Really enjoy the freshness of the food and the burritos are delicious. They also have a really good juice bar, I highly recommend eating here. My only feedback is they sometimes have people at the register or taking order by phone who don't' speak English, only Spanish. Gaby's to me is a safe bet for Mexican food in the area. Their food is always delicious, and you can stuff yourself silly with bread and cakes from the bakery. You can then wash it down with Hispanic-oriented drinks ranging from the manufactured Boing! and Squirt sodas to Champurrado (warm oatmeal-like corn/atole, milk, cinnamon and a boost of chocolate... perfect in winter/cold weather). We tried full dishes in the past and they never disappoint, but even the usual light fare such as the burritos and tamales are always wonderfully cooked here (Caution: due to the popularity of the tamales, you can easily be tamale-deprived when they run out of them by dinnertime!) Gaby's Tres Leches cake is truly one of the best one -- very moist and squishy (we used to go to the smaller store on Joyce Kilmer to get them but this one is a brighter and bigger restaurant with a seating area with equally good bakery). As far as I can tell their bakery is the only one carrying that marvelously crunchy flat crispy cake (not as crispy as those in Asian stores but not as sweet either). Overstocks from the bakery are usually packed in plastic bags and sold at $1 -$2.50 per bag. The eating area is seated between the bakery side and the kitchen side so you can just grab and pay your purchase from either one. Popped in here with some friends when we were in the area. No English speaking staff, so you'll need to know a bit of Spanish to place your order. Personally, that doesn't matter to me if the food is good. Ceiling tiles have water damage and mold growing on them (uhh....). Anyway, onto the food. I tried a tres leches (coconut) which was decent but tasted like a watered down cake. I also got a sweet Mexican bread and puffed pastry. Those two tasted stale. I mean you couldn't even break it apart in your fingers. Why would you give that to a customer!? The receipt charged $0.35 for "misc item" and double billed for one of the pastries. My new favorite Mexican bakery and deli and I simply can't get enough of it. Walking distance to my work place, this place has become my to go place for lunch. From their scrumptious hot sandwiches to their burritos and salads to their chicken with beans, everything I order is very delicious. And of course it really helps that their prices are very low and the food is well worth more. My top favorites here are spicy carnitas burrito with everything and chicken with beans. The spicy carnitas or grilled chicken burrito is big enough for two, unless you are super hungry. The best part about their burritos is that after rolling it together, they grill it to give it's covering a little crispy taste. And with their green hot sauce, it is just too yummy! As for their chicken, you can request it baked with their daily sauce. The mole sauce is my fav, a little sweet and tangy, along along with their black beans which all compliments each other so well. I've got this trick where if they make me something I like to go I keep the bag that they write the order on and hand it in next time as my order. This system has been working well for me and the lady behind the counter always gets a good laugh out of it. Other then having hot food treys for a quick lunch to go they have an entire bakery and sell a ton of fresh squeezed juice. The prices are extremely fair and the places is gigantic. Came here for Saturday lunch...and walked away 30min later with full and happy stomachs. There's a pretty big parking lot in the back, but it was packed because Gaby's is quite popular at lunch time. The inside of the building is surprisingly spacious, with plenty of tables go eat. It's also very neat and organized: bakery counter on the left, meal food on the right, drinks in fridges at the far wall. We ordered 2 burritos (spicy pork and veg @$5.25 each), 1 taco (cabeza @$2.25), 1 order of guac and chips (@$5.50), 1 drink (jugo verse @$3ish). The ordering was hectic because of crowds at the counter, and food prep took a while because of the amount of people. Our burritos arrived first. Very good and refreshing. First, they're pretty big and stuffed with ingredients so I was full just from the burrito. Second, it tastes...healthy. No extra sodium additives, just a ton of natural veggies wrapped in a thin tortilla for my veg taco. My friend liked his spicy pork a lot too. My friend also liked his cabeza soft shell taco...a lot. He said the meat was extremely delicious and the taco shell tasted homemade (maybe it is?). I wasn't a huge fan of the jugo verde. It has a ton of ingredients but I felt like it tasted like OJ + grass? Perhaps I'm just not used to the mix of ingredients they use. Loved my chips and guac though. They're definitely made fresh! The chips even smell delicious, and are very very crispy even after sitting out for the whole afternoon in my kitchen. The guac tastes so homey--perfectly smooth and tasty. It's not as rich as I expected, but overall still great. We didn't get to try the bakery items but we'll try some in our many next times. Gaby's is a great place for authentic Mexican food. Forget about places like Chipotle! Their food is delicious and plentiful. Today my husband and I both got burritos for just over $5 each, and they were freshly made for us. Gaby's staff mostly speaks Spanish but they do accommodate their English-speaking customers with no issues. When you walk in, the bakery section is on the left and the restaurant/cooked food section is on the right. Lots of tables are available in the middle so you can eat in or take out. Another great find in my town thanks to yelp - you can get some Fresh delicious Mexican food at very reasonable prices OR very authentic Mexican bakery items at Gaby's Bakery & Deli. At this place, you will have to order at the counter and then pick up your food and even pick up your drinks from the fridge - you pay at the end when you are ready to walk out. The place is huge and they have plenty of table & chairs. They have the best chicken tamale and burritos around--and ask for some additional spicy red sauce and green sauce on the side, it will make any food that you ordered even better. Food is always fresh & something as simple rice is pretty good here so you should get rice & beans on the side with whatever you order. The prices are so reasonable that I am not sure how they make money--two people can eat dinner for less than 20 bucks. The folks who work here are very friendly & helpful so service is great. I am sure I will be a regular/duke at this place in no time so I highly recommend this place. read more

Gaby's is a frequent lunch spot for my work friends and I. We have been patrons there for about 5 years. The prices can't be beat. My favorite is the flautas with salsa verde but the tortas are amazing. I have salads sometimes and tamales as well. The burritos are less than $5 and always mouth watering. I was always a big fan of Mexican food but Gaby's has turned me away from the terrible chain restaurants and solely to family owned places. Decided to give Gaby's a try based on its YELP reviews. We ordered (2) burritos (rotisserie chicken & spicy pork) along with an order of guacamole and chips. Grab yourself a drink and take a seat while your food is prepared. It seemed to take awhile but I had to remind myself I was not at Chipotle. One complaint was our guacamole was not even prepared until after we picked up our burritos. We actually finished them before it was ready. I will say it was quite good and a large portion with fresh hot tortilla chips. The spicy pork burrito was really tasty. Good meat to bean/rice ratio with a pleasant amount of heat. The rotisserie chicken burrito however had a surprise bone (about 2" long) and piece of cartilage which was unfortunate as it had potential. We also noticed the person making the burritos was not wearing gloves like all of the other employees. They are inexpensive as lunch for two (burritos, guacamole & drinks) came to all of $18.
