This was the first time I've ever cracked the screen on my phone. Looked up quite a few different repair shops and I was seeing $150 just to fix the screen. At that price point, I would have bought a new phone since my phone is at least 2 years old. However, decided to give G-cell a try since they were close to my house and also had a Groupon for fixing the screen for $65! Got to the shop around 2:30 on a sunday. A note on the location they are in the mall near the Burlington Coat Factory and Game On. The lady taking my phone was courteous and gave me a time estimate of 2 hours. When I mentioned the groupon, she said her slots were full but I could come back tomorrow. Regular price is $85. Upon seeing my hesitation, she was nice enough to give me $10 off. She then tested all the functions on the phone to make sure the LCD was working properly. I left my phone and came back around 4:30. Phone was ready and screen looked perfect. She tested all the functions in front of me again. Also installed the glass screen protector you get for checking in. We started chatting about Asian supermarkets while I waited for her to install it and I found out she's the owner. They have a 30 day warranty too for any non accidental issues on their workmanship. I had dropped my iPhone a week ago for the first time since I bought it and cracked my screen, since I was in the area visiting my family and checked that G-Cell had great reviews for fixing screens, I decided to check them out instead of paying $130+ in Apple. Granted this wasn't the first time I went to providers that offered screen repairs, since I had dropped my previous phone a few times and helped my family with their phones. I called in and found out it was by appointment, so I made one. When I stopped by they asked to see my phone, then they asked for my passcode. All the providers that had fixed my old phone never asked for my passcode, why would they since they only fixed the screen and checked if it worked when I came in for pick up. That made me iffy on why they would need that information. But this was G-Cell, maybe they fix screens differently? They told me it would take an hour for the process to be done. After an hour I came back, they made me wait about 20-30 more minutes, when they brought my phone out it looked in great condition, they offered to put in a tempered glass protecter for only $10 more. I said why the heck not? I left happy. The following day however, while using my phone, the screen started turning lighter and lighter until I could barely read my screen. I tried restarting it a couple of times but it did nothing. This never had happen to my phone before I went in to get it checked at G-Cell. I went to Apple the day after to find out if they could do anything to fix the problem that it might have internally. After checking the problem, Apple told me there were missing components inside my phone. Missing components. And some components were replaced with lesser valued/weaker components to make the iPhone work. Let me repeat, I have not gone to a provider to change my phone or screen since I bought this phone a few months ago. This was the first time I changed the screen and I come to find that G-Cell took some OTHER parts and replaced SOME of them while they fixed my screen. Stuff that didn't even need to be taken care of. In the end I had to pay for a replacement phone from Apple because G-Cell took components that didn't even need to be taken care of for a CRACKED SCREEN. Don't trust G-Cell, the reason they provide inexpensive service is because they scam you into robbing you. read more

Although Android is not there specialty they were able to fix internet connectivity issue for one phone on their lunch break. For the other phone, they walked me over to their competitor and helped me find an adapter to power up my Android phone. Same day service and they are bilingual. Quickest way in through Spanish market side. Once you arrive towards main shopping stores take a right, first door next to men's haircut. They do not buy phones or crack iPhones. read more

Went in for a screen repair on 3/17. Great customer service!. We went in without an appointment (didn't know We needed one) but they were helpful and take care of my needs anyways. In and out in 30 minutes. The place is located inside a mall. We got a deal on Groupon to get the iPhone 7 screen replace ($71 with the 20% off local deal). The owner said he would honored the price for next time, even if we didn't have the Groupon, which is awesome. He also gave us both free templates glass for the phone. Definitely recommending this place. Additional information: screen replacement for iPhone 7 at the Apple Store is $130 before tax. And $175 deductible fee if you have insurance with T-Mobile. (Makes no sense, been paying for insurance monthly, and they can't even take care of a screen replacement without charging a high fee) read more

