Food is great and so is the customer service. Be prepared to wait a little bit to be seated during the breakfast brunch hours on the weekend. They get busy! My only complaint is how sticky the booth and table were both times we ate here. Could do a little better wiping things down. Country fried steak and eggs with hash browns was great. 1st time at Gabe's for brunch with my in-laws last weekend. I was pretty impressed. The place was busy, as any good restaurant should be on a Saturday for brunch. We had a large group and were seated fairly quickly. The servers were very pleasant and accurate. I had the breakfast burrito smothered and was pleasantly surprised at how good the green chili was. It wasn't spicy but it was very tasty. Almost everyone else in the group had the pancake combo and they all seemed pleased. I myself would come back for the breakfast burrito alone read more

This place is truly a little gem! We went here for breakfast upon a recommendation from a good friend. We have been searching for a good, quaint breakfast place near us and there is nothing nearby. We finally went to Gabe's Cafe. I had the veggie omelet, now, most breakfast places have a veggie omelet on the menu and when it comes out it has a scant amount of veggies. This veggie omelet had a generous amount of perfectly seasoned veggies. Let's also talk about the homemade raisin bread. Delicious! It was a wonderful treat, not super sweet but had the perfect amount of cinnamon, nice crust and delicious chewy center. Ok moving on to the dish my son ordered. The New York steak breakfast, excellent tender steak with green chili, eggs and hash browns. He said the steak was cooked perfectly to his liking and was not tough or over fatty. He also said the chili was great. My husband had the corned beef hash also with green chili and he said it was very good as well! Our server was delightful, attentive and on point. She and the entire staff were cheery and kept our coffees full and hot. They also seemed like they truly enjoyed working here which is such a positive sign for a restaurant. Another great signal of this place was the buzzing atmosphere, people were talking to each other and enjoying their time here. I did not see one person on their phone while here which is highly unusual these days. There were obviously regulars because the wait staff welcomed these people by name as they were arriving and being seated. Such a happy way to start a Saturday morning. We sat at Betty's table, I want to meet Betty! She has her own table, she must be legendary. My husband asked when we need to come to meet Betty. Sounds like we need to be there in the afternoon to meet her. We also ordered a cinnamon roll to take home to our boys that didn't come with us. On the top of the box, our server wrote the heating instructions to ensure perfection at home too! All in all we were highly impressed in this little hole in the wall cafe. This might, very well be our new go to for weekend breakfast dates. It is a little further away from where we live but now that we found it we both agree that it was worth the drive. Went for breakfast on Sunday morning. Prices are good and the food was very satisfying. I had the Spanish skillet and DH had the Gabe's skillet. Both were hot when delivered, well balanced, and seasoned well. The green chili was pretty spicy so if you aren't into that, be warned. read more

Great place. Stopped Sat morning shortly after opening and were seated quickly. The wait staff were very attentive, even if we were not at their table. SWMBO had the half order biscuits and gravy. It came with a egg and 2 pieces of bacon. There was enough for the 2 of us. I had the eggs Benedict, and the eggs even came out poached like they are supposed to be. This is a local yokel little gem that we love to stop into for lunch. All the seniors and police officers hang out here so you know the food is good and the prices are right. Breakfast was decent and inexpensive. I had two eggs with home fries, bacon and raisin toast. The home fries were just little fried square potatoes. Raisin toast was flavorful. My partner had the cheeseburger and fries. The meat was kind of flat and mid quality. The tomatoes, red onion, and lettuce were fresh. The fries were tasty and fat shaped. My husband and I went there this AM for breakfast because I didn't feel like cooking. I love Eggs Benedict and make it at home regularly, including homemade hollandaise sauce (which is absolutely delicious.) To start, I'll compliment the multiple positives about this restaurant, it's obviously popular since it's been very crowded each time we've driven by, waitress was quick to serve and friendly, and it has a big menu with lots of items. Food arrived fairly quickly given how busy they were, and when my husband received the wrong dish, the waitress very quickly removed and replaced it with a smile. So far so good. Except that whatever the sauce was on my breakfast it should NOT be called Hollandaise. It truly doesn't deserve it. really was quite dreadful, thin, transparent, extremely salty. No lemon, no butter flavors, only salt, and really oddly colored....honestly, many years ago I used to use a powdered mix envelope that you mixed with milk then cooked, and even THAT was better than this! It only vaguely maybe "resembled" Hollandaise, it was more like chicken gravy or something, but clearly not Hollandaise. It really made the breakfast nasty and I felt bad, but couldn't eat it either, so I ate one of the eggs and ham and left the rest of the plate...Didn't complain because they look so busy and we tipped for the good service, but really, somebody needs to look at whatever that nasty yellow mess is and fix it! I've never in my entire life not eaten Eggs Benedict no matter who made it, nor complained about it from multiple restaurants. (Because it's never been terrible before.) read more

Staff does not follow Covid guidelines. Staff wears masks on chins and seating is close. We went here hoping they would follow Covid precautions. We came in and looked around, it wasn't busy and seemed like they were. Upon staying and ordering we saw many of the staff taking off their mask to talk to customers or wearing it on their chin only. One staff member sat at the tables to take orders (not abiding the 6 foot rule). It started to get more busy as we were there and they began to seat people at every table which was not 6 feet apart. I felt extremely uncomfortable there and should of left even though we already ordered our food. I know some are getting more relaxed about Covid lately however the health department has not, wearing masks covering the nose & face is still required as well as distancing patrons at restaurants. We also never got refills on our drinks and seemed to be forgot after we got our food. Even though the location is nicer and larger we will not be returning as the staff does not care about they health of their community. read more

We stopped here driving from Denver to Buffalo Wyoming. The breakfast was very good. Had three different dishes and we all enjoyed them. Gravy is delicious! Love It! I always order a bacon skillet with eggs over medium, and with green chili on top. Just thinking about it makes me want one. On a weekend, you may have to wait, but it's worth it. Can't see why it's rated so high. Marginal even for a greasy spoon. I ordered the eggs and sausage with 3 eggs and cheddar cheese on top. I usually order a varient to see if the server is listening and if the cook can adapt, fail on both. I got 2 eggs, no cheddar and very overcooked hash browns. The toast was untoasted and soaked with oil...yuk. This cook is lacking even the basic skills and common cooking sense. There are way better spoons out there, don't waste your money here. read more
