It is really my pleasure to compose a review for Gadi Construction. Addressing our contact with project manager - Millie! Last year of 2023, my wife and I decided to renovate our kitchen. We had met with four other companies and they were fine but something was missing. We were deciding on one of the companies to work with until I received a call from Gadi Construction. I remember hearing the name of the company and almost passed on the future meeting because we figured it would be the same types of personalities, but then we decided to arrange to a meeting if we could do it the following day on Friday. We were informed, we would be meeting with "Millie," unknown last name. We were advised we could meet at 10am on Friday. Funny thing is that I had interview questions written down in a note pad. In fact, questions I had for the others we had previously met. I wanted to make sure we had a good working relationship with any construction company. Friday morning. It was 9:58am and a vehicle pulled up to the curb across from our home. A young woman stepped out and arrived at our front door promptly at 10am. There was a knock at the door. I opened the door and I stuck my hand out to introduce myself and shake her hand. She grabbed my hand with a firm professional hand shake and almost pulled me out of the opened door. I actually giggled. I was impressed as she said, "I'm Millie!" She had and has a great contagious smile. I invited her in and I introduced her to my wife. We all sat and I was prepared to conduct my comprehensive interview. I had my questions in hand and before I could even begin, "Millie" began to explain her experiences and other relevant information. This was easy and unexpected. All I had to do was check the boxes as "Millie" addressed all I was going to ask her. It was amazing! At any rate, my wife and I were feeling very confident "Millie" was the one person for our project. We discussed our design, building materials, loosely addressed the budget and other matters. We certainly did have a positive meeting of the minds. During this meeting we discussed speaking to current and past clients and also that we would be meeting "Alex the designer." It was such a good meeting and a pleasure to meet "Millie!" She offered to provided names and contact numbers for clients. I made calls and all the clients I reached out too were very happy with "Millie" and the finished product. That was good enough for us. We signed with Gadi Construction based on our meeting with "Millie!" The collaboration with Gadi, "Millie" and "Alex the Designer" was a winning proposition! "Millie" was the most dedicated, responsible, caring, kindest, friendliest, engaging, funny and very professional representative of a construction company that I have ever met. If we ever had any questions or concerns, all we would have to do is call or text. She was very prompt with her responses. We always felt confident that "Millie" would take care of everything and she did! My wife and I feel very close to "Millie." We not only consider her a close friend, but also like family. She's a wonderful person. Not only did we have our kitchen remodeled which included removing of weight bearing walls and all the way down to the studs and vaulted ceilings, but during the process, we decided to remodel our lower level family room and powder room. This is how confident we were with "Millie!" To date, our project is complete and we are so happy with the finished product. It all exceeded our expectations. Our home looks like it belongs in a magazine due to "Millie" and her crew. This was a bathroom remodel. I will take part of the responsibility because I had never had a project like this, and didn't know what to ask about. The problems I encountered: the original bathroom had a heater/fan. After the remodel, I discovered that it had been replaced with just a fan - no heater. When I contacted the project manager, he told me that I had not asked for a heater and fan. I responded that I didn't know I had to ask - I assumed it would get replaced with the same thing that was there. Eventually, I paid $1000 more so that it could get replaced with a heater fan. I ordered a sink that got attached the wall. I wasn't asked where I wanted it and discovered that it had been put in the corner. The project manager told me that it was a corner sink which it was not. More discussions and they moved the sink. The shower door splashguard was not put on correctly and water was coming out of the shower and I couldn't figure out why. A new project manager sent someone out and this was eventually fixed. A shelf was put on wall but for whatever reason it was not stable. maybe it needed to be screwed into a stud and was not. I kept only a few things on the shelf, but it eventually started falling off the wall, and I unscrewed it and stopped using it because it was unstable. I realize that I was naïve because I expected that a project manager would just make sure that everything was done correctly so that I would not have to worry about any of it. Apparently, that is not how construction works as I have since learned. Everything was ultimately done, but I needed to be actively involved in correcting things along the way, plus the extra $1000 because I had not specifically told them that I wanted a heat/fan like the one that was there before demolition. read more