SERVICE I had my Samsung Galaxy 4 repaired here! I spent the two hours waiting in the store and they had a lot of customers. Their prices are really low and the services is really good, too. They speak both Spanish and English and work phones and tablets. PRICE I went to Dr. Cell Phone first and they tried to charge me $250... The receptionist told me that it would be $150 for cracked screen repair but if they accidentally break my LCD screen, it would be $250 instead. I have been back since my last post- because unfortunately I dropped my phone again. The screen they put on it is time had a tiny speck of dust from the inside (it was barely noticeable, only on a white screen and if you looked super close. This can happen since they don't put the screens together in a "particle free" area like the factories where iPhones are put together) Anyway they put a different screen on it free of charge. Stupidly I broke my G2 cell phone twice... and visited twice in a row within a week. Location: First of all, you have to be careful to find this shop. Your car navigation may lead you a wierd location (a big parking lot maybe...) but that's right. You can find the shop inside of the mall. My experience: Based on my two times repair, they are very kind and fast. Compared to the other repair shops, their price is fair and affordable. The repair quality was okay but not perfect. (I can see a small finger print inside of my LCD panel, but it is not visible when the LCD panel turns on.) Personally, I would recommend this shop. read more

I did extensive research to find a place that would repair my iPhone 6 for a reasonable place. Most places charge $100+ even after negotiating. I found a Groupon for $58 that was competitive with other locations but had the best, most consistent reviews. I called this morning to make an appointment and found the location easy to find. The owners are very very courteous and accommodating and had my phone ready in an hour. They tested my phone and audio prior and afterwards to ensure a quality repair (must mention that the materials they use are quality as well!) They even swapped the grill on my speaker because it was dirty and my sound was muffled. I also bought the tempered glass. So happy I decided to bring my phone here! Did you drop your phone (100 times) and break (shatter??) your screen and even your camera lens?? Then go see Tyler at G-Cell. He and the team there are great, and he's incredibly friendly. I went in with a Groupon, but they'll give you the Groupon price even without the actual Groupon if you mention it. The work they did was incredible--my phone looks and feels new again, and the pictures it's taking are so good! One thing to note--it's in the PlazAmericas Shopping Center, and it could definitely be difficult to find. Very happy with the screen repair of my iPhone 5s. When looking for a place to fix my phone this one had the best reviews on Yelp, and I'm glad I chose it. I tried calling multiple times to make an appointment but nobody answered the phone, after trying for about 30 min, they answer and they had availability the same day. I stopped by about an hour after calling and they were very friendly. It took them about 15min to repair my phone. They did an awesome job, it looks like new and it works perfectly! I went to G-Cell to replace a broken digitizer on my Motorola Moto G. While the staff was very friendly and apologetic, they told me that they could not get parts for 'new Motorola phones'. I'm not sure who they source parts from but doing a very cursory google search finds a lot of digitizers for this phone on the market. I realize that the Apple and Samsung fan boys now dominate the market but the Moto G isn't exactly a 'rare' phone, they should be able to get the parts even if they don't stock them. read more

Took a little longer than they quoted me, but these guys are HONEST. They are not in the business in ripping you off and most importantly, they do QUALITY work. I was nervous at first due to the fact its in Sharpstown, but these guys are the best in town. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE! 3 other places were going to charge me $180 - $299 to fix my broken glass on my Note II. The other places said that I had to get the glass and digitizer fixed. I recently got my screen repaired here on my iPhone 6! I was very satisfied with the quality and how quick they work! It took about 20-30 minutes on a Thursday afternoon. This is the second time I fixed the screen and I should have come here the first time. The guy fixed it and also put a tempered glass on it for me. I have not had one issue since I went to G Cell! If you are looking to use this place I highly recommend them speaking from someone who has felt with some shady cell phone repair men! (The first repair place I dealt with took 4 hours and left a air bubble under my screen and then told me I shouldn't put tempered glass on it because it would be to thick, well that's was because they used very cheap thick replacement glass.) read more

