitch/tow electronics . Which I expected them to catch because I asked to them to check it out. They were quick to fix the last part when I pointed it out. Finally, now, I see some exposed wires under my bumper dangling down. I will need to take it back to them to get them to tighten or fasten the wires the way they should be. Just a pain to take time off from work to go back and forth to this place. I think the whole experience could have been better. read more

This auto repair shop is awesome! Someone ran a red light and ran into the side of my car. I was pleased to see that Tommy's auto body made it look like it never happen. They are very honest, reliable and my car was ready when they promised. They even dealt directly with my insurance so it made things less stressful for me. They were very friendly and professional. They really go out of their way to fix the car damage correctly, not cutting corners like some other auto repair shops often do. When i picked up my car I noticed they even washed it in and out. It hasn't looked this good in years! I recently moved to San Jose but if I ever get into another accident i will make the drive to Hayward knowing they are going to do a great job. After my car got hit in east oakland by a car that actually flipped over, AAA named a few places near my house in Hayward and somehow, I decided to bring my car to Tommy's Auto Body. Good thing I did because Drew over at Tommy's did an outstanding job with very little effort on my side. The body work they did made my Honda look just like new and after a couple short weeks, I swung by the shop and picked up a well working vehicle. Really appreciated the professionalism and knowledge. Someone hit my bumper while my car was completely stopped and I had to get it repaired. My car is only 2 months old so you can imagine how absolutely angry I was. I was referred here by my insurance company, AAA. The staff is friendly and they work very quickly. We were in and out of the auto shop in 45 minutes and my car spent 7 days in the shop. Last year, my car fell victim to a massive side swipe attack. It was not a pretty picture. After having finally the case settled with my insurance company, I was given a list of contracted shops. A quick Yelp search made this place an easy choice. My car had numerous pieces that needed to be replaced/fixed, so, from the get-go, I knew this wouldn't be just a 1-2 day sleepover at the shop. I spoke to Jose who gave me a detailed report of everything that was wrong with my poor little car (and man, there was a lot wrong). He also broke down cost, time, etc. He seemed to genuinely care about the state of my car, which felt particularly good considering my insurance company was an absolute pain to deal with. Although my car had to stay in the shop for about two weeks (a partial paint job, side panel replacement, and countless other repairs were to blame), I didn't mind because I was put at ease about the whole thing. These guys know customer service. I got a weekly call for updates on my car, as well as a ride to the shop to pick up my car. Other businesses should take note that excellent customer service will get loyal customers. Oh, and as far as the repairs- my car came back to me looking brand new. These guys are truly KINGS when it comes to autobody work!!! Jose was the first person I had contact with. he was very, very helpful and thorough with explaining what was going to happen with my car, how long it would take, and how he was going to deal with my insurance company. Drew was the nice guy who dealt with my constant questions every time I called. He was patient, kind, and was always very positive and helpful. My car was completed in one week's time, and looked brand new! They had to completely redo the entire drivers side from front to back (including paint), and when I came to get my car, I was shocked at the incredible work. Where to begin... My experience here was great! I came across this place through my AAA insurance. The reason why I even had a claim was because I had cement spotting in some areas of the car paint. (Don't ask me how) it just happened. Anyway from the moment I walked in I was welcomed instantly. The receptionist is very accommodating and had me sign the paperwork for my estimate right away. I will never take my car for repairs at Tommy's again. The owner is a short man that has a big ego. I took my wifes car there for repairs. It was set up with Stephanie. Because it was Geico that was the insurance company of the person who hit my wifes car, he stated someone from Geico must see it first. We know what were doing here. Been doing it a long time now. I did not have a claim number so I called wife at work outside on speaker phone. We walked back in and I was on hold and forgot to take it off speaker, he rudely told me to take it off speaker phone, which I did immediately. He was then talking loud across office to an administrative assistant. Jokingly I said "Excuse can you keep it down, I cant hear this young lady trying to set up this appointment. The owner stood up and said " I'm the owner and this is my shop. Get out I'm not fixing your wifes car". I stated I was just joking. The owner then stated I dont need this today, find another shop. He then scolded me and stated You are rude for having your phone on speaker. I repeatedly apologized and pleaded for them to fix my wifes car. He finally waved his arm and told Stephanie Set it up. Now I have been in customer service most of my life. As a Fire Captain and Paramedic, often we encounter patients or citizens who may be rude or upset or not feeling well. I never treated people unprofessionally or rude. You hear about racism in this country, and as a Hispanic American who has been a lifelong public service, you have to wonder if my race played a role in this matter. This is not the first time I've been talked to negatively by this owner, but had looked the other way. From the beginning, he was negative towards me. At the beginning, he had mentioned about Geico approved shops. I asked Stephanie where there was a Geico approved shop in Hayward. The owner rudely stated " There is one on Industrial. You can go there if you want. It doesnt matter to me. If you dont want to be possibly treated like crap by a mean owner who obviously does not care about customer service I would Avoid Tommy's Body shop in Hayward on Meekland. The owner needs to attend an anger management program and take classes on treating people with fairness dignity and respect. I'm still appalled of the treatment. Not worth the hassle. I took my car to Tommy's after someone almost ripped my bumper off. Their customer service is EXCELLENT. Drew & Jose were great. They had the rental car people their to pick me up when I dropped my car off. They called me to keep me informed of progress on my car. Even though it was only a bumper, German car parts aren't as readily available as some others. Still and all I had my car back in 4 days. Nice and shiny and like someone else stated, they even buffed out some scratches that were already on the vehicle. As well as AAA they are also a preferred provider for Farmers and their work comes with a lifetime guarantee. I hope I never have to use them again but I'd highly recommend them to others. read more

Very poor Customer Service. Although I had an appointment scheduled Drew was not there for my appointment and did not have the courtesy to inform me that his plans have changed. No quote was emailed to me or the insurance the next day, as promised. Two days later I called to find out the status of the quote and Drew was very irritated by the fact that I did not know that he was supposed to get an authorization from the insurance. The insurance was surprised about his statement since they are an approved supplier for repairs. We had a three way calling and the insurance representative was so surprised about Drew's attitude on the phone that he asked me not to go to this Body Shop anymore. Poor Customer Service and bad attitude towards women. I would not be surprised if many of these reviews here are his personal friends. read more

Took such great care of me! Came in on a Monday to fix the bumper of my car, they did a quick consultation and called enterprise for my rental and within 10-15 mins I was signed in & ready to go! They called for additional damages but still finished my car within the promised 3 days.
