Do not believe their warranty for glass replacement for an i phone. I had mine replaced and less than a month later a crack developed in the new glass. It had not been dropped, sat on, or in any way stressed. When I went back I was told the warranty was for defects, not cracks! If a crack is not a defect in an unstressed piece of glass, then what is? read more

They are the BEST! Professional courteous service, reasonable rates, excellent workmanship, and fast turnaround times. The are able to fix, from what little I heard from other customers in the store, just about anything that is fixable on a cell phone. :) The small "Gadget Pro" kiosk is located in the Montecito shopping center so it was very convenient. They do the repairs right there while you wait if they can. The kisok has a variety of phone accessories available for sale, neatly displayed in glass cases, including hands-free bluetooth speakers, charger cords, quite a selection of cool cell phone cases, and a few other interesting phone-related gems to be discovered, like a fan that attaches to the iPhone. They have two very comfy chairs to sit in while waiting, and also a couple of wooden stools as well, to accommodate different seating preferences. It was fun visiting their store. I had a broken power button for the longest time on my 5S because AT&T charged a ridiculous amount to repair it. Then I came across this place! I dropped my phone off with them at 4 and Tin stayed until after closing just to fix my phone! He even threw in a free screen protector for me! You also get a 90 day warranty!! Had my water damaged phone repaired here. Before I gave it to them it looked completely doomed. After a few hours with them they got it working completely for $150. However, after a few days of use I noticed the phone was heating up a lot, and the battery was discharging at a much faster rate than usual. So I took it back in to the shop and they replaced the battery with no additional charge. It worked much better than before, but still heated up and ran out of battery faster than it used to. So once again I brought it in. This time they told me there wasn't much they could do anymore, but they'd be willing to give me an $80 refund. Even though they didn't get my phone back to perfect condition, I was very pleased with the service. Everyone working at the shop was extremely kind and sounded like they truly cared about the customer. I hope more people discover this awesome little shop! read more

These guys, located in Montecito Plaza (near Trader Joe's) in San Rafael are the absolute BEST. After my iPhone broke, the digitizer was messed up so neither the display nor thumb sensor worked. Apple told me there was no way to unlock it, meaning I could not back it up to restore it onto my new phone (even though the hardware inside was undamaged). I took it to these guys, and they put on a new screen so I could unlock it, and instead of charging me the $130 that it costs for an iPhone 6+, they let me trade the phone (after erasing it) for the repair. It was bent and funky looking, and they took it anyway, saving my bacon and costing me nothing! And they were kind and had "Cosmos" playing in the background. I have been here twice in the past 6 months to get Iphones repaired. One for water damage (which they miraculously fixed....even tho it was a little glitchy we were very happy.) Another they fixed because I bought an Ebay battery and installed it myself. It turns out the battery was poor quality and causing the problems. They fixed it right there and then. In and out in 10 minutes. They never try to rip you off, and do not upsell you on things. They offer 90 day warranties on their work. Reasonably priced. Great local business! I had my iPhone 6 cracked screen fixed here. The first time I got it back there was a bubble of adhesive on the inside of the screen where the front facing camera is. They redid the screen repair after I asked, although they first said they could take a q-tip and clean it, to which I said no. The redone screen was acceptable. They said it was OEM IPhone screen quality parts. Except... when I put on my polarized sunglasses, I couldn't see the screen amymore. After all the time I've wasted there, I didn't go back a third time. Obviously, because they don't carry OEM glass screens, despite what they will tell you. read more

This store has bad customer service. We had a warranty through Costco (square trade) that only allows repairs at 2 stores, Petaluma or San Rafael. We decided to stay in the county and chose this store for screen repair. They had to order the screen and said three to five days for it to arrive (iPhone 11). A week later we hadn't heard from them; when my husband called to ask about it, they said they tried to call, but the phone hadn't worked! Hmmmm, all our other calls went through, no problem. I brought the phone in for repair and also brought a glass cover for the screen to protect it from more damage. An extra $5 for putting the cover on. Fine, I paid it. When I picked it up, the guy told me they got a few dust specks under the cover! Not a huge deal, but I had professionals do it to avoid that happening! Now, 9 days later, the corner of the cover is peeling up and since they didn't provide the cover, tough luck. Also, they could not use genuine Apple parts (why would square trade restrict me to an unauthorized parts dealer?) so they told me I'd get an error message about unauthorized parts for five days. Nine days later, I'm still seeing an error message! I called in and they told me it's fifteen days for the error message in the place I'm setting it (settings), but was just five days on the screen lock. When asked why they didn't tell me about the fifteen days and save me a phone call, they blamed it on Apple! I recommend trying a different repair shop if you want professional service. read more

