I have been coming to this salon for about a year now and it never disappoints!! David is my stylist; he is so sweet, patient and he gives me exactly what I want every time. The salon is very clean, always smells amazing, and is peaceful. The entire staff is very kind. I'm highly sensitive to attitude and I've never gotten any from anyone here. The hot tea is also delicious; I'm an addict. There are some reviews that mention adding on services or products which increase cost. If you are concerned with pricing, my best recommendation is to ask your stylist for the all in total before your service. If a product or service is offered to you during your service, ask if there's an additional charge for it. If you don't refuse the service or product then it's assumed that you are in agreement. I choose to believe that my stylist wants the best for my hair instead of believing he is trying to get more money out of me. This salon was recommended to me by a friend so I decided to give it a go. Her normal stylist is EM and her hair always looks fab. I made an appointment online for full highlights and the Soko was the stylist that was available. When I was done my hair looked good. Which is why I am giving this a three star review. What I want to warn people about is to find out what the stylist plans to do to your hair upfront and the price. I was fully prepared to pay the $170 for the highlights. However, I was also charged $75 for a trim, this in my experience usually comes with a dye job, and I probably would not complain, except $75 for a nothing special cut that my mother could have done is outright robbery. I was also informed, when I was getting my high dried that I was not only being charged for the haircut, but also a special toner treatment that I didn't ask for or want. If you have to give me an intense toner treatment, I assume you messed up my hair at some point and made it brassy. That is not on me as the customer, but on you as the senior stylist. I felt a little duped and shell shocked at the cash register. I will not be coming back to this salon and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I am friends with. I informed my friend that this happened and she thought it was a little insane too. She normally pays $150 with tip when it's all said and done for a partial highlight and trim. So while this experience hasn't happened to everyone, I just wanted to make others aware what could happen if you frequent this establishment. read more

I have been going to G Aveda for a few months now and have had three appointments so far. Each time David has been incredibly kind, gentle with me and has given life back to my hair. He has the sweetest disposition as do the front desk ladies. Now to the services: my first time there was for hair color. I received a beautiful head massage along with a short but lovely face massage with botanical Oils that relaxed me to my core. I enjoyed the massage chair as David worked his magic at the wash basin. The price for all of this was less than my last place I went to and with so much more pampering!! The atmosphere is so relaxing. You are served cold water and their special hot tea as well. I called to make an appointment for a haircut as a first time client and I kept getting hung up on, so I figured I would go in in person and make the appointment after my yoga class . June 13 today is my birthday and so I decided to get a haircut and confirm the time and day with the receptionist the day before . I just walked in and they say they don't have my appointment and it's booked for June 14 . They need to fire their receptionist as they are losing money because of the lack of communication . I was a bit stressed and her calming personality and super service really helped me relax! Really pleasant and personable and still professional at a very high-level! I found out she has five different beauty licenses so she does facials and waxing and hair etc. The salon itself is beautiful and I forget how much I love all of the Aveda scents in the air! By the end of my appointment, my stress was gone and I was sipping on several cups of that yummy Aveda tea! my experiences this salon left me traumatized and in tears. I went 2 weeks ago to get highlights. 9/27/24. I've been getting highlights for over 20 years but recently moved and this was my first time with a new salon. I chose Aveda because of their excellent reputation nationally. My stylist was Em. My appointment was at noon. The appointment started off fine. I showed her photographs of what I was looking for and the consultation was good. Once she took the foils off and applied the toner I had dark brown hair. This was the absolute opposite of what I asked for. She seemed as surprised about this as I was. This was THREE hours into the appointment. She took me to the bowl and I was at the bowl for another 1.5 hours while she tried to correct the colour.....at one point she was lifting strands and "painting" bleach onto them. I told her I was getting very anxious at this point. Once back at the chair she removed the towel and revealed bright orange hair. There was then a bit of panic with another stylist coming over to give her opinion. After 10 minutes both then left the chair area and then Em came back witch her phone and said it was the salon manager Karen. Karen told me she was going to try to get someone to come in the next day on her day off. Em still hadn't come back over at this point. I got up to look for someone to help me. I was in tears at this point. A male stylist at the next station was very kind and asked me if I wanted a cup of tea and offered to dry off my hair. I declined Em still no where to be seen at this point. I walked around to the reception area to find Em, the other stylist and the receptionist there. I asked how was this ok? How did this happen?? No answers. I drove home in tears with wet, orange hair. Karen called and said i should come back the next day at 4pm to another stylist, Soko. She was lovely and she tried her very best to fix it but I left after another 3.5 hours with, thankfully not orange hair, but very yellow hair. So after 8.5 hours I had very over processed, damaged, yellow hair. The sad thing about the 2nd visit was that Em clearly saw me there and didn't even acknowledge me, never mind come and see how my hair was. Extremely unprofessional!!!!! The salon manager and the 2nd stylist, Soko were trying their best to fix the situation but I would absolutely not recommend this salon. it was without a doubt the most distressing hairdresser visit I've ever had. I do not usually post reviews, but I'd hate to have this happen to someone else. read more
