Terrible customer service and bad quality . I have bought A bed in March 2015 and it broke the same week. It's August and they still haven't been able to fix it. This place is the most horrible place to buy furniture. I made a purchase during the month of October, 2012 and now we're close to the month of Feb, 2013 and I still have not received the rest of my purchased items ( 2 lamps). Like many have experienced I too was blinded by cheap prices and kindness before handing over my money, then everything changed. Each time I called them about the rest of my purchase, they tell me tomorrow, next week but yet to deliver. These people are very unprofessional, rude and behave like con artists. This store is a garbage! The owner is a cruck and a layer! He is so nice with you before you put the deposit for the furniture. As soon as he gets it he changes. Doesn't deliver on time (it took about a month and half to deliver the sofa bed although he promised to deliver in 2 weeks), sends wrong item ( sent different color of the sofa) and after demanding to exchange or return the money refers to the recite what says NO EXCHANGE OR RETURN of the item and deposit. So, you should be very very careful before putting the deposit with this guy, DON"T make the mistake which I made not checking the recite and not getting into the details before leaving the store. Very very BAD EXPERIENCE with this guy. Will NEVER AGAIN BUY SOMETHING in this GARBAGE STORE and wouldn't recommend someone to buy there. read more

Horrible time frame you pay on-site and get your stuff 2 weeks later, they raised the price on me after we agreed and i paid by saying " oh this isn't available it's gonna cost more if you want it or u Pico something else and u wait another 2 weeks " they are so bad with timing , delivery guys and lack of customer service interactions. I would not recommend to anyone!!! went to Ashleys across the street and they claimed to have the same furniture and better prices. In a way this is true... But their customer service is abysmal. Additionally they promise to deliver in a few days and they never follow up with you. You need to be on their back if you ever want to see the furniture. Lastly, unless you know exactly what you want and what other department stores are selling it for and you demand a better price than that, you will not get a good deal here. They will hustle you and sell you knock off furniture for an above honest price. They also try to sneak in charges after you have put down money on your credit card. We agreed on 300 for a coffee table and tv stand and delivery... and when I called to follow up, they said the 300 did not include delivery and I needed to pay an extra 75! They also said it was too late to cancel because they already had a delivery on the way... Well that was two weeks ago and I still have not gotten my furniture. read more

My wife and I walked into this furniture store as we were looking for a sleeper sofa and a recliner. Joe showed us what he had and showed us a couple of catalogs to look at. We were surprised at the low prices and the fact he offered us free delivery because of our close address. So we went ahead and picked out a couple of items and he gave us a date the items would be delivered. I didn't quite have enough cash on hand and he told us it would be no problem to come in the next day with the rest of the money. So that night we started reading reviews here on Yelp and started to get a little worried. The next day I brought Joe the rest of the money and talked to him about our concerns. He said he understood and told me to keep the rest of the payment and to pay upon delivery. Well, the furniture was delivered today, a day earlier than expected and I must say we are very happy with our choice and will definitely do business with him again. read more

so like some of you here, i was looking for a sofa and chair at across the street, ashley home center, saw something that we liked, but price was about $1900 after 25% discount and tax. the sales guy was ok, but kept on trying to lure us to buy the set and do the financing, kinda annoying and got me feeling a little uncomfortable. me and my wife walked out, then this guy approach us and asked if we're looking for some furniture, he gave us a flyer and said the store is down the block. i took the flyer but went across the street to check out GK dept instead. this sales guy went out the door and asked if we're looking some furniture, we walked in and saw the sofa we wanted, but in different color. we asked how much, and he said $650, that is half from what was listed on across the street. i asked about getting the chair as well, he quoted $1275 for both. we were kinda skeptical about the low price and crappy store condition, and we weren't ready to buy that day. 2 days later we decided to make the gamble, despite the negative reviews on yelp and another site. i went over on tuesday evening and tried to order it, but the sales guy i spoke with that day wasn't there, so this other guy in glasses assisted me. i asked if they could do better on the price, and he called somebody and gave me a little bit more off. i was about to give him $100 deposit, but then he said i will have to pay half the final price in cash. i explained to him that the other sales guy said i only need to pay $100, so had a little argument with him and asked him to call his boss, he did and came back to me and say they need $200, and i'll have to pay the balance before the delivery guys bring it into my house. i was ok with that, and he proceed to write me that sales receipt, it was so un-professional. he only wrote quantity "1" and "sofa" on the description, i was like wth is that. i am paying for a chair and sofa, 2 pieces together. after two requests, he then wrote 1 chair and 1 sofa, but didn't specify it was the ashley brand. i was still not 100% satisfied with the sales receipt, but i took the gamble anyway. so then i asked him when they could deliver on friday, he said he don't know, he said their driver will call me 30mins before delivery. i didn't like this answer from him, but whatever. so, after 3 days of worry, friday came. i was gonna call him in the morning, but totally forgot cuz i was kinda busy at work. to my surprise, their driver called me around 12noon and said they'll be there within an hour. they came on time and helped brought it upstairs to the 2nd floor. my wife didn't ask them to unpack and install the legs, cuz our apt was still a little messy. up until today, i was able to unpack and install it, i was a happy camper. the product is genuine ashley. it looks and feel the same as the one at the ashley home center, there was nothing to suspect of it being fake. the reason why i gave it 4 starts out of 5 is because the service at the store wasn't very professional. one person said something and the other said something else. so do i recommend others to buy from this store? i won't tell you a yes or no, just read my experience above and decide on your own. i believe some reviews here are true and some are not-so-true, but i guess i just got lucky on this purchase. good luck to anyone buying from place. read more

WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!! At first "joe" was ideal, he helped us pick out what we wanted, keep in mind I was furnishing an entire apartment so I needed the best deals I can find! He knew I had under a week to do so because that's all I had taken off of work. He told me they would deliver on Monday I said no we can do Tuesday, so Tuesday with no call from them I called them and they told me they wasn't delivering till Wednesday followed by me being hung up on. So now Wednesday with an apology I got half my order and my daughters bed was the incorrect color so they had to take that back which they said they would deliver Thursday at about 12pm so today is Thursday again no call so I called them and I was told they will not be delivering her bed and I can go pick it up if I want. Yes it turned in to a shouting match because now I feel like they are playing childish games after I paid for delivery so now I have to wait till they feel like delivering the other half of my bed as well as my daughters bed. I agree 100% with every terrible review of this place. DO NOT SHOP HERE. This guy Joe has absolutely no clue how to talk to people and not to mention is the driest, most non-personality having man I have ever met. He has no idea of customer service and no clue how to run a furniture store. I ordered a rug and nightstand from him on Friday he said it would be there Monday. Called Monday, he said will be there tomorrow. Called Tuesday, he said tomorrow. Called Wednesday, he said Sunday. By this time I'm quite annoyed. Call Monday and he said "100% the rug will be there tomorrow and I have the nightstand in my store now." I gave him an extra day and came on WEDNESDAY, and what does he say? "Rug will come tomorrow". I asked about the nightstand? "Its in my warehouse." I had a shouting match with him in the middle of the store in front of everybody. Do not deal with this man or this store, EVER. read more

We purchased a few pieces of furniture at G.K. Department Stores, two of which were the same items. At the moment of the sales, the manager/owner appeared to nice. But don't be tricked by his fake nice. After the sales, he issued a handwritten invoice/receipt - looked very unprofessional and informal. We checked the invoice and it appeared to be ok. At the day of the delivery, he only delivered one of the two same items, and then we realized he tricked us by only stating Quantity 1 on that piece of furniture. We called many times and even went to his store. He simply denied that we ordered 2 pieces of the same items. Not just that, he was extremely rude and unprofessional - literally pushed us out of the store by force. This manager/owner is dishonest, and this store is simply a ripoff. Think carefully before you buy there. We eventually paid same as or even more than those in Ashley Home Store. I can't believe NYC and NYS still allow this kind of dishonest ripoff business on the market. If there were zero score, I would give them 0. read more

This place deserves a negative 5 stars! Guy in the store seemed very friendly even helpful to get us a good deal on the pieces we looked at. But they give u a delivery date and do not deliver it on time. Tomorrow they say. Prices are cheap but beware do not buy from them when my purchase was finally delivered furniture was broken. When I buy something new I expect it to be in good condition, don't we all. You are def better off going to different place not worth the hassle and headache. Let's see what lame excuse they give me as to why pieces came all jacked up. Looks like it was on display in a store for a long time. Bottom line save some money and buy something that's worth it. They also have no customer service skills. Worst part of it all I haven't received the other part of my order Im scared to see what it's going to look like. Please learn from me do not shop here I wish I could take this all back. Make sure u read the return policy cause apparently they don't take anything back they don't responsibility for the garbage they sell. I don't know how they are still in business. read more
