Al went above and beyond and is the most experienced roofing contractor that I have crossed paths with. I unfortunately called many roofers for quotes, but my inner gut told me to keep going. Thankfully, I continued my pursuit and found Al. Al explained every phase of my full roof replacement. He clearly and personally guided me through the permitting steps, which saved me a ton of time and stress. The office staff was equally outstanding: organized, responsive, and genuinely pleasant to work with. Sophie was very responsive which I found refreshing after the lack of response from other companies. And Mike's crew? Exceptional. Their workmanship, efficiency, and attention to detail were truly top notch and second to none. Elite Roofing is exactly the kind of company you hope to hire. They were honest, transparent, dependable, and exceptionally skilled. If Yelp allowed more than five stars, they'd easily earn them. I recommend them wholeheartedly. You'll be in great hands from start to finish.

I paid these guy and the job looked great but I still have a leak after paying thounds of dollars and the leak is coming from where they did the work for me, I had them come back out multiple times and yet still leaking till this day in the same area in which they did work. I even had the boss come and he is a piece of work tell me Im going to have to pay more when he sold me on something that clearly I didnt need considering I still have water coming in, This all started in 2022 and its a shame people do bussiness in this manor.

    ## **Detailed Review of Royal Renovators (Experience from ~2023) **…read more My experience with Royal Renovators in 2023 was extremely disappointing, unprofessional, and ultimately costly. I normally don't leave reviews, but the level of incompetence and deception I encountered deserves to be shared so others can avoid the same situation. ### **1. Repeated Misdiagnoses and Unnecessary Charges** We originally contacted Royal Renovators because our roof was leaking. They came out twice and still couldn't identify the source of the problem. Each visit came with new explanations and new charges, none of which made sense in hindsight. Eventually, they claimed they had finally found the issue and charged us approximately **$4,800** for the repair. We trusted their assessment and paid, hoping the leak would finally be resolved. ### **2. Leak Still Present -- and More Confusion** The next time it rained, the leak was still there. Same spot, same issue. When we called them back, they used a drone to inspect the roof but still couldn't figure out what was wrong. Their uncertainty was alarming. We ended up using **our own drone**, and we were the ones who actually located the problem area. When we pointed it out to them, they insisted the leak was coming from the chimney area -- which was completely incorrect. At that point, it was obvious they were guessing, not diagnosing. ### **3. The Skylight Disaster** While they were assessing the roof leak, we made the mistake of agreeing to have a skylight installed at the same time. That turned out to be another huge error. The skylight they installed looks like a **DIY project**, not professional work. It has a **constant draft**, and when the weather gets cold, the draft is unbearable. It's clear they had no idea what they were doing, and the workmanship reflects that. Instead of adding value to our home, the skylight became another problem we had to live with. ### **4. Lack of Professionalism and Skill** Between the misdiagnosed leak, the sloppy skylight installation, and the inconsistent explanations, it became clear that the workers and foremen lacked the knowledge and professionalism expected from a roofing company. Their priority seemed to be collecting payments, not fixing the actual issues. ### **5. A Competent Company Fixed Everything** We finally decided to get a second opinion and found **2BQ Roofing**. The difference was immediate. They assessed the roof and instantly identified the real issue -- something Royal Renovators failed to do after multiple visits and thousands of dollars. 2BQ Roofing fixed the problem correctly, and here we are **three years later with not a single drop of water**. That alone speaks volumes. ### **6. Final Thoughts** I would never recommend Royal Renovators to anyone. Their service was unprofessional, their workers were incompetent, and their repeated misdiagnoses cost us time, stress, and money. The skylight installation was just the final confirmation that they were not capable of doing the job. If you're looking for a roofing company that actually knows what they're doing, skip Royal Renovators entirely. Our experience with them was a complete waste, and the only real solution came from hiring a different company.

Dan from ny roofing was great throughout the whole process. he worked with us to choose aluminum gutters and downspouts that have the same exact copper appearance and historical style but without the actual scrap value of real copper. honestly you cant even tell the difference unless someone points it out to you. it ended up being the perfect solution for our landmark property because we kept the original character of the building while avoiding future theft issues. another thing we really appreciated was that dan helped coordinate with the local landmarks department and handled the lpc permit process for approval on the exterior changes. dealing with landmark regulations in park slope brooklyn is usually stressful but he made the process alot easier and kept the board updated the whole time. his crew did a faboulous job with the installation and cleanup and really paid attention to the details. if you need landmark roofing, gutter replacement, historic restoration or exterior waterproofing work in brooklyn nyc i highly reccomend ny roofing.

I'm an architect and my wife's an engineer, so we went deep into the search for a Brooklyn roofing contractor. Not as easy as you'd think: most companies chase bigger commercial gigs, and finding someone solid who actually cares about residential work took some digging. We ended up hiring NY Roofing. They handled everything--ripped out the rotted wood decking, added DensDeck recovery board so we're set up for a future rooftop solar setup, laid down a cold process SBS modified bitumen roof, reinforced every detail with liquid flashing, and hooked us up with a heavy-duty 6K commercial gutter system to finally fix the drainage mess. The crew finished the whole job in just two working days, right on schedule. They kept the site spotless and really watched out for our property and our neighbors--super considerate. Honestly, their professionalism, speed, and workmanship blew us away. If you need reliable roofing or waterproofing help in Brooklyn, I'd recommend NY Roofing without hesitation.

All the founder could say was that he couldn't understand how the damage could have happened. It happened because the roof wasn't done right. They didn't own up to it. Nor did they even offer to replace the damaged materials for free! Hansen also recommended work that other contractors didn't feel was necessary. At first, I thought Hansen was giving a good price. But after getting other estimates, we chose another contractor to do the work and could not have been happier. The contractor we went with gave us a MUCH better price and didn't nickle and dime for everything they could charge extra for -- dumpster, etc. It pays to shop around. The new contractor installed identical roofing materials with ease, and took care of all the permit work -- and did the work for thousands of dollars less than Hansen's estimate. Shop around.

It wasn't cheap - twice the amount of the quote I got from a big box store but I guess the old saying is true - you get what you pay for.
