The staff was attentive from the start, and our waiter offered excellent recommendations. We were a party of five, and although not everyone had arrived yet, we began with drinks and a few antipasti. We ordered the burrata, which was incredibly silky and flavorful--even for someone who doesn't usually enjoy it, it was delicious. Paired with the olive oil and balsamic on the side, it truly brought all the flavors together. The tiger shrimp dish was also a standout--three large, perfectly cooked shrimp served with a lemon-spiced pasta that complemented it beautifully. Another highlight was an Italian dish stuffed with parmesan and pear, finished with a balsamic cream sauce--it completely stole the table. Absolutely unforgettable. We also enjoyed classics like the bolognese and cacio e pepe, along with a gem salad topped with avocado and shaved almonds. The outdoor seating is lovely. The food was ok, but some items on the menu are hit or miss. My branzino, for example, was delicious, as was the side that came with it. But both the meatballs appetizer and the pizza that my mom ordered were a bit disappointing. I didn't like the taste of the meatballs, not sure what ingredients were combined to make the meatballs, but it just didn't taste good and it was too dense and tough. My mom's pizza was too doughy and had so little sauce, it was dry and tough to eat it. We had to request extra pizza sauce, which took forever and by that time the pizza was cold. Service was otherwise ok. I would say order appropriately here and avoid our mistakes because they're pricey. read more

Good food but the restaurant is EXPENSIVE for what you get. Be prepared to spend $$$. The restaurant itself is really cute and cozy with a bit of a romantic feel to it. The service was top notch our waitress made great recommendations and was very attentive and friendly throughout our meal. We ordered the hugo spritz which has always been one of my favorite drinks to order in Italy after an afternoon spent sightseeing and walking around because the drink is so perfectly refreshing and not overly sweet which I love. The Hugo spritz was absolutely amazing, so much better than I expected, and brought me right back to the streets of Rome. Highly recommend! To start our meal we ordered the crispy polenta and it was a great way to start our meal. I absolutely love polenta and had never had it served this way so I was really excited to try it and it didn't disappoint it was absolutely delicious. The polenta was crispy and warm served over a layer of Cacio e Pepe cream sauce with fresh grated Parmesan cheese. Such a simple dish but done so well and in a way I've never had before. We ordered a Margherita pizza and the braised short rib ravioli of the day to share. The Margherita pizza was very good, the dough was cooked perfectly, and it was another simple dish done well. The ravioli was just OK, but we were expecting something wow for the $50 price point, it was definitely NOT WORTH IT. Portion size for the price of this dish was very small and the ravioli itself wasn't very impressive it was lacking in flavor and the short rib inside was a bit too dry. We were also expecting a bit more as far as the pasta went, it didn't have that fresh homemade ravioli taste, the pasta itself didn't taste homemade or was anything special. The dish was simply ok, but again very expensive for what you get. We ended our meal with the tiramisu which was also just ok, not anything special, and definitely not worth the $15 price point. It was served in a small tea cup so portion size was small and didn't taste at all like a traditional tiramisu. Even a double espresso here cost $7 which again is a bit overpriced for what you get. To put it in perspective, for two people for lunch our check was $200 and the restaurant already included 20% gratuity even though we were just two people (most restaurants add the gratuity for parties of 6 or more). I forgot to mention, that dining here they didn't bring any bread to the table either when we sat down, so I'm assuming that would have been an additional charge as well. So although we enjoyed our drinks and the meal, for the price point I don't think we will be back again. read more

I live near their original restaurant in South Beach and so I was interested to find out how well they had pulled off their casual chic, Mediterranean, Italian atmosphere. In short, it is a fantastic rendition. I loved everything about this location, completely forgot I was in a mall, and the attention to detail, the service, and the food, were among the best I've had at Gaby. The host, Jason, was super, and everyone was attentive without being overbearing. From the charcuterie board to the Nicoise salad to the focaccia, there was no let up on delivering full flavors and great fresh ingredients. Super for lunch. I wanted to love this place - truly. The atmosphere is cute and on a nice day, it's a treat to sit outside. The menu is great too. But I don't know if maybe they were understaffed? We saw our waiter a few times before we were ready to order ... and then had a really hard time flagging him down. It seemed like he was helping people inside and out, which doesn't make sense since it's a decent sized restaurant. Some of the food arrived cold, and one of the drinks melty and 15 minutes after we ordered it. I think sitting outside isn't the best idea as it took forever for things to get to us. And overall, it was fine - but you have no say in the 20% tip that's included in the check. The food was pretty good, I just have liked to enjoy it hot and offered water and Parmesan cheese while I was enjoying my pasta. I would go back and just sit inside. read more

The "POT OF MEATBALLS" came with three meatballs and the "PARMA" pizza was a flatbread style pizza with eight slices. For drinks my party ordered an Aperol Spritz and a Corona. Both dishes I found to be decent in taste but nothing noteworthy. In terms of price, the Aperol Spritz cost $20 and the "POT OF MEATBALLS" cost $21 which is a costly drink when you consider it is nearly the price of a dish. However, the Corona was $9 so it is clear that not all drinks are that expensive. Let me say the service was great and the atmosphere was super cool. However, the food was just ok. I got a pasta dish and my wife got the margarita pizza. My pasta was a little undercooked and was the size of a lunchable, but was tasty. My wife's pizza was small and bland. Both were overpriced for what we got. Cozy and warm "mall restaurant" with an Italian cuisine menu and polite service. The menu is curated with interesting dishes, although some of your usual upscale favorites are included. We started with one of their pizzas - an arugula and prosciutto to which we added some red sauce - and it was excellent. Very well made and bursting with flavor. Loved the Roman crust! We then moved on to the linguini with clams; the pasta was cooked al dente - perfect! Clams were tender and the "broth" flavorful. Note that the kitchen can be a bit slow (the staff admitted that to us), so don't come if you're in a rush. One minor annoyance: the food heat lamp is outside the kitchen - basically in the dining room - and constantly clicks on and then off, which makes the room suddenly brighter and then back to darker. A bit unnerving. Overall, a solid mall destination for well made, modern Italian food. read more