The quote was very favorable, compared to other companies that I checked with in the immediate area. I had researched and watched a few videos that showed the steps involved in repairing my phone. I brought my ipad here to have my screen repaired. He promised later that day, I said to just keep it and ill come back tomorrow. Later that evening around 8pm, I received a call from a young lady that asked me if I knew about my power button not working. Um no...The ipad works perfectly, and has never had a problem....Just a cracked screen....She said she wanted to let me know before they started working on it so that there's no liability on their end...Ok well first of all when I brought it in to drop off, I showed them the power button working, it was Off,and i turned it On for the guy, right in front of him! Complete BS! But I was desperate for a repair, so I told to go ahead and replace the screen. I came to pick it up the next day and immediately noticed my screen was jumping around by itself....when I opened/closed an app, the app would jump up/down and the screen would flash between apps...it was going nuts. The guy, a different one (white guy), said it's probably the digitizer and needs to be adjusted....so I waited...and they fixed it and it seemed fine....but I noticed when I move my ipad around, the home screen moves too, similar to a compass....it was weird, so basically they messed that up too. And in some areas on the ipad screen it clicks when pressed, like the glass isn't fully attached....Horrible! My corners were dented from previous drops, and I think they hammered that out to put in the new screen...I think during this process they jacked up my power button. Plus now that they broke my power button, I have to use a manual off/on function on my ipad....how inconvenient!! Anyway they promised a 30 day guarantee, well it's been past that and yesterday my ipad started jittering around again...not stable....basically it's f**cked. I'm so livid right now.....Not only did they accuse my ipad of already being broken but they couldn't even fixed it correctly...Turns out the only reason why their fee is so cheap is because they don't install the new glass with a new digitizer.............they only replaced the glass by itself (hence the cheap price) and RE-USED the existing digitizer, this is an extremely difficult task to complete, because the digitizer attaches to the glass, and if not done properly it messes up and doesn't work properly....any place that charges twice as much is a good indicator that they're doing it right because the price will include both parts (Glass and Digitizer). so basically you GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! the thing that irks me is their integrity of how they fix things, and also their lack of honesty in saying that my button was broken, when we all know they're the ones responsible. DONT EVER GO HERE. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND PAY THE EXTRA DOUGH TO GO ELSEWHERE. Plus driving to this stupid location in this questionable area doesn't help either.... read more

This place was the most economical I could find in all of Houston. It was a little hard for me to find because I am usually not in that area. (I didn't feel the safest but it wouldn't keep me from using them again.) I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and I dropped it and cracked the screen. Every where else I called wanted to charge me up to $200. Really? With my insurance it's only $99...I refuse to pay someone $200. These guys charged me $75!!! That's right...$75!!! Like new. So far so good. Their little store/shop is clean and the white guy that helped me was very nice. Even on the phone when you call they are very nice and helpful. They were able to do it in a little over an hour. Not too bad. There really weren't a lot of people there but I few did come in and out. The only reason they are not getting 5 stars is because I asked them specifically if they would need to get into my phone for any reason and they told me NO. I have my phone with a passcode like 99% of the people that own a cell to keep my personal data private. I was VERY upset when my phone was done and the white guy was switching my screens with the swipe of his finger! He was obviously trying to show me that the new screen worked, but I can't help but feel like my privacy was invaded. I specifically asked him if they would need to get into my phone. He said no because they don't do anything with the hard drive, just the screen removal. What an invasion of privacy. They NEED to disclose that to their customers when they leave their phones to be repaired. Some of us work for private corporations where our email has sensitive information. Not to mention other things. They obviously have a way to bypass your passcode and access everything on your phone. If you have ultra sensitive information I would NOT let them fix it or I would delete everything from my phone or remove the sim/sd card from phone. When I asked the white guy how they got into my phone and why it was that they felt like they had to bypass my pass code instead of just waiting for me to put my code in so we could check it, he had nothing to say. He looked at me like a deer in some headlights almost surprised that I brought it up. I am guessing no one has said anything before. I think that was VERY DISHONEST of them to do that. Writing about this intrusion of my privacy is only making me upset all over again so I will just stop. Over all they did do a good job at an unbeatable price. Would I ever use them again and recommend them? Of course! But I will also warn people to delete personal data from their phones, as I will do the same the next time I need their help. They did piss me off by being dishonest and bypassing my security code but overall they were nice and did a good job. read more

I only paid $43. 00 and my phone works and looks perfect. I didn't get her name but the lady at the front was really nice. The Area is a bit sketchy. I've driven by this shopping center more times that I can remember but this was the first time in my 16/17 years of living in Houston that I've actually gone inside. I had my nexus 5 in my back pocket like I always do. I got out of my car and it just dropped on the cement and cracked my screen. It was a sad day LOL. Googled a whole bunch of cell repair replaces and they all charged about 175 or more. Found this place on yelp and saw that most reviews were pretty good so I decided to give it a go. The lady there who I am assuming is Gedzel was very nice and welcoming. She told me it would be 120 for the repair. A tad bit pricey but you pay for what you get and I'll pay it for a good job, Gedzel said it would be ready by like 4:30. I went to go eat and came back but the phone was still not done so we just walked around the mall and then sat in the store for a bit and talked with her. Got my phone back and it was like brand new.