Stay away!!! What wonderfully nice people who use generic products and continually malfunction. They remind you of your warranty --from the original visit only. I went in for a cracked screen When I got my phone back screen looked good but now it is possessed Apps open and buttons click all day long I returned 3 times for screen replacements because this is a problem that never existed prior to the cracked screen They reminded me that I had 30 days from my original service for warranty. I asked why would there continued faulty instillation of malfunctioning equipment would not restart the calendar. They said no There are a lot of options out there do not use this vendor or you will spend a lot more than the screen replacement. Next time I'll be taking my devices elsewhere. I have given this business one too many opportunities and I've had to come back 3 times for mistakes they've made to my iPhone 5c. WARNING! Fast, but questionable efficiency! I first had a cracked screen in need of repair back in February. They were fast and got my phone back within the hour for a reasonable price. They even gave me $10 off to match competitor prices. But the second I walked out of there I noticed my phone screen was lifting. I popped it back in and thought it'd be fine. It wasn't!!! Within the next month, the screen continued to lift and even the whole face fell out at one point. I took it back in March and they said oh yes we'll take care of this. Obviously they hadn't put the screen back on correctly. Took about 15 minutes this time and they "fixed" it. Over the next few months I continued to have so many problems with my screen, including it lifting and falling out STILL! I finally dropped my phone and the screen cracked. I just figured my haunting phone and all its problems were my fault at this point. Until a friend took a look at my phone and said hey! You're pentalope screws are missing. They help hold your screen in place. It was a brand new phone always inside a case that covers up those screws. There's NO way they fell out on their own. It's no wonder the whole face would fall out sometimes!!! And at this point I had taken it in twice. TWO TIMES and no one noticed the screws weren't put back in!! I took the phone back AGAIN in June. I was worried that I had initially gotten the phone repaired so long go they might not fix it, but they looked up my payment records and once again said they'd take care of it. 15 minutes later I had a new screen, new screws, and an earnest apology for the inconvenience of making me come in so many times. At this point, I feel this business deserves 3 star since, and only since, they continuously did correct their mistakes without any hassle, which I greatly appreciate. This business is fast, but not efficient! Of one of the many times I was in there, they had almost lost a woman's iPad and thought they'd given hers to the wrong customer (crisis was adverted once they finally checked another drawer). The guys in there are nice but do not pay enough attention to detail and have made way too many mistakes, at the cost of much inconvenience for me and to other costumers I have witnessed (the woman's iPad that was almost lost did not get the correct feature put on it. They put the screen protector that she had already payed for onto the wrong iPad. They ran out of new screen protectors and she had to return another time). read more

This shop answered the phone, no hold time, quick with prices and turnaround times (screen had to be ordered), & had regular business hours. When I arrived they had not 1 but 3 technicians, even had a surprise screen in stock and installed it within 2 hours. Very negative, BAD customer service experience. When I entered there were two employees. The younger tall one with black hair, approached the counter and just stared at me without saying a word. The other sat in the background in complete silence. I asked how much it would cost to install the new screen I had brought with me. Without saying a word he proceeded to take my phone apart then called someone (presumably his boss). Then for some reason and without asking permission, he rummaged through a small bag I had set on the counter (I guess to look for additional parts?). He was on hold for 5-6 minutes. Never looked at me the whole time or spoke a single word. After all that he stared at my phone for several seconds then just said "$80.00". My response was; "Thanks anyways". He then turned around and walked away leaving my phone disassembled with the back and battery on the counter. SUPER rude. Super condescending- "I'm a tech guy and you need me" -attitude. While I'm extremely grateful my cracked iPhone 4 screen could be replaced in 90 minutes more or less, after reading the other reviews I feel a little ripped off. I was charged $109.99, a great deal more than other iPhone 4 owners were charged. Also, thinking back on it, I didn't have my password protection on and they wanted to know if I did and I told them no. Why would they need to get on my phone if all they're doing is replacing the screen? If someone knows the answer to this please let me know because now I'm feeling a little paranoid about what they did to my phone. Overall they seemed very nice and easy to work with but I was surprised at the cost (and now reading these other posts feel taken advantage of). 6/26/12 - Ok, this edit is coming a bit late, and with my apologies to Gadget Pro whom I told I would update. I went back to the store to get the skinny on why I was charged more than all these other reviewers. Turns out the iPhone 4S is made differently from other iPhones. Tin explained it all very patiently and kindly and I left very satisfied that I got my questions answered. I would definitely use these folks again and recommend them. Why not 5 stars? Because they do not have a price list hanging from the back wall or a brochure or anything like that to explain their services and maybe why certain products cost more to fix. I was pretty distraught after smashing the f@*k out of the glass on my phone. I was sure this was going to be a nightmare to replace, probably take a few days to get a replacement or cost me an arm and two legs, but what could I do? We need our phone these days. I was even less optimistic about my day when I saw this teeny hole in the wall place that I must've driven past at first when I blinked.
