It's so hard to find a trustworthy, efficient, and licensed electrician in New York City (NYC)…read morebecause the aggregated list for the public hasn't been updated since 2021 and the database shows mostly those who seem to target commercial clients. Moreover, most general or home improvement contractors seem to be installing outlets without revealing their license number or having one active to submit permits, which are required for new wiring installations. After calling for days and requesting quotes with on-site assessments, ranging from market rate to thrice the price (for outsourcing to licensed electricians), I found a gem in less than a week! Most licensed electricians didn't even bother picking up or ensure all their licenses were active, but the CEO (John) was happy to help. He preferred to assess our cellar on-site amidst his busy schedule with ~492 permitted jobs (94% businesses with 6% residential clients) over the last six years. Based on pictures of our cellar, he texted the specific links to the parts that we needed for all scenarios to install a 220 volt power outlet for our electric dryer because we didn't know whether we'd use surface mount or recessed box. Moreover, his rates for labor were competitive without marking up the price for anything, even when he offered to pick up special order items at cost when we couldn't find them at stores that either didn't have these items in stock or the expertise to find exactly what we specified with the SKU numbers. Most electricians seemed to mark-up pricing to compensate for time and profit, but John empathized from the get-go in trying to save us money, time, and paperwork. His team was the most efficient by scheduling the job in two days with the option of completing the work first thing in the morning or after his other project. Moreover, he sent a competitive quote within the same day and caught key issues, ranging from using a four prong 30 amp power cord to solid metal clad cables, for compliance with building codes that other contractors and vendors missed or failed to mention. He was the only one to explain the different types of permits that helped us learn and decide with an informed decision on how to maximize our return on investment with peace of mind for home insurance to cover any unforeseen issue, ranging from fuse blowouts to fires. Despite traffic from the rain, his electrician arrived 10 minutes early and was informative, resourceful, and efficient in installing our 220 volt power outlet in two of the three hours budgeted, which was faster and cheaper than what other contractors quoted. Radomyr also rescued us by helping move the electric dryer through two sets of doors that needed to be unhinged with his helpful set of tools and even found a missing bracket in his truck that the stores forgot to include from our shopping list. We learned so much from a multi-tasking electrician on how our upgraded electrical panel works and what to watch out for, ranging from rationales for why others do what they do to areas for reinforcing the wooden beams when running the cables across our ceiling. He chose the shortest distance and left us the unused wire for future use. I wouldn't hesitate to hire this company again for work in the future when we're ready to renovate the cellar. J A Lee doesn't just stand for the name of the owner, but also represents, "Just Ask Licensed, Extraordinary Electricians!" Unlike in Canada where the government vets electricians to prevent shady contractors from taking advantage of senior citizens, we lucked out with John and his helpful crew of good samaritans to get our job done in a quick, affordable, and reliable manner!

I was given Peter Lombardo's contact information from a colleague who recently hired him to install…read morean emergency generator. He was described to me as a "straight-shooter" - and I found this to be a spot-on description. On my initial call Peter was able to guess-timate my needs (I also wanted installation of an emergency generator for the home) and what it would approximately cost for equipment and labor. If I was comfortable with proceeding he would come out to inspect the property and provide me a more detailed recommendation. He did not waste anytime and showed up as promised. After evaluating the gas and electrical setup in the house he provided me with a written estimate and directed me where to purchase the necessary generator (walked me through it). He explained the process from start to finish and was always available for questions and concerns. On the day of install his team arrived on time, very courteous and cleaned up after themselves. He worked well with the plumber (I guess he had to..it was his brother! also a true professional and gem to work with!). At the end of the job payment was exactly as estimated and time to complete on schedule. He even referred me to a service to ensure properly scheduled maintenance. Bottom line- I was impressed with his professionalism and will no doubt be contracting him for future electrical work.

I called today, 9/20/18, spoke to Mike Lombardo, who expedited a service call to my house. What I appreciate was that Mike went out of his way to look for an opening (after initally telling me that I would have to wait a few weeks for an appointment as they were booked solid.) When something opened up today, he called me and voila! Chris and Clyde showed up and did the work.
