One of the best hidden gems when it comes to massages. I've been to a lot of asian massage shops (not the happy ending spots) and this place is by far one of the best, especially in the south of Seattle area. She actually works on the spots that needs it the most. I've gotten the cupping and a 30 min massage, and it's great. There's not a lot places that offers cupping services. For a Saturday, same-day, last-minute bookings are difficult to come by. Luckily, when I called this place, the host was asking me when I wanted to come in. Availability was wide open. Immediately as we walked in we were well greeted and taken straight to our rooms. The ambiance was friendly and soothing. A small business off a corner building not bad for its location, easy to identify. Staff are very friendly. I booked a 30 min cupping session and 1-30 min massage and 1-60 min massage (for husband). The massage itself was ok, I sorta left sore after than I was coming in. I really liked the cupping for it was my first time. Although it wasn't what I thought it would be like. The masseuse stuck the plastic cups on and left them on for a while. That's fine, I just thought eventually they were suppose to use the cups to massage them around you. I guess not, I don't know. But I liked my experience, nevertheless. Overall, I gave 3 stars because although the services were good and the staff were friendly, it wasn't an experience worth driving 30 mins out for. Updated - The manager reached out by responding to my review with scathing attitude saying that I should have communicated what I wanted. The problem is every time I said something, the massage therapist has to run out and get the manager to translate what I said. Imagine paying for relaxation time but being interrupted over and over for your needs to be understood. The bottom line is that these people are overpriced, inexperienced and have no clues what they're doing as far as massage therapy go. There are other places that charge a whole lot less for much better quality work. Because of their tone and attitude in their Yelp response, I will go out of my way to spread the words about my experience. Still deserve 0 star from me! I had high expectations for this place since they got all these great reviews and boy, I was disappointed to say the least. I booked a two hour massage plus cupping and I have never once in my life wishing for it to be over. To start, the conversation in the next room was so loud that I have to ask them to quiet down. I believe the person performed the message was not licensed because she was all over my body for two hours with no focus on anything particular. She kept asking me "ok?" every five minutes to the point where it became irritating because I could not relax. The hot stone portion of the massage was the worst. Practically emptying a whole bottle of oil on my back and lazily pushing the stones around. I paid $190 to leave irritated and my body is still hurting. Never again! read more

I just went there for my first time. I called first to schedule a appointment and they were able to fit me into their schedule. I went in around 12:45 I wanted to get mainly my feet and back massaged. They have a combo deal for 30minfeet/30minsback for $45. So I choose that one the massage was really nice first they had me roll up my pants so they could soak my feet in this little tub for about 5mins the water was a nice warm/hot temp I like it a lot then after she gave my feet a scrub then massage them for about 15mins. After that she dried them and applied lotion and gave them another 10min massage it felt great. (The table was pretty comfy but keep in note that I can somehow manage to fall sleep on anything even the floor) it was long enough for me and I'm 6'2. Now onto the back she first stretched out my arm and just applied pressure on my pressure point with my shirt on for a good 5-10mins. (I think that was to warm up and stretch my muscles) Then she asked for me to take my shirt off then started to give a real tradition massage with oil and also the use of a hot rag at the end. I like the whole experience but also my standards were low going in because I didn't really need anything to advance . I just been having a few back aches and wanted to get a foot massage in the process . I would recommend this place if you need a nice massage/foot massage the lady did a great job and after I gave a $10 tip. read more

Uncomfortable face cradle made relaxing very hard. Even though the staff were friendly and pleasant I didn't feel like I was getting a massage from someone who had been trained in Massage therapy. Excellent spot for a real CMT level Massage. This business used to be about a block away but was displaced due to the fire in the old Heritage Building. New location is easy to find and facilities are nice and clean. Therapists are professional, licensed and will listen to specific needs. After finding this place the first time and now waiting for it to re-open in the new location it is the only one I would go to in the area as I know I will get consistently good service. Came here after experiencing bad pain at my chiropractor visit. I knew it was time for a serious massage. I found this place in Auburn on a deal from Groupon. I was surfing outside the chiropractor and called to see if they had any openings. It was almost 4:45 and I made an appt for 6 pm but when I got there shortly after 5 they were able to see me right away. I showed them my GroupOn on my phone and they handled the transaction immediately. Then my massage therapist lead me to my room. This place was simply but beautifully decorated adorned with roses. The good, the bad, and the ugly of G&E Spa. NOT a good massage! I'm one of those people who travels a lot in my business life and so I've had massages all over the country, and around the world. Some have been incredible, some just good for what you get and then some are just plain not very good. Unfortunately I have to rate G&E Spa in the last group, just plain not very good. That is the "bad" in my review. The "good" part of my review is the people and the place itself. The people are very pleasant, they speak good English, which is rare for most of these types of places and the place itself is very clean. Though the rooms are quite small they are clean and nicely decorated. The massage itself really more of a "let me place my hands on your body and slide them all over very lightly" type of situation. No pressure where pressure is needed to accomplish what a massage is supposed to do, relieve stress and tension in the body. I was relaxed and ready for a wonderful massage after reading all the great reviews but it never came about. The masseuse was very professional and attentive but she is obviously not a "trained" or "licensed" masseuse as she really has no idea where to find the knots and tension that needs to be worked on. The "ugly" part of my review is the price. When I called to make my appointment I was told that a body scrub after the $60 massage was included but when I arrived it all of a sudden became a $100 massage because they charge $40 extra for a half hour body scrub. Okay, I'll take the chance it's a great massage and pay the tab, but it was not very good at all. Sorry, it just wasn't a massage, it was a "run my hands over your body like I know what I'm doing" kind of thing. If you want a real massage at a lower price and you want to get some relief from pain and stress, look elsewhere as there are many places with truly trained, schooled and licensed masseuse's who can help you in those areas. If you are looking for a "happy ending" kind of place this is also not your place to go. These are really nice people who work hard to make a living but they are just not trained well so you will not get the therapeutic massage you may want. read more

I've had two massages here -- April and July 2015 -- from two different masseuses. Both were excellent, completely overshadowing the local "Asian Massage Spa" competition in many crucial categories: communication in English, willingness to tailor treatment to my specific injuries (shoulder, lower back), explanation of what was going on, appropriate pressure, and techniques that actually made me feel better. Even the decor (which I normally don't care about) was nice; the room was large enough for the masseuse to move around, the table was large enough for me (6'2"), and they even have an interesting seashell 3D art piece that you can look at through the hole of the face cushion! Here are some unpleasant things that I did NOT observe at G&E Spa (but that did happen to me at other "Asian massage" spas in Renton / Auburn / Federal Way): - wheedling for larger tips (I almost always tip $20 for an hour, because that's what I would want); - saying "Yes" when a question was not understood; - pressure to extend the session; - declaring the session "Finished" as much as 10 minutes early. Considering how much better they are than some other massage places I've been, I'm amazed that they only charge the same $60 per hour that seems to be more or less the standard rate around here. I only wish they were a bit closer to my house. They are in the same parking lot as Safeway on Auburn Way, which means that parking is easy; and they are open something like 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. read more
