I had a lot of fun at the Ft. Lauderdale Day of the Dead Festival in Ft. Lauderdale but I couldn't deal with the crowds at the food trucks. I was craving a burrito but I was also really tired. I looked on Yelp to see if maybe there was someplace I could go close to home for takeout and La Rural popped up less than a mile from where I live! They just opened and even though I shop in this plaza all the time I didn't notice them at this end. La Rural Mexican Grill is a small chain of fast, casual service restaurants. They have one in Weston and are working on opening one in Davie, They focus on serving healthy and tasty burritos, salads, bowls, nachos, tacos, and quesadillas made with fresh produce, and locally sourced ingredients. You pick a protein, chicken. steak, ground beef, or tofu and add your rice beans, vegetables, and sauces. Everything is customizable and can be made vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free. I thought the prices were very reasonable. You can easily take your meal to go but they had a number of tables to eat at inside the spotless restaurant. For my meal I had one of their monster sized steak burritos made just the way I like it. Every ingredient was perfectly seasoned. The steak was very tender. One of my pet peeves is when you get hard rice in your burrito and everything here was so fresh and tasty. I also ordered a bag of their delicious chips with a side of queso. With everything I ordered I could only finish half of the burrito, it was that big I am so happy they opened in my hood. I work two jobs and some nights I am so wiped out and famished and this is going to be a life saver. We didn't have anything like this in South Creek. The owners were on hand and were so nice. I hope everyone comes out and supports them. The staff at my school is always looking for a quick meal and I am going to pass this place om to them. I love it that much. I know they will be seeing a lot of me.

I am so happy that this cute little Mexican place opened up a mile from my home. Leaving the gym and saw that this place had just opened up so I decided to stop in and check it out, so happy that I did. Great service and excellent food. I had three hard ground beef tacos that were excellent, they have a very good variety of toppings. I also had the chips and queso which was very good. My husband had a delicious chicken burrito that he loved, and my husband is very picky. I will definitely recommend this place and come back! Highly recommend!

The La Rural Mexican Grill in Coconut Creek, from the same folks that brought you La Rural Argentinian Steakhouse in Weston (and with a previous attempt in Parkland). The pilot location is also in Weston; this is their second store. It's a carbon copy of Chipotle, with the typical choose your bowl/burrito/taco/quesadilla, pick your protein (chicken, veg, Tofu, Steak, Pork Carnitas) and pick your toppings QSR formula. Qualitatively I would have to say it is closer to what Chipotle was when it first opened, and the smaller scale of the operation makes the food less institutional. They claim to buy from local suppliers; I don't know if that translates necessarily to a better product. It's decent for what it is, an $11 steak bowl. I'm not sure if I would go as far as to call it "Mexican," as this is highly derivative Tex-Mex made by an Argentinian-owned company. I wouldn't necessarily travel for it, it's a sleepy shopping plaza with not much else around there, but if you worked in this area, it wouldn't be a bad lunch choice.

I was recommended this restaurant by someone who read one of my reviews. Open only 10 days, they have yet to have their grand opening. Keep your eyes posted. The food here is fresh made right down to the pinto beans. No canned items here. I ordered a "build-it-as-you-like monster burrito which, quite frankly, I thought they would never get rolled up. I highly recommend La Rural for that Mexican food craving we all get.

This awesome person recommended this place to me. I had to check them out. The food is super fresh. Very much like Chipotle but I feel like their ingredients is more fresh. The service was quick and the place was clean. My only negative I wish my burrito was bigger. That might me because I'm use to chipotle portion size Should you go? Yes!

We went here between January 27 & February 6/2026. La Potranca has five Florida locations, but this cantina does not feel like a chain. Authentic sabor Mexicano with an excellent friendly staff. Family friendly & handi-able accesible from the parking lot. This location gets full by 7pm but there is extended service & seating in the common covered courtyard. Plenty of parking in this strip mall location. Service is excellent, fast, & great choices of tacos & drinks. You can choose from 14 different meats/cuts for your tacos, including birria & al pastor. Bow to the taco! Also gringas, vampiros, & burritos. They have bowls (they're BIG) & brunch. p.s. try the churros with 3 dipping sauces. Drinks are extra special here. The clamato & beer cocktail is very unique. Served in a Tajin rimmed large mug, with lime & a tamarind wrapped straw. Excellante! Also a variety of margaritas served in whimsical glasses & their three house cervazas (beers) on draft. La Potranca pays homage to iconic singer & actor Vincente Fernandez "King of Ranchera". Check out the interesting connection with the staff or online. The staff here is excellent. Very helpful when navigating the menu. Very friendly. True professionals. Special shout out to Mauricio & Ralphael - you hombres make this place truly special. Mucho Gracias. We give La Potranca our highest recommendation. The service was a little bit slow, and I felt that the server got annoyed with us when we asked for a few more minutes to look over the menu. It was more the face she made, but I kept my cool. The food was great and the portions were generous. The salsas that she brought to the table were delicious. I wished I had asked whethet they sold them because I would of bought some. When we walked out to leave, I realized that they have outside sitting, but the restaurant is in a plaza, so the sitting is in the outside in the middle of the plaza.

I noticed a new appetizer menu so we opted to try two things from there. My husband had the ceviche Tostada and I had the mushroom Ceviche. It's a small, fast, casual dining place, with table service. I started with the La Potranca cocktail. Our server said it was tequila, passion fruit, and coconut. I assume it was coconut milk or cream of coconut, because the drink had a very light creamy consistency. Honestly, I'm still thinking about this drink. My husband said it tasted strong which surprised me because it didn't to me, but halfway through, I was feeling it. I loved this drink so much. It also came in a funny torso shaped glass. For food, we ordered my daughter the cheese quesadilla, my husband the beef burrito, and I ordered the Vampiro - a fried tortilla with meat, cilantro, onions. My husband said his burrito was good but that it was too much cheese. It essentially tasted like a cheese burrito. Similarly, our daughter's cheese quesadilla was so THICK that we thought she mistakenly got chicken. Turns out it was an enormous amount of cheese, but I tasted it and it was also sooo flavorful. The Vampiro I ordered tasted so good. It was different from what I've usually had in Mexican restaurants but was sort of "lighter" in some ways even though the tortilla was fried. This has a ton of flavor too. I ordered two, and they were $4.50 each, so not bad. (The food came super, super fast). I forgot to mention we were given chips when we arrived. There was a caddy of 8 sauces to choose from, spicy and mild. I tried the very spiciest, Salsa Chile de Vincent's, and this did have some spice but not too much. The Salsa Asada was the second spiciest but not spicy for me. Salsa Chilango had another flavor in it that I couldn't quite narrow down but it was a little creamy and super flavorful. And the Salsa Asada had a Smokey flavor. Regardless, it was a great collection to choose from. We ordered the churros for dessert with dulce de leche to dip them in and also Nutella. These are probably the best churros we've had. They were super sugary and so delicious. The place is small but with a fun, pink, neon aesthetic. The bathroom was clean and beautiful. (Don't be deterred by the sign at the doorway saying no public restroom - that just means for non-patrons. This little restaurant was such a fun surprise and definitely somewhere I'll go again.