In early August I moved to a 650 square foot one bedroom condo located in the Peninsula Place Condominiums. The unit needed significant work in that it contained the original bathroom vanity, kitchen countertops and cabinets from the 70's when the units were constructed. My agent referred me to Gadi Construction after finding them on Thumback. I met Yotam, project manager and immediately felt comfortable with him. He was honest, forthright and was very careful explaining step by step what Gadi would do. He also outlined how I would pay for the project; nominal deposit first followed by incremental payments. I retained Gadi to replace my bathroom vanity, install my new toilet, medicine cabinet and vanity lights. There work is outstanding and they are fast. It took them a day to complete this phase. I then hired Gadi to install my new kitchen countertop, backsplash, faucet and disposal. Yotam accompanied me to the countertop store where we picked up all the parts. It was convenient because we picked up everything at once plus I was able to physically pick and choose what I wanted. In all it took two days for Gadi to replace my countertop, install the new faucet, install the new disposal and backsplash in back of the range. The work is outstanding and you can see how much time is placed in the little details. Throughout this time I spoke with Yotam at the minimum of once a day. He is very good about keeping clients apprised as to how their job is progressing. He is also extremely personable and easy to talk to. I would not hesitate to recommend Gadi Construction in the future. For all the attention to detail and the quality work you get their rates are competitive and reasonable. GADI construction tackled a small project in my SF condo and it turned out AWESOME! Nadav, the PM was highly responsive and super helpful! They helped me save money and gave me recommendations on how and what to purchase for the job, and they even accepted the oversized deliveries for me! Terrible experience: GADI did a horrible job on their renovation project of 2 bathrooms in our home. The "finished" project has a bunch of cracks after multiple attempts of having them fix it. Our project manager Nicole S. did a terrible job, consistently making mistakes and not knowing how to make them right. Eventually they "added" another PM, Tomer, who was generally unprofessional, not involved, and un-responsive. Overall, they are an unprofessional company. In addition to poor quality work, they did not show up on time / constantly missed appointments, sent us the wrong invoices, were way late on the project, had their workers complaining to us about them, and quite frankly lied to us multiple times. I could not recommend them less. Main issues: - initially quoted us at 6 weeks for our project, it took over 13 weeks. - the "finished" project has a ton of cracks!! After 3+ times of us asking them to fix it, the last time they just left caulk behind and told us we can do it ourselves. - generally not respectful: they would show up late / not at all for appointments without communicating so ahead of time. They cut our water with no notice (and left it off for several days). They left a huge mess in our front yard that we had to clean up. - their workers are unhappy and complain about Gadi often, and are eager just to wrap up the project without high quality. - they are just bad at what they do: they did not have any organized inventory tracking in place, did not know about how Oakland codes or how the permitting system works (the inspector literally said to me "They sold you on something they can't do"), sent us the wrong invoices, and demonstrated a severe lack of expertise / could rarely answer questions about the construction project. - they refused to offer a workmanship warranty, which many other contractors will include -- go with them instead! - they sent us the wrong client's invoices, which included personal information of another one of their clients (yikes!) The one thing they were not late about was getting their money... they send an unprofessional & unfriendly guy to your door to collect within a day of sending an invoice. Do yourself a favor and don't use them -- it's a ton of frustration and poor quality... and they'll leave you with a caulk gun and tell you to fix the issues yourself. Any cost savings of using them simply aren't worth it in the end if you get a bad finished product. Look elsewhere! P.S. Every single construction worker who came to our house complained about Gadi, saying they were not being paid and that Gadi was lying to them. This affected the quality and duration of the work, and the experience was generally frustrating and terrible. read more

We had our half bathroom remodeled and also had some drywall repairs and painting done. Nadav was our project manager. This was our first time remodeling anything and they were incredibly helpful and responsive through the whole process. The work was very well done, the inspections passed with flying colors. Everything was on schedule. A week after the work was completed, we found a spot where some paint was peeling and called Nadav. He sent someone to fix it almost immediately, accommodating our schedule. The work was all very well done and we've received compliments on our new half bathroom. He is very smart and was quick to understand any modification I described. I think that his listening skills are one of his top qualities. We worked with him remotely at times and daily he sent us pictures of the project and was extremely communicative via and phone and text. He is an incredibly hard worker and was available on weekends, early in the morning and late at night for communication. I just really enjoyed working with him. The quality of his work is excellent.
